Crime / Senate Moves To Probe Obasanjo, Jonathan, El-rufai, Modibbo, Bala Mohammed, Oth by fattycoal90: 9:37am On Nov 04, 2017
Former Nigerian presidents; Goodluck Jonathan and Olusegun Obasanjo, as well as former ministers of the federal capital territory, El Rufai and Bala Mohammed are all set to be probed by the Nigerian Senate.

The Senate said yesterday that it will soon begin a holistic investigation into all the issues relating to the Concession and privatization of some government property in the Federal Capital Territory to the tune of N2.7 billion, just as it described the entire process as a national disaster and leadership failure.

According to the Senate, it was disheartening that in spite of the barrage of investments in the territory, with the private owners of these government establishments making huge amount of money, the revenue portion on these investments stood at zero over the years since 2008 to the coffers of the federal government.

Against this backdrop, the Senate said that it would summon all the key players in the past governments that were responsible for the concession and privatization of these property to private individuals in the nation’s capital city.

Speaking yesterday during a meeting with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Administration, FCTA, Malam Muhammad Musa Bello and the entire leadership of the FCTA appeared before the Senate Committee on the FCT, Chairman of the Committee, Senator Dino Melaye, APC, Kogi West who vowed that the Senate would get to the root of the matter by bringing to book all the major players in the concession and privatization process of these property.

Melaye who described the process as real leadership failure and a national disaster, however warned that the country cannot allow this to continue if Nigeria as a country must grow, adding that the Committee would expose all those involved, even when it amounts to exhuming corpses if those involved are dead, adding that people pay to use Eagle Square, facilities at the International Conference Centre, ICC and other government investments, yet at the end of the day, there is zero remittance to the government.

He said, ”It is worthy of note that these FCT owned companies received huge returns on investment without making returns to FCT Administration.

The returns are in billions of Naira. They are spent and re-invested without appropriation. This is contrary to the principles of accountability and due process. The Committee is also worried about the revenue line charge on investment income. The actual performance on This charge has zero returns over The years.”

Incidentally, the concession and privatization of these government property was carried out during former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan, just as the Ministers were Mallam Nasir El- Rufai who is now the governor of Kaduna State; Dr. Aliyu Modibbo Umar; Senator Bala Mohammed, among others.

Meanwhile, the FCTA Minister, Muhammad Musa Bello told the Committee that the Concession was not carried out now, just as he said that unfortunately, all those that took the decision were not in the hall and the present government, adding that the Senate must be commended for trying to right the wrongs that were made in the past.

According to him, he had put in place a seven-man interim management team headed by Dr. Bashir Isyaku was put in place to oversee the affairs of the AICL, just as he pleaded with the Senate to give the Committee time to complete its assignment and he would then present the report to the Senate Committee.

Senator Melaye said, ”Let me say that the abysmal performance of These concessioned properties in The FCT is basically a direct consequence of leadership failure. By the twilight of The past administrations in Nigeria, a plethora of discontentment on The exercise had reached fever pitches. We as members of This Committee will continue to bridge The meaning of our resolve with realiTies Through our oversight for effective implementation.

Senator Melaye further said, “permit me to comment on some of the concessioned properties as follows:The Karu General Hospital was initially a 222-bed facility built by the FCT Administration. It is important to note that 40% of the Hospital is leased to Primus Super Specialty Hospital (an Indian HoSpital) for management. The hospital commenced operation on 19th April, 2017.

THIS DAY DOME. Abuja Investment Company Limited (AICL) was allocated Plot 702 Cadastral Zone A00, CBD, Abuja and thereafter entered into two years Lease Agreement with leaders and company popularly called “This Day Dome Arena” in respect of the said plot. The Lease Agreement was effective from May 1, 2009. The total rent payable for the term was N97,090,284:02.

“EAGLE SQUARE AND INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE CENTRE (ICC), ABUJA. The Committee observed that the Eagle Square and Abuja International Conference Centre were concessioned to the same company who had no evidence of previous facility management experience anywhere in the world, and without financial capacity to manage the facilities. This company had to fall back on FCTA to buy new equipment to kick-start its operations. It is worthy of note that the management of the two concessioned facilities makes millions of Naira on a monthly basis since the commencement of its operations.

