homesteady: Will you keep quiet? It is because we have not tabled Kante's case, that is why you have the guts to still be talking. Or you think we don't know that he is now a waste product in Chelsea? Say what? |

olabode89: The return to a back 3 is looking like a masterstroke as it negates defensive frailty of the team especially those of Rudiger as he is more composed playing as a LCB than a conventional CB. The only problem I can see is the inability of the forward players taking their chances and rapping up games early. For example Chelsea should have scored 2 to 3 goals in the first half with the good number of chances and excellent positions the team got into.
It will be interesting to see how guys like Chilwell, Ziyech, Havertz, and Abraham are utilized in this new system. Chilwell is looking fūcked though as Alonso is one of the best LWB in the world and Chilwell's spot in the England team for the Euros is in great danger from Shaw and James Justin (at Leicester). Correct. We get into excellent positions but not really creating the chances. I am confident that we will get there plus, boys need to learn take shots outside the box. Chilwell is obviously not chilling well, cause at the moment, Alonso ain't going no where unless his performance drops. I just like how sharp we look and the movement on and off the ball. Its with purpose. |

Waiting for the "new manager effect" to pass before we know how far but I do like what I see. Massive improvement. |

So far so good.
1st half - dominant display, fast passes, lacked the cutting edge but we will get there. 2nd half - less dominant, a few mistakes here and there but got the job done.
Mason runs a lot but if I were Havertz, I wouldn't worry too much. He (Kai) only has to bring on something different to Mount - Intelligence. Good to see CHO growing in confidence. Kante, good to see him back but man, was he rusty after coming on? Rudiger was solid, not sure if he made any mistake. 3 at the back might be the way forward. We watch and see.
Summary: 3 matches, 3 goals, 3 clean sheets. Welcome Mr. Tuchel.
Only way is up!

hensben: Emotion and sentiment aside, Marina did right by not allowing Lampard overhauling the team, he is still learning the act of managing to be given such privilege, it will become a disaster. Lampard was appointed due to transfer ban. Said this before, glad you saw that too. |

Even after just 2 matches, it appears the board made a sound decision by appointing Tuchel. The football is different and maybe not that efficient yet but its so pleasing to watch. Proper football. The hunger, the desire, the passion, the passing, the movement on and off the ball, and Alonge scoring a cracker.
What's not to like?

New era. New manager.
1st half : Some painstaking, uber patient build up, you would think that they were playing in slow motion.
2nd half: Improved performance, we didn't just rely on cross and nod, we tried playing in between the lines, passed the ball faster and the hunger to win the ball back quickly was evident. Havertz could have won it.
Best player I think was CHO, his best game so far. He is just missing that final decisive pass to up his game but his work ethic has definitely improved.
Chiwell definitely struggled and good to see we had a manager who actually reads the game. Ziyech didn't do much and was not surprised he got substituted.
Tuchel failed to win his first match (not happy about that at all) but surely everyone can see the improvement. Looking forward to the next match. |

Are you for slavery, yes or no? Wrong answer gets the head cut off and in Little Onions voice "Old testament style". Doubt it will have a 2nd season but then you never know. I do wonder though what the real story of John Brown was. |

Lampard fans can give excuses from now till whenever but the man himself didn't do himself any favours. He was just too much of a rookie to manage a club like Chelsea and at this level. As a manager there was nothing exceptional about him, only managed to pack unwanted records.
A couple of more years in clubs with less pressure as a manager should do him some good. |

Re Lampard. Wow. I was critical of him at some stage but didn't see this coming, not this season.
Thinking about it, my guess is that he was hired just to see the club through the transfer ban period and board may have felt Lampard could potentially be able to do the job full time by finishing in the top 4.
The 200 million expenditure changed the dynamics and must have increased the pressure on Lampard, who found himself unequipped for the job, not with the constant experiments and uninspired performances. Goodluck to him on his next job.
So you guys say it's Tuchel next? |

This Lampard's team can't even get the basics right, so slow in their movement on and off the ball and always last to every second and third balls. The players suddenly look out of sync. They've got just 2 options - Cross and or pass the ball back. Players are even afraid to showcase their individual brilliance.
In summary - A highly inconsistent team managed by an arrogant rookie coach. Patience is the key right now so need to give him enough time to sort out this mess.
It would take a miracle to win the league (no jokes) but we do have chances in other cups, they just need to show up and play like we know they can. |

nihilistjnr: All depends on Vardy and that his dodgy hip. Vardy out, we have a good chance. Vardy in, and he will exploit the channels when we send our full backs up, and it becomes a bit more difficult for us, Hopefully Brother Azpi is up for the fight or is James starting? And then don't forget Maddison and Barnes. The latter can run from now till the season is over. Not sure how Joggingho will handle all that. |
