This is exactly the order of final results of the successful applicants. When results are released, those with highest scores from each state will be on top of the list.

One most important thing is recommendation from people that interview you. No matter how high your score is, you will not be given the scholarship if you are not recommended by the interviewers.

Oga everything boils down to grace no matter ur grades wether low or high. For example d panel might decide to grade ur SOP(the most important) full marks, ur dressing full marks even though u dres rough, ur knowledge of the subject matter full marks, recommendation full marks. Even though u hve 1st class and 5A's u cannot meet up with someone with those records even though the person has 2:1 or 2:2 and credits. I keep on saying this what PTDF are looking at is not ur certificates alone but what do u hve to offer. Let's u hve the highest point and ur recommendation and SOP were graded very low oga 4get am, they might as well assume u only cram and pass of cause we have seen so many 1st class that even 3rd class from anoda school are better than them(Facts). In 2020 PTDF Interview, one of the panel told me "U DON'T HAVE RESEARCH PUBLICATIONS AND U WANT US TO GIVE YOU SCHOLARSHIP??" can u imagine, despite I am an M.sc applicant, he did not even look at my certificate grades sef. The man was offset with me because I didn't present my original WAEC. he was just angrily asking me for other things. So u c bcuz of this d man will just grade other score very low, na Nigeria we dey where one thing will be use to disqualify any other thing. SOP/Research proposal are the most important, no body go spend him money for u to go and cram and obtain ur certificates, that's y PTDF invites even 2:2 with industry experience. Many scholars won Erasmus and Chinese government scholarships, if u check there SOP very superb. A guy was told by his panel he scored 88 points, to show u hw close he was with d panels but my guy name no show for d final list. Omoh na by grace ooo, viewing dat list of shortlisted applicants na prayer go scale u through not ur points ooooo

I assumed one can deduce the marks for 2.2 from the pattern of the marks. It is 9 marks and no mark awarded to experience. Industry experience can only help you to get shortlisted for interview with 2.2 degree and nothing more than that.

According to the last year's marking scheme for PhD: First degree was 15 points if you have first class while 12 points for second class upper, masters was 15 points if you have distinction while 12 for merit, o level 15 points if you have 5A1 (A1 is 3 points, B2 is 2.5 points, B3 is 2 points, C4 is 1.5 points, C5 is 1 point and C6 is 0.5 point), Publication is 5 points, membership certificates 10 points (5 is required) and interview/proposal takes the remaining 40 marks.
But it seems they made some changes this time around.

Yes, they do grade o level for PhD too.

I met an applicant during my interview with 4A1, 3B2, 1B3 and 1C5, second class upper in first degree, distinction in masters, 2 publications and 3 membership certificate. I was like which state are you coming from. Thank God he is not from my state.���

Well, the professor I met during my interview is very friendly and have pool of knowledge in the area of my proposal. In fact, the other industry base personnel is more friendly than the professor. We chatted deeply on my proposal which has to do with the development of hybrid intelligent model for monitoring oil and gas pipeline. They graded all my credentials, I wish I could see my score then. However, we expect a favourable output at the end.
After everything, the woman told me that I'm unimaginable, she then asked, do you know the meaning of unimaginable? I replied no ma'am. She said that means " when you meet someone and expect he cannot perform up to an average but by interacting with him you find out that he perform even above excellent". I then smiled and say thank you. And that marked the end of my interview.

Results usually take 5 to 6 weeks from the last day of the interview. We should be expecting results anytime from middle to ending of next month. May we be among the successful ones.

Someone had dropped the link of the national daily that carry the news here. According to the news, 26,000 applications were received and 8,800 applicants were shortlisted for interview.

Marks for the first and second degrees might be 10 each as you said because one of the panel members that interviewed me made mention of 18 as the marks for my Msc and B. Tech. That I know my first degree is 2:1 and my Msc degree is distinction I just concluded that they are 10 marks each. But didn't get any idea on marks for WAEC/NECO grades, publication and membership certificates. But is like they need only one publication.

1. Done with my interview. I was a little nervous cos I traveled a distance to the interview venue without much time to rest but they were friendly and realized I came from afar. But it was a success

2. Awards and publications were not asked of me. Only Academic certificates, professional membership (I had 2 including a foreign professional membership) All were scored accordingly. I think a first class and 2:1 is accorded 10 and 8 marks respectively. And and A and B in Waec/Neco is 5 and 4 marks respectively



Master your SOP. Most questions come from there.

Publication is just one but I'm not sure about professional certificate. Thank you

I have done my interview successfully, MashaAllah. The interview was smooth, few questions were asked; summary of my research proposal, why do I want to go outside for the study, that the title of my proposal is long I should summarize it before them.

All these virtual interview wahala! Hhhmm! I hope you guys are safe. Right from the beginning I foresee all these problems. And the worst part of it is that PTDF hardly respond to enquiry. May you be able to sort it out guys.

My interview is slated for Thursday (PhD) this week and everyone that wants a complete picture of the interview should remind me then. Will give you everything regarding the interview A - Z. And we shall all be here to share our testimonies when results are released God willing.

I see nothing wrong in sharing one's experience. Your destiny is predefined and nothing will ever change it. May we be favoured.

I'm thinking maybe they reserve the 3rd week for virtual interviews. They will surely send it to you.

Till now PTDF is yet to send teams interview link despite schedule. Had anyone received the Teams meeting link

English, Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Biology for Sciences. Even though some panels used to score your o-level according to your strongest subjects. The once you scored the most. Others just consider these major subjects.
Interview is always subjective, only prayers can help you pass.

Well, it all depends on the magnitude of the competition from your state of origin. You can secure the scholarship with Cs in your o-level if you are from less competitive state, otherwise you may find it difficult to overcome your competitors.
I know a number of people that sat for WAEC examination after graduation just because of PTDF scholarship, and they used the results to get the scholarship.

Is it possible for an undergraduate student with an average Neco result (Cs) who wishes to apply for PTDF (Msc) in the future to sit for another WAEC exam in order to improve his chances of receiving the scholarship, and also because most foreign institutions recognize WAEC more than NECO?

Second, the PTDF flyer states that a postgraduate applicant's SSCE results must precede his first degree. Does this imply that the applicant must have gotten the result anytime before completing his undergraduate program or it must be the exact result used in securing undergraduate admission?

They usually don't respond immediately. It normally takes a day or two before they respond in my case.

Interviews for UK and GFC usually take two weeks, but now that they included LSS interview they extended the period to three weeks.

To me, people who got emails for updates and submit were shortlisted for interviews but there are some parts of the application missing?
By the time they sent out main interview mails, all shortlisted will be contacted, for final selection.

But I don't expect the the interview exceeding 1week.

The stipend is the same irrespective of wether you are a family man or not.

Scholarship and job are two different things na... 1550 pounds is more than a million in Nigerian money and when you multiply it by 36 you will see that the money is reasonable. A friend studying in University of Manchester told me that if one can maintain an average life 15 million will be okay for him throughout his PhD for living expenses, except he lives in London. That means you may have excess of at least 15 million in just 3 years. Do you know how long it will take you in Nigeria with PhD to have 15 million naira?

I reckon the PHD is the life changing part? Because 1550 monthly isnt going to change much, you're better off getting a job in the UK.

This amount is for Msc, PhD scholars receive 1550 pounds. They call it life changing scholarship.