“GARKI HOSPITAL. Garki Hospital was concessioned to Nisa Premier Hospital in partnership with Nisa Premier Apeiron Consortium. It is pertinent to state that Garki Hospital was built to provide affordable healthcare for residents of Garki District. The aim of providing the facility was defeated as the management of the hospital now charges relativety very high fees on patients due to concession of the hospital. The Committee frowns at this misdemeanor. As representatives of the people, we hold it as a responsibility to care md protect the people’s lives‘ worst harzard and misfortune specially in a time like this.

“Time and time again, I wonder deep in my heart why must it be Garki which hosts the lower and medium cadre officers in the civil service. Why not Asokoro or Maitama Hospitals, which are surrounded by high caliber of Nigerians from all walks of life.

“SHERATON HOTEL & TOWERS. Sheraton Hotel and Towers was incorporated on 16th January, 1981 as a private liability company which later transformed into public liability company in 1990. The hotel was constructed by Government with a loan of about $300 million (Three Hundred Million Dollars) borrowed from a German Bank. The debt was eventually settled by Government because there was a sovereign guarantee on it.

“The then Director-General of Bureau of Public Enterprise (BPE), Mrs. Irene Chigbue, stated clearly during the Investigative Public Hearing of this Committee in 2008 that Government Agencies were invited to subscribe to the ownership of the company in which Abuja Investment Limited was part of the subscribers.

“It is important to note that 87% of the Federal Government shares of the hotel, that is 51% was sold to core investors while other shareholders’ shares remain unchanged.

“It is worrisome to state that Sheraton Hotel and Towers was privatized for $34 million (Thirty Four Million Dollars) only.

“The Committee was reliably informed that the 51% of the shares of the hotel was valued and sold for $34 million. This means that the total value of the hotel is less than $68 million.

“This figure is very ridiculous because the hotel was constructed at a period when the Naira was stronger than the dollar ($300m). Despite the hotel’s 20 years of operations (1982 2002), the Return on Investment (ROI) was a negative quantity.Today, the facilities in the hotel is depreciating by the day. The hotel is not well managed with many of the rooms uninhabitable.

“NICON LUXURY. The sale of Sofitel International Hotel which is also known as NICON Luxury Hotel followed the same pattern as the Sheraton Hotel and Towers.

The hotel was constructed in 1980. The Federal Government, through the Ministry of Finance, owns 92.5% of the shares, FCDA owns 4.64%, NICON Insurance owns 01%. The remaining shares were distributed accordingly.

“Committee noted as follows in the course of its findings: That about $130m was spent in building the hotel; That 90% of the shares were sold for only $50m as against $130m it took the government to build the hotel: and That 19 million Euro was used for the furnishing of the hotel, bringing the total estimated cost of the asset to $200 million.

“ABUJA INVESTMENT LIMITED (AIL) Abuja Investment Limited is an investment company which houses all FCT owned companies The companies include Abuja Market Management Limited (AMML) and Abuja Investment Property Development Company (AIPDC).

“ABUJA GARDENS. The Committee has no sufficient information about The concession of Abuja Gardens.

Celebrities / I Am Now A Scapegoat For Representing The Street – Terry G by fattycoal90: 10:33am On Oct 29, 2017
Gabriel Oche Amanyi, aka Terry G, since hitting the spotlight has swam in his fair share of controversies.

In a new chat with Sunday Scoop, the singer said all the mistakes made were during his younger years and he has greatly learnt from them.

He said;

“I do not like controversies. I was only a victim of controversies. All that I have done in the past that made me controversial were mistakes anyone could commit. I am still paying the price for my past. I did certain things I can never do again. I was a young boy, who was just having fun and enjoying music. My past still haunts me as I speak to you, as I am being judged for those actions. I have done things I am not proud of.”

On photos of him smoking hemp, Terry said that life is now in his past as he can no longer be caught doing such.

He added,

“I am now a scapegoat all because I represented the streets and I was not afraid to show it. I sacrificed myself for the new generation of artistes. All I was being criticised for are those things artistes do freely now and no one talks about them.”
“I have many regrets, which I take as lessons in a way. If I had known better, I wouldn’t have done certain things.
“But I do not think what I sing or say determines who I am. One day, Nigerians will realise that art is different from reality. I made my mother love Patience Ozokwor because she had the impression that she was a wicked woman because of her roles in movies. I made my father love many musicians too. I made them understand that what they were doing was an art.
“Sooner than later, Nigerians will understand that the all the crazy things I do are just for the art; I am an actor. I am yet to do most of the things the new artistes do in their videos, yet people still see me as the most terrible person. In other countries, nobody makes an issue out of those things,” he said

Crime / Rich Sugar Daddy Turned This Lady Into A Slave And Object For S*x by fattycoal90: 1:16am On Oct 29, 2017
The love of money is the root of evil. Even for those of us who make money legitimately, if you are not very careful it can make you ‘to do and to undo’; if you know what that means.

