I watched this video of Gbenga Sesan and I am so pleased that we still have youths that are able to think rationally in Nigeria without unnecessary sentiment on religion or where you come from.. He spoke about the POWER OF OUR VOTE, I hope Nigerians will TRY CHANGE FOR ONCE AND IF IT DOES NOT WORK WE WILL VOTE THE OFFICIAL OUT IN 4 YEARS INSTEAD OF STICKING TO SAME FAILURES OF THE PAST. watch the video below of him addressing Buhari https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qpB0Kvyr9_s |
The last time I cried was when ...... Nigeria voted Jonathan in the last election because he had no shoes, his name was Goodluck, Pastor Adeboye prayed for him and he was from a certain tribe....In this 21st CENTURY JESUSSSSSSSSSSS I weep for my country..Jonathan will rule for another 7 years We deserve whatever leaders we get |
Mr. Lanre Fashesin has not been heard from in the last 3 months after he was kidnapped at a site in Edo State. The family had up until now made frantic efforts to secure his release to no avail. The Police also claim to have hit a dead end and seem to have become clueless as to how else to find the kidnapped engineer. Mr. Fashesin was working at the site where he was kidnapped as a contractor for Dextron Engineering Limited based in Lagos. The family today put out a release appealing to members of the public to kindly join in the search for Lanre who recently just got married. Engr. Lanre Fashesin, referred to by the kidnappers as ‘Larry’ (see picture) was kidnapped around a Niger Delta PHCN project site in Iguiye village(between Okada & Benin City) 4 months ago. We have not heard anything from him or the kidnappers for about 3 months now. Lanre is 6 foot 3 inches tall, and speaks Yoruba and English fluently. Please call 08069439240 if you have any information & spread the word.

When someone pays you for your services and you sign a written agreement you will be there at a certain time, it is a binding contract as far as the law is concerned here in US, you dare not mess around with the customer because you can be sued and you will have to pay through your nose. Lastly, this attitude of Nigerian vendors/musician collecting money and sending one useless idiot for your event or showing up late is absolutely ridiculous..It is madness at its peak.. Ayubas case is not the first, musicians will always blame it on traffic! Learn to put yourself in the shoes of the person that has planned and prayed for a memorable event all his life. Lets get realistic here mehn.. (Do not support beating though but I guess its because we do not have a court system) |
what was your experience?

Jacqueline Sarfo My wedding was on: 16th June 2012 My wedding was at: Christ Chapel Church & Foxchase Manor I would not have compromised on: My dress and shoes In retrospect maybe I shouldn’t have made a fuss about: The guest list I tore my hair out when: I found out that the cocktail hour didn’t start exactly at 5pm but at 5:30pm. During the entire process prior to the big day I was beyond a bridezilla. I spent hours going over the guest list, food menu, and doing a walk through with the vendors at the location of the reception (Foxchase Manor) to make sure everyone knew exactly what I was expecting. I was involved in every expect of the wedding even though I had 2 wedding coordinators and my mother. I wanted reassurance from everyone that the day was going to be perfect. On the day of my wedding it was picture perfect, we had wonderful weather in Virginia, so I was over the moon since the cocktail hour was going to be outdoors. The ceremony went without a hitch so I was extremely thrilled. When I arrived at the reception hall, I became an extreme bridezilla when I found out that the guests were not offered the appetizers for cocktail hour. I called my caterer along with the staff and gave them a good piece of my mind. Now I so regret the angry call. But at that moment, I wanted everything to go perfectly so I felt my nack for being on time and starting things on time was going unnoticed. I was really upset but once everything started, I knew I had to have a good time regardless of whither it went smoothly or not. I had an amazing time at my wedding and my husband and I laughed about the hours we spent on the stress and our one regret was not thoroughly enjoying the process The high point of my wedding: Being announced as husband and wife.

Example from Dooshima Oyewole My wedding was on: 16th December 2011 My wedding was at: The Ecumenical Christian Center Abuja I would not have compromised on: Makeup, music and photography. In retrospect maybe I shouldn’t have made a fuss about: I really didn’t make a big fuss about anything; but I would definitely NEVER ever do aso-ebi again. The wahala was just too much. I will definitely just have a color pallete to follow for my daughter’s wedding. I tore my hair out when: On that morning I came down from my hotel room to have breakfast with my sister and we passed the banquet hall at the hotel where the reception was to hold in about 6 hours and the decorator was NOWHERE to be found! I almost passed out. I called her up only to find out she had forgotten and even travelled to another state! At that point what can you do? I took an advil enjoyed my breakfast and went to start makeup and hair. My faith did not allow me to fret. Between my husband, sister and event co-ordinator for the day, a solution came up. The high point of my Wedding: Looking back the high point of my wedding for me was walking down the aisle with my dad while one of my favorite songs “Na Gode” was sung live by Solomon Lange. This is my most cherished moment because my dad passed away a short while after my wedding and I’m grateful to have shared that moment with him.

