No2Atheism:Weather forecast? You must be joking. ![]() You can't trust him to even predict the next day after thursday. ![]() |
v3nom4eva:I'm no hater of your club. I don't even care about it. We know the history of your club. Mind you, you will never see me gloat over a victory 'cos at the end of the day its the 3 points that matters. (and em, some small bragging rights ) But good to see that you understood the meaning of "see you in May". Could you be kind enough to explain this to one edoyad? Thanks. |
edoyad:That was a very lame attempt to crack a joke but by the time the "music" hit you, you will only have yourself to blame. |
Amodu or Domenech? I will say it again, AMODU!!!! Meanwhile. . . Nigeria to name foreign coach – report The Nigerian government plans to soon name a new foreign coach for the country's team ahead of next year's World Cup despite the recent endorsement of coach Shuaibu Amodu by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to lead the Super Eagles at South Africa 2010. According to the daily Nigerian sports newspaper, Soccer Star, top officials of the sports ministry have insisted on going ahead to engage a foreign coach in place of Amodu. "We are more concerned about Nigeria having a decent outing in South Africa next year. As such we cannot afford to leave the destiny of the Super Eagles in the hands of Shuaibu Amodu, “a top official was quoted by the newspaper. The newspaper further claimed that the new foreign coach will be appointed in time for the African Cup of Nations in Angola, which kicks off in January 10, so that he could start monitoring the team. Several foreign coaches including Guus Hiddink, Giovanni Trapattoni and Ruud Gullit have already been linked with the top Nigerian job. http://www.kickoff.com/static/news/article.php?id=12495 |

Tiger Woods hits out at 'false rumours' after car crash Tiger Woods has hit out at "unfounded rumours" circulating since his car accident in the early hours of Friday. The golfer was found semi-conscious with facial injuries after his car reportedly hit a fire hydrant and tree. In a statement on his website the golfer said the only person responsible for the crash in Florida "was me". He added: "The many false, unfounded and malicious rumours that are currently circulating about my family and me are irresponsible." The incident occurred in the suburb of Isleworth, an exclusive area near Orlando, at 0225 local time (0725 GMT) on Friday. Florida police officers were told Woods' wife Elin had used a golf club to break the car's rear window and help him out. Police were expected to question Woods about the incident on Sunday but the Associated Press reported that the meeting was cancelled for the third straight day. Sgt Kim Montes of the Florida Highway Patrol said Woods' lawyer did not reschedule the meeting. In a statement posted online about an hour before he was due to be interviewed, Woods said: "My wife, Elin, acted courageously when she saw I was hurt and in trouble. She was the first person to help me. Any other assertion is absolutely false. "This incident has been stressful and very difficult for Elin, our family and me. I appreciate all the concern and well wishes that we have received. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/8385492.stm |

Ndanusa Forged His Documents Controversial sports commentator, Shuaibu Gara Gombe has alleged that the Minister for Sports and Chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC) Engr. Sani Ndanusa, in his desperation to head the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC), has resulted into forging letters from the Confederation of African Tennis (CAT). He even accused him of perjuring the president of the body's signature, Tarak Cherif. But in a swift reaction when contacted, Ndanusa says of the allegation as being most ridiculous, describing it as sad and adding that it is the level some unscrupulous people are ready to go to tarnish other people’s images in order for them to gain selfish advantages. Gombe addressing newsmen during the week had denied insinuations that his actions were part of his attempts to support the incumbent president of the NOC, Engr. Habu Gumel. Descending on Gumel himself, he said he looked to him as another side of the same coin and that both men lacked what it takes to lead the NOC. “On moral grounds Ndanusa should not contest because he is not qualified and did not act in a manner befitting his status, his action is a national embarrassment.” On if his constant pick on Ndanusa did not suggest he was working for Gumel, he replied: “who is Gumel that I should work for him? I even said he is not the best person to lead the NOC but they have sent away all the good people like Cosmas Maduka, Dan Ngerem… people like Molade Okoya-Thomas. These are people who could have headed the NOC but they have hounded them all away. Who is Gumel and what has he done to merit re-election?” he queried. Gombe presented three letters and insisted only one emanated from the CAT headquarters in Tunis, adding that his intention is to see that the country's image does not continue to be battered by desperados. He said he also wants a country in which things are done in a proper manner, especially in the sports sector. He lamented that corruption has crept into the fabrics of sports at all levels. But in a swift reaction, the Minister on Wednesday night presented yet another letter from the headquarters of CAT proving that he did not forge the letter because the signature of Tarak Cherif was super imposed on the nomination letter. The letter, which was sent to the NOC secretariat in Lagos and dated 25th of November read in part: “We are hereby writing to stress that letters sent from the Confederation of African Tennis (CAT) regarding Engr. Sani Ndanusa’s confirmation as CAT Vice-president since April 2003, are genuine and authorised by Mr. Tarak Cherif, the CAT President. “It is a fact that his (Cherif’s) signature is kept in our data system due to his tight schedule and movement around the world. In order to answer pressing issues such as this, we append his signature to any document after duly consulting him and having his authorisation to do so.” The letter from CAT headquarters was signed by the CAT General Manager, Hichem Raini and forwarded to Ndanusa and Cherif himself. http://www.thisdayonline.com/nview.php?id=160824 |