The change from a loving sugar daddy to live-in abusive s*x machine. Read this lady’s story:

Suddenly, 28yrs old Rosemary Ndlovu can’t handle the demands of Mike Nyathi, 66. She moved into the man’s Suburbs house in Bulawayo as a 21-year-old some years back. Her hopes and dreams were to eventually become the then 59-year-old man’s wife.

Today things have changed, he has become a monster. She doesn’t want cash again, she wants to run.

He has physically abused me on several occasions, the reason being that I should be submissive to him. He also says I am a pros-titute.

As if that’s not enough, he is also in the habit of forcing himself on me and when I refuse he would beat me up. When I told him that I was no longer interested in the relationship he threatened to kill me, said Rosemary in a Zimbabwean court while crying that she’s too young to live a miserable life.

But Mr. Mike laughed off the accusations. Instead, he is of the view that his young woman has found a younger lover.

He claims, “We only had a misunderstanding after I discovered she had another boyfriend and she’s no longer coming home. I don’t know where she now stays.

The magistrate, after listening to both parties, said the man should stop the alleged verbal and physical harassment and allow her go her way if she wants.

Crime / “daddy Please Give Me Water” – Last Words From 7-year-old M*rdered By His Father by fattycoal90: 10:34am On Oct 28, 2017
The police in Rivers State have arrested one Richard Inimgba, for killing his seven-year-old son over alleged stealing.
The suspect, a resident of Amadi-Ama in Port Harcourt, had accused his son, George Inimgba, of stealing N3,200 on Friday and reportedly used a cutlass to inflict cuts on the victim after beating him up with a plank.
George was found dead the following morning.
PUNCH Metro gathered that George’s stepmother, Blessing Inimgba, was also arrested by the police for failing to rescue the boy.
It was learnt that Richard had wanted to keep George’s death a secret, but for a carpenter who raised the alarm on sighting the injuries on the boy.
Richard was said to have secretly invited the carpenter into his apartment to prepare a coffin for his burial.
Some neighbours and relatives of 39-year-old Richard, popularly known as Oyinbo, told one of our correspondents that he had been maltreating the boy since he sent his mother packing six years ago.
The wife of Richard’s elder brother, who simply identified herself as K.K., said George requested water at the point of death, but the father continued the beating.
She said the boy’s attempts to explain that he used part of the money to feed himself because he was hungry fell on deaf ears.
She said

“He beat the boy for about two hours. My husband was not around. The boy was crying and saying, ‘Daddy, give me water, I cannot walk again.’
“The boy was saying ‘Sorry Daddy’ and the man continued to ask, ‘Where is the money?’ But the boy said he was hungry and used the money to buy bread. He accused the son of stealing N3,200 from him overtime.
“The boy was always hungry and if he came to my house to eat, the stepmother would report him to the father.
“He went to his church to tell the pastor that his child was dead without explaining what led to the little boy’s death. It was when the carpenter raised the alarm that the neighbours knew that he had killed his son.
“There were machete cuts on George’s body. Some angry boys came out and gave Oyinbo the beating of his life before a team of mobile policemen arrested him and his wife.”

A neighbour, who did not want her name mentioned, said Richard was arrested last year after he burnt George’s hand in the stove.
She said, “He was arrested, detained for three days and was made to write an undertaking. It was at that point that the boy started going to school for the first time.”
A psychologist, Sri George, who first shared the story on Instagram, said he had met with George on the street on Tuesday as people rallied round him after he was c@ught stealing a snack on the way to school.
He wrote,

“What a cruel world. Last Tuesday, between the hours of 8am to 9am, I saw a crowd of people around my vicinity gathered around this little boy. So, I stopped by and inquired what happened.
“They told me that this little boy on his way to school, stole a doughnut from a shop.
“The people whom he stole the doughnut from even gave him more of it and a bottle of drink and asked him to go.
“They all claimed that his father and stepmother have the habit of starving and beating him up on a daily basis. I saw so many scars on his body.
“I took the boy to my house, interviewed him, and he told me how he had been suffering since his mother left his father.
“I gave him some biscuits, asked him to come and eat at my place anytime and promised to see his father this week before he left for school, only to learn this morning (Saturday) that his father has beaten him to death.”

