Bank Guarantee is a way projects are been monitored. The bank holds the funds for the transaction and releases to you in batches depending on the trenches of the transaction. And once you have done one trench, and it has been certified okay and delivered, you get the next payment.

To get a BG, you need to walk upto your bank with the contract agreement and show them everything. They would issue you a BG after they may have gotten approval from the bank Management and you would be charged for the BG. Most times the Bank may ask for collateral if the money to the guaranteed is very high, but if not you can use domicilation of the trenches of payment as your collateral

You can contact Freelancer Customer Care telling them you are not happy collecting the job as the guy/lady hasn't created a milestone. Ask them if they could help reverse the transaction as you are not comfortable with it and wish to drop it (make sure you tell the job owner your intension). Forget about the negative review for now, it's beta you don't do the job than doing it and you regret later. Your mind is always your director, follow it

I asked for a milestone from a job I'm about to do and the guy is insisting he only pays at the completion of the task. What do I do in such situation. Also if I'm to cancel an already accepted project, how do I go about it

I was so excited about winning a bid before. How do I decline, do I tell him straight up that I'm no longer interested. Will I be penalized?

Uhmmmmm, I had one like that before, I accepted and they deducted the 10% from my account. The guy was saying he won't pay until completion and I didn't want to take the job but I took it because I felt I was also sharpening my own skill. I told the guy I won't give him the job until he set a milestone ( I also went to check his profile and noticed that all his jobs where not complete) that even made me more scared.

After a while, I wrote to Freelancer to refund my 10% as I didn't do the job again. They did return it because the guy was removed from Freelancer because of his inability to pay people and was termed a scam.

So my advice is please be careful with such persons. If he is genuine he would put a milestone for u

Is quiet unfortunate that this thread which is suppose to be an avenue for knowledge has turned out to be a means to defraud people. A lady i met through this avenue. I paid a lady here by name: Eleboda Olajumoke aka Creamandchic to couch me on article writing and other skills needed on freelancer since then, she disappeared into the thin air. I have sent countless emails but no reply. Is getting to 3 weeks now and am really really sad. Please beware of who you pay as regards to training.

I dont think it's a problem. When I wanted to verify myself, I sent them documents with my maiden name and explained to them that I was married. You may be asked to send your credentials when you add them as part of your
profile.

My broda, it's based on trust. Maybe I just got favoured but it's only one of my employers that I get paid outside freelancer. I use my PayPal to recieve payments and it has been going well since. But pls be sure that you can get your money before you try that