Information reaching me from twitter says May D and P Square are parting ways, any confirmation about this? |
Nigerians are so funny,I dont know if Jonathan forced himself into power, We need to learn to face the consequences of our decision...For every Nigerian that voted Jonathan and is complaining about the state of things, I will strongly suggest you go wash your brains somewhere just so that you can recollect how you voted Jonathan and not PDP in the last election. Nigeria sounds cursed to me if not cursed, otherwise at a time when the Arab Uprising was on and every country was trying to liberate themselves Nigerians had the opportunity to do so without shedding any blood but we listened to a man without no shoes... Nigeria should live with its woes until their minds get deliverance. I will not be surprised 2015 Nigerians will repeat their folly.Proverbs 26:11 As a dog returns to its vomit, so a fool repeats his folly. |
Why the noise Nigerians!! We deserve the president we get. We looked at CORRUPTION in the eyes (PDP) and we embraced it with all our heart. We laughed while Buhari Wept Nigeria will live with this STIGMA(PDP) until they wake up from their slumber. WAITING FOR THE NEXT ELECTION, I WONT BE SURPRISED NAIJA WILL REPEAT THEIR FOLLY AGAIN GOODLUCK |

The question is What can be done about this 419 branding that has destroyed our image both within and outside the country? What are the possible solutions? |
Can Nigeria ever get their name out of this mud forever , What can be done about this 419 branding that has destroyed our image both within and outside the country? |
http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/sideshow/australian-woman-turns-tables-nigerian-scammers-175755518.html Can Nigeria ever get their name out of this mud forever , What can be done about this 419 branding that has destroyed our image both within and outside the country? Nigerian email scams have become nearly as commonplace as the Internet itself. But one Australian woman wound up in jail after turning the tables--to the tune of $30,000--on a group of con artists. The Courier-Mail reports that Sarah Jane Cochrane-Ramsey, 23, was employed as an "agent" in March 2010 by the Nigerians, but didn't know they were scam artists. Her "job" was to provide access to an Australian bank account opened in her name where the Nigerians could then transfer money they had received from a phony car sales website. Cochrane-Ramsey was told she could keep eight percent of the transfers. But, then she decided to steal from the thieves themselves. According to the Courier-Mail, she received two payments, totaling $33,350, but spent most of it on herself. If you're not familiar with the so-called Nigerian Scam, also known as the (419) scam, or Advanced Fee Fraud, here's a brief explainer: the fraud works by convincing an individual to give money and/or bank account access to a third-party in exchange for future financial rewards. Most commonly, the scam artist will claim to be a wealthy Nigerian individual looking to move his vast financial resources to another country. He then promises the fraud victim a hefty payment in exchange for a temporary loan or bank account access in order to facilitate the move. Of course, the fraud victim never receives the promised payout and instead usually ends up losing thousands of dollars in the process. According to Scam Busters, the Advance Fee Fraud scams often target small businesses and charities. And while the scam has been around for years, the U.S. Financial Crimes Division of the Secret Service still receives a reported 100 calls a day from people claiming to be victims of a (419) crime. But, back to the Cochrane-Ramsey case. The real victims who thought they were buying cars online reported the scam to the police, who traced the account back to Cochrane-Ramsey. She was ordered to appear in Brisbane District Court and plead guilty to one count of aggravated fraud. For now, the court judge is allowing Cochrane-Ramsey time to come up with the money to pay off the fraud victims while she awaits sentencing in March. Interestingly, Cochrane-Ramsey is not the first person to turn the tables on Nigerian scammers. In 2008, the radio program This American Life ran a story on some anonymous pranksters who sent a Nigerian scam artist on a wild goose chase that spanned 1,400-miles into war-torn Chad for a promised cash payout at a local Western Union branch. And they convinced him to do this while carrying an anti-Muslim/pro-George W. Bush note, which stated his intention to rob the Western Union. Their entire plan was spelled out on this website, dedicated to turning the tables on Internet con artists (Warning: contains Not Safe for Work language).