The Rivers State Police Public Relations Officer, Nnamdi Omoni, said the matter was being investigated, adding that the man and the wife were in police custody.

Crime / 18-year-old Secondary School Student Shot Dead By A Policeman In Bayelsa (photo by fattycoal90: 10:23am On Oct 28, 2017
Corp0ral David Napoleon, a police officer attached to the Department of Operations at the Bayelsa State Police Command shot and killed a Senior Secondary School Student identified as Joseph Tomizibe on Thursday, October 26.

The incident which happened in Kpansia community, sparked protest with residents blocking the road and causing traffic gridlock along the busy Yenagoa-Mbiama road. The policeman was said to have been arrested, disarmed and detained for further investigations.

But the intervention of Yenagoa Caretaker Committee Chairman, Oforji Oboku, calmed frayed nerves and stopped the angry residents from attacking a traffic policeman in the area.

Spokesperson for the command, Mr. Asinim Butswat, who confirmed the incident said the victim was 18 years and was shot when the policeman was trying to escape from being attacked by irate boys and suspected cultists in the area.

“The incident occurred at about 10pm on Thursday after six armed cultists invaded the home of Corp0ral David Napoleon at Kpansia area of the state capital,” he said.

The suspect and armed cultists tore the window net and gain entrance into the house. The officer, who was home with his family, ran after the hoodlums and arrested one Stephen Ayama, male, 16 years and a member of the Greenlander cult group. He was handed over to the State Security outfit known as Door Akpo.

When he was coming back to his house with a plan to move his family out to a safer place, some suspected cultists and indigenes of the community went after him to attack him. He ran but was chased by the irate youths. He turned and shot ?at them below the knee level. The bullet hit one Tombozide Joseph, 18 years, on the thigh. He was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre.?

However, the Central Zone leadership of the Ijaw Youths Council (IYC) faulted the claims of the police.

The Zonal Chairman of IYC, Mr. Tare Porri, who visited the deceased family, said his interactions with members of the family showed the victim was 13 years old. Narrating how the incident happened, he said:
After consulting with the police and family of the deceased boy, it is clear that the deceased is 13 years old. He and the killer policeman were neighbours.

Eyewitnesses said the policeman shot twice from the kitchen to scare some suspected cultists trying to gain entry. When he came out, he saw that the boys were still around. There was an argument and when one of the boys called others on phone, the policeman shot at knee level but the bullet hit the deceased on the thigh.

Eyewitnesses and the Investigating officer confirmed to us that the boy was not a cultist. He was just witnessing the argument. I call on the State Commissioner of Police to investigate the incident and come out with a clear report to avoid a reprisal attack against security agents. Repraisal can happen when such cases are not properly investigated. Kpansia is a safe community and must be made to remain so.? said Mr. Tare Porri.

Crime / Court Fixes November 10 For Ruling On Kidnapper Evans’ Application To Quash Fre by fattycoal90: 10:11am On Oct 28, 2017
The Lawyer kidnap kingpin, Evans has on Friday urged an Igbosere High Court on Lagos Island to quash a fresh charge filed against Evans by the Lagos State Government. Olukoya Ogungbeje, called it an abuse of court processes.
In the first charge, Evans was docked with one Victor Aduba on a four-count charge bordering on conspiracy, kidnapping and unlawful possession of firearms.

They were accused of conspiring and kidnapping Mr Sylvanus Hafia.

In the second charge, Evans was docked with three other defendants — Joseph Emeka, Chiemeka Arinze, and Udeme Upong for a seven-count charge bordering on murder, attempt to commit murder, attempt to kidnap and sale and transfer of firearms.

During Ogungbeje’s argument, he told the court that his application was brought pursuant to Section 55 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Law of Lagos State 2015 and Sections 36 (6) (b) of the 1999 Constitution.

He said in the first charge which contained four-counts, “the first and second counts which border on alleged kidnapping, constituted gross abuse of court’s process because the defendant had been charged with same offence before Justice Hakeem Oshodi in Ikeja.

