Despite moving two places up in the monthly Fifa ranking released on Thursday, the Super Eagles are ranked seventh in Africa

Nigeria have moved up to the 42nd position in the latest Fifa global rankings released on Thursday.

The Eagles remain the seventh ranked African side behind Algeria, Cote d'Ivoire, Ghana, Tunisia, Cape Verde Island and Senegal.

Algeria continue to be the top-ranked African side and are 21st in the world. Cote d’Ivoire are in 24th position in the world and second in Africa. They are followed by Tunisia, Ghana, Senegal, Cape Verde Island, Nigeria, Guinea, Congo DR and Cameroon.

The biggest climbers of the month are Madagascar (113th), while Nigeria’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier opponents, Chad dropped 20 places to be placed 172 in the world.

Germany occupy the first position on the Fifa /Coca-Cola World Ranking with Argentina and Colombia third and fourth respectively while Spain crawled back to the tenth position in the world.

The next world ranking will be published on July 2, 2015.

famous Jain monk’s life, prompting him to give up his $600m empire. He got converted on Sunday and

To kick-off his monk life, a lavish
three-day send-off party was thrown for him, where 1,500 people
served food to guests. After the
ceremony, he is expected to live in
abject poverty with no maids or
money or any physical possession. Times of India reports that, “The
venue [of the send-off] was built in
the form of a ship. 500 hotel rooms
were booked to accommodate
guests. An estimated 150,000 people
participated in the event.” Reports said he had always wanted
to become a monk after he listened
to Jain’s lectures in 1981, but it took
him time to convince his family.

story of humble beginning. “Growing up life was not
easy, not after I lost my mom
at the age of three. Though I
thank my step mom for
keeping up with my rudeness
and stubbornness. Sometimes, I felt like killing myself but
God saw me through that
stage in my life and
sometimes I sit and ask God
why me? At the age of twenty, I said
to myself `I wouldn’t ask my

back to my dad but ego and pride wouldn’t let me. Then,

jeans was longer than me I
would cut it to my size to
make it look rugged! If I asked friends for a favour,
before they helped they
would ask me to do
something for them in return,
like cleaning their rooms, or
helping with course work” Tonto then went on to advise her
fans never to give up in their
struggle to make it in life. For
sometime now, Tonto has been
engaging in a soft kind of
motivational talks on social media, showing people there might be
another side to the controversial
