Politics / Re: UNBELIEVABLE! Tinubu Loyalists Cries Out Set To Dump APC For… by feedburner(m): 1:27pm On Jul 12, 2015
gare:
Lagos APC cries out... Following the perceived indignity meted out to the founding national leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Ashiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu by power brokers in the party from the core north, himself, his loyalists are set to dump the ruling party.

Already, his loyalist and the Interim National Chairman of the APC, Chief Bisi Akande have inaugurated a pressure group within the party call the Action Group to defend and protect the interest of members of the party from the South West zone.

The Action Group, AG was the political party led by late sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo in the pre and post independence era.

AG was an offshoot of Egbe Omo Oduduwa, a cultural group formed by Awolowo during the struggle for Nigeria’s independence.

Nigerian Pilot Sunday gathered from APC South West members that they felt betrayed by the humiliation of Bola Tinubu by members of the party from the core North despite the critical role he played in the emergence of Muhammadu Buhari as the presidential candidate of the APC and the eventual victory of the party in the presidential election.

The Tinubu loyalists were said to have critically appraised the recent development in the APC and came to the conclusion that the core North intentionally used Tinubu as ladder to get the presidency which they have been craving for since the death of late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua in 2010.

It was gathered that as the APC power brokers from the North gradually unfold their hidden agenda against Tinubu, members of the party from the South West loyal to him, held several meetings where they resolved to float an alternative platform in anticipation of their imminent defection from the party.

The new pro-Tinubu group, APC-Action Group, made its public media debut on July 5 when they issued a press statement signed by its Spokesman, Segun Dipe, where they defended the position of Bisi Akande over the crisis in the National Assembly.

Chief Akande had been criticized for his recent utterances with which he cautioned some party members, whom he accused of trading the party’s birthright and dining with the enemy with a bid to get choice positions.
Specifically, he mentioned some northern elites and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP members within the APC as those rocking the party’s boat with indiscipline and disloyalty.

APC-AG recalled how Chief Akande had journeyed with Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu through thick and thin from the dark and lonely days of the Alliance for Democracy, AD, to the Action Congress, AC, and then Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, before arriving at the APC, only for them to be thrown into the dustbin after they helped the party to upstage PDP.

Nigerian Pilot Sunday also gathered that members of APC Action Group are not particularly happy with President Muhammadu Buhari, whom they alleged set the stage for the humiliation of Tinubu during his inauguration when he said he belonged to everybody and belonged to nobody.

They said those against Tinubu and the South West within the APC took the phrase as signal and presidential endorsement to opponents of Tinubu to unleash their northern agenda in the ruling party.

Members of the APC-Action Group are also said to be suspicious of the role played by the President in the election of Senate President and Speaker of the House of Representatives, when he stood aloof and watched the agreed candidates of the party, Sen. Ahmed Lawan and Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, upstaged by Senator Bukola Saraki and Yakubu Dogara with the active support of APC leaders from the North led by former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar.

Our source disclosed that Tinubu’s loyalists in the APC- Action Group are bidding their time to see if President Buhari “will correct the injustice meted out to Tinubu” when the election of the chairman of the Board of Trustees, BoT, is held on July 20.

If Tinubu is compensated with the BoT chairman and at least four ministerial slot they, APC Action Group, will keep their plan to defect in abeyance and watch events unfold in the party, especially as some members of the party are already positioning themselves for 2019 primaries, he further said.