“We are saying, even if there are different victims on same offence, why can’t the prosecution bring the charge together for same judge to hear and determine.”

Ogungbeje also brought the issue of counts three and four, bordering on unlawful possession of firearms, saying that there was repetitions of same offence on both counts.

He said unlawful possession of firearms which the defendants were being tried for is a federal offence which should be prosecuted by the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF).

“We have checked through the court’s processes to see if there is a fiat from the AGF, authorising Lagos State to prosecute a federal offence, there is none,” Ogungbeje said.

He also argued in the same manner regarding the second charge which bordered on seven-count charge of murder, attempt to commit murder, attempt to kidnap and sale and transfer of firearms.

Ogungbeje said counts one, two and three were based on murder, adding that before murder could be sustained, there must be evidence to prove that someone was killed.

“In the proof of evidence before the court, there is no police investigation, a forensic evidence or a documentary evidence to B.uttress these points.”

Ogungbeje also said counts four and five were based on kidnapping which the defendants have been charged with, thereby making the charge repetitive.

He also said that counts six and seven were based on same sale and transfer of firearms, describing it as repetitive and duplicitous.

“We are submitting that the charge is an abuse of court process and is prejudicial to the defendants.”

Other counsel representing the other defendants, Mr Emmanuel Ochai, and Ogedi Ogu, however, agreed with the submissions of Ogungbeje.

However, Ogu, who represented the third defendant, Chiemeka Arinze, asked the court to remand the defendants in prison to enable Arinze to get medical help.

The Prosecutor, Ms. Titilayo Sh!tta-Bey, however, urged the court to dismiss all the arguments made by the defendant’s counsel.

She said that there was no abuse of court process in the way the case was instituted because a count should contain only one offence.

She said that the co-defendants in the case, the time and place the offences were committed should also be taken into cognizance while drafting a charge.

“The offences were committed in different places, the victims are different and the co-defendants are different.

“I submit there are sufficient grounds to prosecute the defendants, the charges are drafted in accordance with provisions of ACJL,” Sh!tta-Bey said.

“It is not feasible to bring the case before one court for reasons of logistics, it will make the case of the prosecution difficult to proof.”

Sh!tta-Bey also said that the prosecution had the fiat of the AGF, adding that the fiat was a general fiat obtained in January and it is attached to the prove of evidence.

Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo, however, remanded the defendants in Kirikiri Maximum Prisons and adjourned the case until Nov. 10 for ruling on the application.

Politics / Gov. Fayose Owns The G-class That Got Burnt In Lagos, His Driver Seen Packing Bu by fattycoal90: 11:30pm On Oct 26, 2017
Traffic officials have claimed that the driver to Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose, took out cash from the Mercedes Benz G-Class that was razed to ashes on the Oshodi-Apapa Expressway on Tuesday.
Fayose escaped death after his official car caught fire and according to Punch, the Governor escaped into another car which was in his convoy.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) and the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) later responded to the incident.
A traffic official and witness said the driver of the G-Class, who waited behind until the fire was put off, later went in to pack some burnt N500 notes and other items in the car.
“The accident happened around 1.30pm on the Oshodi-Apapa Expressway inward Airport Road. It happened on the Oshodi bridge, not too far from the LASTMA’s headquarters.
“We cannot tell the exact cause of the fire. We gathered from those at the scene that the governor was in the G-Class when the accident happened and he quickly escaped into another car in his convoy.
“On getting to the scene, we saw the driver who tried to cover his face with a Fez cap. He watched helplessly as the fire raged on. We alerted the state fire service and LASEMA. The LASEMA response unit had to take one way to access the accident scene because the road was blocked because of the inferno.
“On arrival, they were able to douse the fire. The vehicle was seriously burnt. The driver did not talk to anybody. We saw as he started packing some of the burnt cash in the car. They were N500 notes. He packed the money with some other items into a polythene bag. This was in the presence of traffic officials and the police. We later cleared the traffic as the carcass of the car was towed away by LASEMA,” he said.

Politics / ‘buhari’s Government Good At Lies & Propaganda’- Ex President Goodluck Jonathan by fattycoal90: 8:06am On Oct 20, 2017
President Muhammadu Buhari is characterised by lies and propaganda.

Jonathan spoke in Abuja on Thursday when he received one of the national chairmanship aspirants of the Peoples Democratic Party, Prof. Tunde Adeniran, and members of his campaign team in his office.

