Treadway: see now, you have also dropped an ignorant claim. Internet is more expensive in the US, UK, Canada and Australia, and I'm talking from direct experience of two of those countries and from friends in the other two countries. Not people using WiFi at work o, I'm talking about prepaid internt plans. They are far far more expensive. Shey you go argue that one too. People can't pay for starlink here sef |

Treadway: see what I mean, does inverter translate to solar and must the setup be mega! Jeezuz! I don tire o...lol. ok guy, you can set up an inverter that will last you 3-4days to watch TV, power fan for you to sleep pretty at night, and lighting (with energy saving bulbs) to go about your activities all for under 200k even as things cost now. How much more before now and the many ppl that have set it up. I haven't even incorporated solar to mine cos the current setup is still okay for me. Why are you jumping straight to the millions millions setup Hehehe. O GA oo
Elijah if you want to buy a car now, will you only consider a 2022 range rover OR a car that you can afford that can get you from point a to b without issues. Cmon man! I make what you make a year in a few weeks… my 2 best friends from college in naija are in high ranking jobs at chevron and BASF US. See, I can use 3 of us as “living proof” that a life in America is far superior to the life you live in the hellhole called Nigeria.
Your reluctance to answer my questions speak volumes. You won the birth lottery and think you can lecture everyone… good luck when you get any health issue beyond malaria. If you had the brain you delude yourself into thinking you have, go back and ask why you pay income tax and yet have to provide your own basic utilities. You own an inverter/generator, you build your borehole, fire service is basically nonexistent, no healthcare… and the dunce thinks an inverter is all there is to life? take a seat young man. If you can't make it in Nigeria doesn't mean another person can't... |

descarado: Indians before colonisation was a very rich country. Uk met them extremely rich and plundered them to oblivion. They just bounced back and is taking over their initial spots in world politics. Pakistan and India were one before.
We wil talk about different nations in Nigeria before colonisation after the election and where they were with civilisation. Nigerians going to uk or abroad still have the average Nigerian mentality we display at hone which is show off.
Kenyans are taking over the sport after India in uk. Indians are united, will circulate info that will benefit them but see a Nigerian showing what to do to excell, its very impossible. You rather hear from Indians or other African countries. Indians start grooming their children as soon as they are born. We are busy with owambe, feminism and back biting. How can you groom your kids when more than half of the Nigerian population are divorced because they want to be fake oyibos? Custody battle and busy trying to get the kids to hate the other parent. Treadway: the bolded are wildly inaccurate and exaggerated. Most working class folks use inverters now just as most homes now use boreholes for water. I have been using an inverter right from 2014 even as a bachelor with 120k salary. Till now I have 24hr electricity as do most of my contacts/friends etc. Having an inverter setup is pretty commonplace these days.
It is actually very easy to build in Nigeria thanks to lack of regulations. Not everyone will live in Lagos, as Nigeria does not start and end there. I got mine sorted before I got married at age 30. Buy land today and with enough funds on standby even with the horrendous exchange rate you will build a 3-bed tastefully with 15m total (land cost inclusive). Buying is even easy now, 6-7m and you'll still get a 3-bed in an okay area. It always easier and cheaper to buy houses as people only sell houses out of desperation. Ppl selling lands are not usually desperate to sell. Smart people are buying property for really cheap rates at the moment. Screw Bitcoin, buy houses!
PS: I never even got to 500k monthly salary till 2020 when I resigned to face business squarely. Sales reps in good companies/multinationals like Merck, BAT wey I know dey build block of 4-6flats, most of them still under 40. Artisans, meat sellers sef get their own house. Fancy or not, it is theirs. So scratch the only the wealthy can own house thought. Okada rider dey my side wey don build two house... As person see am naso e go be for the person... Na the way I dey reason am be that ... |

TWoods: Shootings and gun violence happens in the US, but it does not affect the vast majority of the populace. I’ve lived in 4 states over 17 years and never had a problem with violence. In Nigeria, even your governors and pastors are not immune from violence, armed robbers and kidnappers.
Yes some Nigerians have access to 24 hours electricity, but they must be wealthy enough to be able to afford inverters and solar infrastructure. That amounts to <0.0001% of the population. By contrast 99% of the US population takes 24 hr electricity for granted with no need to invest in anything else.
The idea that “most Nigerians can easily build their houses” is false. <0.001% can truly afford it. Most of those who can afford it do so by stealing public funds. How many Nigerians can truly build homes on their legitimately earned income? The average American can own a home on an average pay check. Just because you don japa no mean say people wey dey make no dey make am... This life make one just hustle hard... Okada man dey build house well for Nigeria ooo... |

Bksense: How is Nigeria nearing it's ruin to be honest? Gun violence and kidnapping happen in USA everyday. But you won't talk about that due to White worshipping..but you people wish bad things happen to Nigeria and her people everyday so you'll be able to justify your Japa and tell them "we warned you". Why can't you people Just accept the fact that not everyone want to come And live a lonely and boring life abroad Just because of 24hrs light which you pay for with your nose anyways , and McDonald Job of $1500 per month. The money you earn over there doesn't even find you that boost until you convert it to naira in your head just to validate yourself and say ",I'm earning more than a professor in Nigeria". This is a trend I see Among you people.
And you can call me broke because I live in Nigeria. Since you can't even know whether I'm more satisfied and contented with my life or not
Thanks You dey vex ooo |

Idaytesj29: The ministries and government parastatals that are very engaging, what do govt offer them in return? Alaye leave matter for Mathias. With the way Nigeria is running it's workers renumeration, do you think workers will be dedicated? Look at ASUU after so much time at home and an agreement reached, Govt still went ahead to pay half salaries, is that a serious govt? You forgot an ebonyi lecturer that was assassinated while doing Uber because of poor pay and strikes, how can you be a govt worker and still be looking for side hustle? Like not out of interest in the hustle but to survive and feed?
Pls be considerate when criticize govt workers.
Have you said anything about the working environment of these people? They use their money to buy chairs and tables to sit on, offices has no AC, no stationeries, no imprest to run office, official vehicles are dead and not replaced,. No staff buses.
Some are work without going on leave for years, they transfer them in-between states with no DTA, they send on course and they have to pay their own money to register and never get any course allowance, I can go on and on. Lecturers use their salaries to fund research, no research fund or grants, even when they are qualified. Majority of them are frustrated by the system. Don't be too fast to be critical, investigate as well. Which government workers most of them no wan work ... Only to collect money... I know someone then collecting free money when the place block the mumu can just figure his life |

ValCon888: The truth is that Twitter as a company is severely bloated. Too many employees doing too little.
Now that a businessman has bought Twitter, he wants to run it like a business. Cut costs and increase profits.
Employees are a liability when they're not generating revenue to justify their expense.
And this is the same problem with Nigeria. So many ministers, senators, house of reps, special advisers draining the country's resources.
Too many allowances that don't even make any sense.
Go to the ministries and government agencies to see the high level of inactivity going on.
They're simply pushing pencil, chewing gum, playing solitaire on computer.
We need the the CEO of a Fortune 500 Company to run this country. In less than five years Nigeria will have no debt.
It doesn't take rocket science to fix Nigeria. The people that don't want the country to be fixed prefer Nigeria as it is because they're profiting from the waste and corruption. Naso e easy na... See mouth |
