Can I talk about your energy? Boundless! Awesome! Admirable! It’s like there’s an ever-flowing spring of energy flowing from your soul. You tirelessly go about doing all that you believe in. Nothing discourages you, nothing stops you. Once you set your mind on it, you go for it. It’s so amazing to watch you when you’re this way.

You are empathetic, always watching out for other’s well beings

If the world had more people like you, it would definitely be a better place.

I want you to know I will always be there for you, just as you’ve always been here for me.

I want you to know that you deserve the very best in life, so don’t ever settle for less.

I want you to know that one someday, one day soon, you will achieve all of your dreams and I will be here to celebrate with you.

Over the years, you demonstrated what kindness really means and am so lucky to have benefited from your generosity.

Your versatility outside your field of study is highly commendable, no wonder you have established your self as one of the best in choosen profession.

Despite the fact that, you are a core scientist, your contributions to human endeavors most especially in political aspect cannot go unnoticed.

I once had the privilege to watch you speak to your student about Nigeria, the historical perspective.

What you demonstrated that very day won my heart and that of most students present at the program.

If you can still remember what I said, immediately after your speech
I said to the students " Emulate your master's versatility, the fact that he is a science teacher, he didn't limit himself to just science field but outside his field"

My candid advice to you is to carry on, on the path you have chosen.

I don’t want to count how many years I’ve known you but I just want to pray that this ever-flowing love existing in this friendship would continue to grow. You just match my taste and you understand me perfectly.

Shortly before returning to civilian rule in 1999, a new Constitution came on board.

The then military head of state; Gen. Abdulsalam Abubakar set up a Constitutional drafting committee made up of few selected Nigerians.

The same Constitution is what Nigeria have been using from 1999 till date with few amendments.

Nigeria, an hetergenous entity is best suited to a federal system of government due to her diverse nature in cultures, languages and other factors synonymous to an hetergenous entity.

The same Constitution (1999 constitution) is said to be a federal constitution but in reality it's actually a unitary constitution. Are you shocked .

Before I go further on my analysis, let's quickly see what federal and unitary constitution means .

A federal constitution, is a type of constitution in which there are clear constitutional divisions of powers between the central government ( Federal government) and other components units making up the federation.

Note: One important principle of federalism states that; all components units making up the federation should be equal.

A Unitary constitution, this is a type of constitution that places all powers at the centre ( Federal). In this type of constitution, there is no constitutional divisions of powers between the central government (Federal government) and components units.

Now to business, Do you know that ;

1. The 1999 Constitution of Nigeria was promulgated by decree 24 of 1999 and the constitution was not signed into law by the President or National assembly (approved)

2. The constitution does not provide for state constitutions to create true federalism.

3. Takes care of one religion in section 275-279 and neglects all others.

4. The 1999 constitution over centralized governance and even centralized the judiciary.

5. The 1999 constitution gave the National assembly power over concurrent items.

6. Created a Unitary system of government, Not federal system.

7. Calls state governors "Chief security officer" but does not give them security outfit or power over Nigeria police in their respective states.

8. Provided for only one police force unlike other federation like the U.S e.t.c.

9. Falsely claimed that Nigerians willing handed their lands and resources to FG.

10. The constitution was written by a few selected Nigerians and not subjected to referendum .

The most shocking one ; Do you know that the constitution was kept secret till after all inaugurations in 1999?

With all these analysis of mine, it's obvious that the 1999 constitution isn't best suited to a country like Nigeria.

For things to go well, Nigeria needs to be restructured and a new Constitution must be adopted to put an end to some of the lapses of the 1999 constitution.

In true federalism, "powers should be decentralized".

One of the major political thinkers, philosopher and writer known to us is Niccolo Machiavelli. He is popular for the key phrase " The end justify the means". He is also regarded as father of politics.

The question whether the end justifies the means depends on the kind of goal or end a person would like to accomplish and the means they use. If both the means and the end are similarly noble and good, there is no question because the ends are justified by the means. This is actually the stand I have chosen to take.

Although, there are different views about this Machiavelli expression, I agree with the belief that both the end and the means should be good.

For many individuals, it does not matter what means are being used as long as they get what they need to justify their ends by some form of means. It sometimes entails doing a wrong thing when attempting to achieve a good end. They justify the incorrect act by pointing to the outcome that was good.

Most people put greater focus on what they want to achieve but pay little attention to what means to be used to justify their ends when doing a wrong thing and trying to reach positive result.

The end justify the means...
"It is better to be feared than loved, if you can't achieve both" - Niccolo Machiavelli.

In political context of this essay, politicians may choose to employ every means available in order to achieve their aim. Such means may include violence, political betrayal, lobbying, to mention but a few.

Recently, a politician dumped his party from which he was elected as a first term governor because the party refused him a second term ticket. He decamped to the opposition party in the state and was granted waiver to contest the party's primary which he later won.

The funny part is, he will be competing against his former party (which he won his first term as a governor). Now, if he manages to win the gubernatorial election, then his aim is accomplished. The end indeed, justifies the means.

So, if a leader does what it takes to win power and keep it, his method will always be reckoned with and widely praised.

I think it is difficult to judge this statement (the end justify the means), it depends on situation from our point of view and our behavior, if this statement will have a good or bad meaning. We must in our minds consider how to resolve problems without hurting other people.

In conclusion, we are all but human who err most of the time. The values that we have as humans are what make us humans. Any means we use which violates our perception of morals and righteousness can never justify the end or the goals no matter how worthy they may seem to be.