The party will hold its national convention in Abuja on December 9 to elect its national officers.

Jonathan said the solidarity being enjoyed by the party even though it lost election at the centre in 2015 showed that “there is something in the PDP.”

While pledging to speak up some day on the achievements of the PDP in its 16 years in power, the former President took a swipe at the Minister of Works, Power and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Fashola (SAN), who as a state governor reportedly said that a serious government at the centre must be able to fix power within six months.

Jonathan was the president when Fashola made the statement.

The former president observed that more than two years of the APC Federal Government, to which Fashola belongs as a minister, the government had not been able to fix power.

He noted that Fashola who made the statement is incidentally in charge of power today.

Jonathan said the Buhari government had not done anything since it came to power on May 29, 2015.

“The PDP administration for 16 years did well and will continue to do well but this administration has done nothing. They deployed propaganda and lies at a professional level.

“In the power sector, we did well to revive it. A state governor attacked our government, saying that any serious government should be able to fix the power challenge within six months.

“Today, APC has been in power for how many years now? Fortunately the then governor is in the APC government as a minister.”

Politics / Evans’ Girlfriend Amaka Offor Breaks Silence On Her Alleged ‘rape’ By Policemen by fattycoal90: 11:02am On Oct 17, 2017
Amaka Offor, kidnap kingpin Chukwudubem Onwuamadike, aka Evans’ girlfriend, has refuted claim by Evans’ lawyer, Olukoya Ogungbeje, that policemen sexually molested her.

Amaka, who expressed shock at the lawyer’s comment, said she had never met him.

Amaka, according to DailyPost, said that she was yet to speak with Evans since he was arrested on June 9, adding that her attempt to visit him at the Kirikiri Maximum Prison has been unsuccessful.

Read her statement below:

“I don’t know where that lawyer got his story from and I have never met him”, she told Sources.

“I have also not seen or spoken to Evans since he was arrested. I changed my phone number after he was arrested and I don’t think he has the new phone number.

“After he was charged to court where he pleaded guilty; I tried to see him in prison and speak with him, but I was not allowed to see him.

“The wardens did not tell me why I could not see him, but they took the food I brought for him and promised that they will give it to him.

“I was troubled when I read the story of the lawyer accusing the policemen, who arrested Evans, of sexually molesting me, while they were trying to use me to lure Evans out of hiding.

“I am not a baby and I know when I am being sexually molested and abused. Nothing of such happened and I think I have to set the record straight.

“One week before Evans was arrested, some policemen accosted me on my way to the market and arrested me. Though, they were hostile to me at the time they arrested me.

“I was completely in shock when they told me that Evans who I know and still call Chukwuebuka Mike, was a robber and kidnapper. I did not believe it.

“They later told me that they wanted me to lure him to my house because I told them that he was fond of my children and he normally spent time with us.

“The policemen were in my house, I was always in my room, and they were always in the sitting room. They provided all the money we used in cooking throughout their one week stay in my house.

“They were strategizing on how to arrest Evans. They also bought the fuel we used in powering the generator.

“On the day Evans was arrested, he called me around 5:am and the policemen brought the phone to me in my room and gave it to me. I answered the call and he told me not to drop the call.

“I thought I was standing by the gate and I did not put on any slippers. I walked out of the gate on barefoot. When I opened the gate, I saw him parked across the road and I entered into his vehicle.

“The moment I saw him, I was panting and he asked what was happening. I told him policemen were in my house for one week and they were looking for him. He zoomed off immediately and took me to Iyana-Ipaja where he dropped me.

“He left with my phone. That was the last time I saw him. I was surprised when his lawyer said I was sexually abused by the policemen who arrested him.”

Politics / UPDATE!!! Nobody Should Kill Nigerian In South Africa – Jacob Zuma by fattycoal90: 9:32pm On Oct 15, 2017
The President of South Africa, Jacob Zuma, Sunday, warned that no Nigerian citizen should be killed in any parts of South Africa.

President Jacob Zuma of South-Africa, Governor Rochas Okorocha (1st right), Mrs Jacob Zuma (1st left), and chairman Jacob Zuma foundation Mrs Dudu MYeni when the Jacob Zuma foundation and Rochas foundation college of Africa signed MoU in owerri on Saturday , October 14, 2017.