Dbanj Pride goes before a fall!I know you have forgotten where you came from, -You do not care about millions of Nigerians that can not put three square meal on their table everyday, people wallowing in poverty! -You do not care about people whose livelihood depends on that petrol they increased! -You do not know anything about whats going on, Don't worry God will humble you some day! Your money will not rescue you then, I pray you don't go the way of Shina Peters and others that sang for Abacha, Mehn D Banj people are suffering |
Georgee, God will visit you and your family at this critical time, what was your role at the bank? what were you doing at the bank?what skills do you have? Tighten your belt brother and move on, crying, feeling so down and blaming yourself will make matters worse, 1. Just like everybody said start looking for ways to cut cost like your rent 2. If you have people skills what can you do around wedding ceremonies or parties that Nigerians spend thousands of Naira on every weekend? Do you know how to take pictures ? Do you have any technical knowledge like computer skills? You can start teaching people not necessarily in Lagos. 3.Have you thought about relocating to another part of Nigeria that's less expensive like Ibadan? 4.Use facebook and the internet to your benefit, your old friends, friends of friends, church, 5.You could pick up a skill that's very relevant, cooking 6. What can you and your wife do together?Whats her background? God will visit you guys in this stormy weather,YOU WILL BOUNCE BACK IN LIFE |
I just cant imagine giving up your life for Nigeria! smhhhh Who remembers the guy that died during the Occupy Nigeria protest again, Nigeria wasted one of her citizens, We dont have value for human life, I just cant describe Nigeria we are too much! |
Goddddddddddd WHAT A COUNTRY! Human beings are so complex, you cannot understand them, I wish the mind of an average Nigerian politician and suicide bomber could be studied . The end surely is near |
Fellow Nairalanders, 1. What do you remember about Nigerian weddings and what makes a wedding ceremony interesting and a memorable one ? 2. What are the best event centres in Ibadan for wedding ceremony and the cost if possible (Outdoor or Indoor)? If outdoor, whats the best place with a very good scenery otherwise is it better to rent a beautiful hall? Any suggestions will be appreciated! |
The name "BUHARI" is beginning to ring bells in my ears again , Boko Haram + Fuel Subsidy = Everything Na Trouble Trouble Na Trouble Trouble (Sorry Double Double) I hope Nigerians will learn in 2015. |
Ouuuuucchhh! Na today yansh don dey back! I was waiting to see how far we could go with all the energy everybody had last week for the occupy occupy, Nigerians will continue to be Nigerians, Labour will continue to be Labour , Ghana Must Go will continue to change hands, Government knows how to break the strikes and they know Nigerians will shout today and they will adapt again as usal, We had all the chance to rewrite our history and fortune last year without a bloody revolution like middle east but we blew the opportunity All the best in 2015! If you guys like again vote the wrong people in, Rich people at the top will continue to milk Nigeria dry and we will continue to complain, I supported Buhari in the last election from diaspora, |
Uhmm Prayer ! Is prayer the solution ?I have been praying since when I was in Sunday School.I think religion has really blinded NIGERIA so much that we have lost our ability to just sit down and think. |
Millions of families go to bed without any food on their table, girls are forced into prostitution just to make ends meet, youths with great potentials get lured into Yahoo Yahoo tarnishing the already messed up reputation of Nigeria… The question is what exactly is your church doing with the millions of Naira they get from tithes they collect every Sunday? How long are we going to blame government for all our problems? We all know that corruption has eaten so deep into every aspect of government but for God sake what exactly is the church and mosque doing to empower the youth, how often do you hear your church talking about creating opportunities for people who are helpless? Can you tell us what your church is doing to help the society apart from building new churches across the world? Bowen University cost 650,000 per semester Covenant University 640,000 per semester Benson Idahosa 450,000 per semester Redeemers 450,000 per semester Babcock 450,000 per semester These schools were all built by the sweat of members who kept sowing seeds ,special offering seeds , first fruit seeds, redemption seed, thanksgiving seed, harvest seed, tithes, pastors, birthday seed, church building seed, evangelism seed, father’s day seed, mother’s day seed, children’s day seed, pastors day seed, olive oil seed etc Only the rich politician can send their children to this schools so what happens to the children who cannot even afford basic necessities of life ( Food ,Shelter, Clothing)? What are your thoughts? Should we demand more from the churches in solving the enormous problems confronting the common man on the street? (Nigeria's problems really gets to me just like every body in diaspora so kindly think twice before responding to this thread, you could either be a positive change agent providing solution or you could be a devils agent , )

Patience and proper management are two words many Nigerians and NFF do not have in their dictionary. We want to build rome in a day! Because SiaSia didnt qualify the team he was sacked;in our usual way of doing things ,we will bring new hands again to come start the building from the scratch, once those ones fail again they will be sacked again and we will keep repeating the same thing we have done in the past. Brazil and other top teams across the world knows about grooming from the base, without a proper foundation,NOTHING good can come out of all the Obafemi, Mikel Obi, We need to build a new team and restore discipline in Super Chickens! Give Siasia a chance and some time to figure this out NFA(No Future Ambition), The only good thing that Nigeria is known for across the world has been destroyed all in the name of politics |
NFF settles for Keshi, Oliseh …The Sun Publishinghttp://www.sunnewsonline.com/webpages/features/sportsonthehour/2011/oct/26/sportsbreak-26-10-2011-001.html So is this the solution to Super Chickens problems? |
Guys let us forget about the fact that he is an American Citizen, The bastard was born by Nigerian parents, With this new revelation about him having a prior case, it is now clearly obvious that stealing is in his blood. Everyday for the thief and one day for the owner. He must have been doing it for a long time. Our leaders are known for stealing thats why I wonder what becomes of the next generation. FOR EVERY NIGERIAN OUT THERE THAT CONTINUES TO TRY DISGRACE US BOTH WITHIN AND OUT OF THE COUNTRY MAY THE ALMIGHTY GOD CONTINUE TO EXPOSE THEM. I recommend 30 - 40 years in prison for him so that others can learn .Our parents worked hard in life before they made it;they didnt make it overnight but endurance coupled with CONTENTMENT (AMOJUKURO) was all they had (This is what the average Nigerian youth no longer wants to embrace.) |