Visocrate:
MINISTERIAL LIST: Buhari Dumps Amaechi, Oronsaye As EFCC, DSS Screen Nominees
By Admin • On July 12, 2015 • In Local News Local News 0
As President Muhammadu Buhari gets set to form his cabinet, indications are rife that immediate past governor of Rivers State and Director General of Buhari/Osinbajo campaign organisation, Rotimi Ameachi may not make the list of appointees.
Also a favourite of Buhari’s new cabinet and former head of service, Steve Oronsaye is to be docked tomorrow at a federal high court.
EFCC sources said that the former Rivers governor is currently under investigation over allegation of corruption and money laundering, following several petitions allegedly against him, Nigerian Pilot reports.
A highly placed official of the commission said that the former governor might have lost out
following President Buhari’s stand that those
currently under probe and facing corruption charges will not make his cabinet.
The President is under pressure from some eminent Nigerians, including a former President, to appoint ministers without further delay.
According to the source, measures preparatory to receive Buhari’s nominees are already in place by the commission and Department of State Security Service, DSS, which are to screen all the nominees of the president before he will make a form all presentation to the Senate.
The top official noted that Amaechi may not make the list because the commission started investigating him over allegation of fraud amounting to N30 billion in 2007 when he was the then speaker of the Rivers state House of Assembly.
Apart from the alleged N30 billion fraud there are new pending petitions written against him as the governor of Rivers State which the commission is still investigating.
The President had promised to constitute his cabinet by September, but eminent Nigerians, it was learnt, advised that any further delay would be counter-productive.
It was gathered that anybody arrested, detained, quizzed, or arraigned by the EFCC may not make Buhari’s cabinet in line with his commitment to probity and transparency.
It also gathered that the increasing numbers of
arrest s and arraignments of some politically
exposed persons by the EFCC and the delay in raising the Federal Executive Council may be a setback for such politicians and technocrats eyeing ministerial slots.
Besides Amaechi, one of those who might be affected is the former Head of Service of the Federation, Mr. Steve Oronsaye, who is said to be in contention for a prominent job in the Buhari’s cabinet, but will be docked tomorrow (Monday) before a federal high court in Abuja over alleged N1.9 billion fraud.
Oronsaye, who was arrested on Wednesday by the EFCC and might be prosecuted next week, is
competing for the SGF slot with ex-governors Rotimi Amaechi, and Ogbonnaya Onu.
It was learnt that Oronsaye is a favoured candidate of former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
Further checks revealed that in addition to Amaechi, there are also petitions against ex-
Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso before the EFCC.
The action is said to be a plot by some politicians to abort plans to make him a minister.
Some forces and groups were said to have made a case for Kwankwaso as the next Minister of the Federal Capital Territory.
Similarly, others who may have difficulty in serving in Buhari’s government in any capacity are ex-governors Timipre Sylva, Murtala Nyako, Prince Abubakar Audu and Danjuma Goje.

I am ok once he (amaechi) makes it in name of kirikiri candidates

Politics / Re: Apc Wins Round One At Rivers Governorship Election Tribunal by feedburner(m): 7:07pm On Jul 11, 2015
senier007:
Dr Dakuku Peterside, the Rivers APC Governorship candidate at the April 11, 2015 Governorship election and his party yesterday floored Rivers State Governor, Ezebuwon Nyesom Wike at the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Abuja.

The tribunal ordered that All Progressives Party (APC) be allowed to inspect the electoral materials and forensic analysis be conducted on any materials found to have been tampered with.

The judge also overruled the application on jurisdiction brought by Rivers State Governor, Ezebuwon Nyesom Wike.

Chief Akin Olunjinmi, leading counsel to Dr. Peterside described the prayer and motion on jurisdiction as a deliberate attempt and “game-plan” to delay the tribunal’s sitting.

With the ruling on jurisdiction and other motions done with, the hearing of the substantive issues and the epic battle challenging the result of the April 11, 2015 Governorship election in Rivers will begin July 23rd.

The Rivers governorship election has been described as the worst election ever conducted in Nigeria as police and other security agencies looked the other way as political PDP thugs, hoodlums openly bombed, maimed and killed many APC supporters during the electioneering campaigns.

While during the election proper the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) believed to have concocted outrageous figures, even in many places where elections were either disrupted or not conducted to return the PDP candidate, Nyesom as winner of the gubernatorial election.

Both foreign and local election observers said the election was “charade in which hoodlums, thugs, security agents connived to unleashed terror on voters.”