Zuma was quoted to have made the statement, through a release issued to newsmen in Owerri, by the Chief Press Secretary, to Governor Okorocha, Mr. Sam Onwuemeodo, after receiving the Imo merit award and signing of Memoranda of understanding between Zuma foundation and Rochas foundation of Africa.

Also in the release, Zuma said that no South Africa citizen should be killed. Just as the president, called for stronger partnership between Nigeria and South.

According to the release, “President of South Africa, Mr. Jacob Zuma has said that a South African must not kill a Nigerian and a Nigerian must not kill a South African, adding that the relationship between Nigeria and South Africa should be stronger than any other part, for the sake of the Continent of Africa.

“Africans must come together to address African problems. We are the same people. We cannot succeed if we handle problems as individuals.

We need to recognize that we are one. “I am an ordinary freedom fighter belonging to the African National Congress (ANC).

But in 1994, I felt, I have been part of those who have made oppressed people of South Africa to accomplish an important mission of liberating themselves. “But political freedom without economic freedom is not enough freedom.

That is why in our era, we have a government that will begin to make economic laws, because if the economic power is not there, there is very little you can do for the poor and the oppressed.

“Then I have also realized that the time comes for nations to speak the truth, and I’m among those who are speaking the truth now, because the more things they said about me, that are not true, the more stubborn I become in my agitation.

“Don’t be dismayed. For these reasons, I stand here being seen as a Hero by the leadership of Imo State in Nigeria and to make me feel empowered that what I say, think and believe in, is correct.”

Earlier in his remark, Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo state, said: “We in Imo State have chosen to identify with this great leader who meant well for his people; who had to toil, struggle and fight for the liberation of his people, not minding the consequences thereafter.

“This to me is courage. This to me is strength of character. Very importantly, Mr. President, you are a man with uncommon history.

One who never saw the four walls of a classroom and who in the course of struggling to liberate his people, landed in prison for 10 years and still counting.”

Politics / I’m Fair To Ndigbo In Appointment – President Buhari by fattycoal90: 11:43am On Oct 14, 2017
President Muhammadu Buhari Friday said that his government has been fair to the South East geo-political zone in terms of appointment which he said was evidenced in the allocation of four prominent ministerial positions to the zone.

The President also assured leaders from the zone that his administration will benefit them more from roads and coastal rail projects, which he said were of critical importance to the economy.

But the President of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Chief John Nnia Nwodo told the President that the South East had remained marginalized by successive administrations, which he stated was the reason behind the recent agitations by the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.

According to Nwodo, IPOB is a symptomatic consequence of the continuous marginalization of the south east over a long period of time.

President who met with the leaders of the South East led by the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu which had in attendance the President of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Chief Nwodo, the governors and federal lawmakers from the area in a closed-door at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, told them that 2nd Niger Bridge, the East-West Road and the Coastal rail project, were receiving utmost attention from his administration.

President Buhari in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, said counterpart funding from the Chinese government would substantially fund these projects, which when completed will improve the welfare, well-being and economy of the people in the region.

He said, “I know the Chinese are very competent in handling such projects and we will ensure that we get the money for the projects to take off. I thank you for articulating your demands and I want to assure that we are doing our best for the country.

“If we can stop people from stealing, then there will be more resources to put into projects that will create employment for Nigerians.”

Responding to allegations of under-representation of Igbos in his government, the President said: “I gave south-east four substantive ministers in the ministries of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Investment, Science and Technology and Labour.

“Seven states in the North got Ministers of State and of the two Ministries headed by your sons, I cannot take any decision on foreign policy and investments without their input.”

He said he would soon visit states in the zone, adding, “I want to assure you that I came into government with a clear conscience and I will also leave with a clear conscience.”

Earlier, the President of Ohaneze, while articulating the demands of the zone to the President highlighted the issue of state creation, restructuring, federal projects in the South East namely Enugu-Onitsha road, Enugu-Port Harcourt road and Aba-Ikot-Ekpene road, among others.

Nwodo also demanded urgent presidential interventions on the Enugu Airport, reticulation of the gas-pipelines in the South East and the standard gauge plan for railway construction.

Commending the President’s remarkable achievements on security and the fight against corruption, Nwodo declared: “we are ready to work with you. We are determined to work with you. We know you are a decisive leader and we know God will continue to give you the wisdom to govern Nigeria.’’

Also speaking, Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State expressed satisfaction on the outcome of their discussions with the President on critical issues and topics affecting the region.

Umahi, who is the Chairman of South East Governors Forum said, “You have no hatred for any state. You have treated all states with equality. What one state gets in the north, the other gets in the south.”

Speaking to State House correspondents after the meeting, Chief Nwodo said, “We had a frank and robust exchange, we discussed problems of the south east and as head of state he is the finale repository of an appeal for the resolutions of those problems. We went into great details about each of those problems and i have confidence that they will give it the attention there deserve.

“We dealt with problems of development in the south east; basic capital projects which have for a very long time been neglected not just from this government but for a very long time, major arteries of federal highways in the south east have been in complete state of disrepair. Enugu-Onitsha, Enugu-Port Harcourt, Aba-Ikot Ekpene are virtually impassable.

“We talked about the inland waterways and the dredging of the River Niger. We talked about the reticulation of gas pipeline on the south east. We export gas from the south east to the other parts of the country, but there is no reticulation of the pipeline and industrial clusters in the south east.

“We talked about the only international airport we have in the south east which has very bad infrastructure in terms of the buildings that have ravaged by …

“We got assurance from the president that he will deal with each of those problems.”

On whether the issue of alleged marginalization of the zone came up in the meeting, he said, “That was the opening line and that was why we single out these things. Like I have said these problems have been there overtime and we have had several presidents, it didn’t just happen in the last two years. But we expressed the desire that he should be able to address them.”

Also responding to the question on whether the president’s promises could be trusted, Nwodo said, “There is no reason for me to doubt them because this is the first time I have had this interaction with him. I have the feeling that he spoke to us very frankly.”

On whether the issue of IPOB came up in their discussion, he said, “We came here for the issues of developments in our place. We talked about IPOB as a symptomatic consequence of the continuous marginalization of the south east over a long period of time.

Understandably our children are restive and we want to make sure that the federal government is responsive to the issues that have cumulated in the quintessence of these agitations.”

Speaking on the issue of devolution of powers, Nwodo said, “We did talk about the issue of devolution of powers, the constitution, the paucity of the states and local governments in our place and the president has asked that he be given time to look at this more holistically”.

Members of the South East delegation included, the Deputy Senate president, Ike Ekweremadu, the President General of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Chief John Nnnia Nwodo, Governors Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State, Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia state and the deputy governors of Imo and Anambra states.

Others were the Chairman of South East senate caucus, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, the Deputy Minority Leader in the House of Representatives, Chukwuma Onyema, the Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige, Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama and the Minister of Trade and Investment, Dr. Okechukwu olelema.

According to CBS Lagos, a Medical Examiner’s Office autopsy revealed that Alcohol was a substantial factor in the 35-year-old’s Tagbo autopsy report. He was also found to have alcohol and drugs in his system capable of better easing him into the early stages of hypothermia, later leading to his death.

Toxicology tests detected alcohol (Bacardi 151, 75.5% Alcohol) and topiramate, a medication for epilepsy and/or migraines in a man’s system, in Tagbo Umeike’. His blood-alcohol concentration (BAC) was at 0.112, higher than the 0.08 legal limit for normal human being state, the coroner’s office stated.

Tagbo Umeike’ didn’t have a prescription for any type of topiramate medication, according to his family. The coroner’s office claims the amount of drug in Tagbos’ system was in the “therapeutic range.”, according to Tagbo autopsy report

“Alcohol and topiramate are synergistic. When combined, the effect of either or both drugs is enhanced. Topiramate, like alcohol, can cause dizziness, impaired memory, impaired concentration, poor coordination, confusion and impaired judgment,” a news release said. “Central nervous system depression, or impairment, combined with cold exposure can hasten the onset of hypothermia and death.”

The circumstances Tagbo Umeikes’ death sparked controversy Through out the Internet and The Physical World. New details have emerged as to why Tagbo Umeike reportedly died after allegedly getting drunk at his own birthday attended by Nigerian popstar,Davido.

Sources however blamed Davido for watching the deceased as he drank himself until he passed out.

“After he passed out, I think…I don’t know what happened…the CCTV showed that Davido was asking him to come into his car but I think he (Tagbo) didn’t want to enter into Davido’s car, then they forced him into his own car…then there was this blackout. Now they don’t want to tell us how he got to the hospital.

That is the question. How did he get to the hospital? Because the police met his car and his body in the hospital with no one” – the eyewitness added.
