Though some Igbo might be nusance, rude or naturally breed with greedy and selfish norms. I still believe they should be given the freedom they clamour for they have suffered enough in the hands of the northerners and also have faced so much discrimination from the south westerners but they have the right to live on their own if that is what they wish for.
Why say they will suffer if Nigeria is divided? have you allowed them be to find out if they will suffer or not? Even so the Igbo's prefer to suffer than remain under this umbrella called Nigeria.
like I said I am not an Igbo boy but I think every right minded person would know it's unfair to be denied of your freedom... kingsolex @2015

Politics / Re: Speaker Dogara Flies To Delta In Private Jet To Commission Church Altar by feedburner(m): 6:56am On Jul 07, 2015
wise7:
Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, traveled to Delta State in a private jet earlier today in order to commission an altar in a church in Ubulu-Uku, a town in Aniocha local government area.

The altar, which was financed by Amaechi Mrakpor, a pastor of "King Jesus and I" who was newly elected member of the House of Representatives representing Aniocha/Oshimili Federal constituency, will be commissioned tomorrow at 10 a.m.

On arriving in Asaba, Mr. Dogara paid a courtesy call on Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State and later met with traditional rulers in the state.
When a correspondent of SaharaReporters reached the speaker, he confirmed that he was in Delta State, explaining that he was in Asaba on his way to Ubulu-Uku to commission a project. Asked why he did not travel on one of the planes in the presidential fleet, the speaker disclosed that he was told that jets in the presidential fleet were not allowed to fly into the airport in Asaba, the Delta State capital, owing to the airport’s unsatisfactory condition. He added that a smaller 8-seater plane was later allocated to him, but that he refused to use the plane because of the size of his entourage.

Business / Re: Naira Drops As Demand Pressure Heightens by feedburner(m): 6:53am On Jul 07, 2015
zumen:
The Nigerian foreign exchange market continued to increase yesterday at the bureau de change (BDC) and black market as the value of the naira dropped to a low of N232 and N236.50 against the dollar respectively.

Daily Sun gathered that the value of the naira at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and the interbank end of the foreign exchange market, however, remained stable as the green back sold for N196.95 and N198.58 respectively. At the BDC, the value of the naira against the pound dropped to N350. Pressure had mounted on the naira at the parallel and black market after the CBN, a fortnight ago, curbed access to the dollar on the official interbank market for importation of a wide range of goods, shifting demand for hard currency to the black market.

The foreign external reserves, which had been trending downwards since last year, rose slightly to $29.157 billion, as at July 2 according to latest figures made available by the CBN. This is the highest figure since June 9, 2015 when it stood at $29.181 billion. Meanwhile, the rate at which banks lend among themselves dropped as at the close of business yesterday.

Overnight rate dropped to five year low of 5.1250 per cent while one and three months rates dropped to 14.1547 and 15.5823 per cents respectively. Six-month rate, however, rose slightly to 16.3288 per cnet. -

Family / Re: The Alternative Called "Adoption". by feedburner(m): 10:44am On Jul 06, 2015
deardamsel2:
I'm just wondering why African women and men keep trying to modernize themselves in a lot of ways but still hold on to some old and sometimes ridiculous belief(s).

Take for instance the issue of adoption of children, a couple that's been married for a while and are yet to have their own children will rather stay childless for as long as it takes them to have their own biological children than adopt children and bring joy into two lives, theirs and that of the baby or babies they adopt!

I mean if you really know what it means to be married for a while and not have children in Africa especially for a woman! Is it the unending questions you have to answer,or the manner people will keep looking at your tommy when you go for outing? God bless you if you if your husband thinks you're the cause of the childlessness or you have unsymphatetic and terrible in-laws or you now fight with anyone (gosh, the things a childless woman goes through).

Why can't couples opt for adoption after maybe 3 years of marriage if they're yet to have their own children?

Adopting children doesn't make you less normal than those that have biological children and adopting children doesn't mean you've given up on having biological children, it just means that while you're trying to conceive, you have the joy of being a parent!

And it's not something to be ashamed of! The reason "baby factories" are thriving is because people think it's a shame to adopt children, that they have failed in their God given assignment, and so they wants to lie and pretend like they've given birth naturally.

If a white couple is not ashamed to adopt a black baby and call him/her their own, why should a black couple be ashamed of adopting a baby?

Fatherhood is much more than ability to impregnate a woman as a man and Motherhood is much more than ability to carry pregnancy as a woman, it's the ability to care, nurture and train a children in the right way.

Please, I'm not saying that this is an easy decision for anyone to take, I know it's really a hard decision but I'm saying it's a better alternative; while waiting for your miracle to happen, there's the joy of a little one calling you 'My Dad and Mum'.

black people r daft, I am daft and I don't feel sorry for myself. it's in my nature

When I read diseased people like you, I curse what ever turn a brother to a vampire. I wrote your leader Kalu a personal letter, next he was raining abuses on me, and ask why his (not our/the igbo) "chukwu abiama" created Igbos like me. Kalu's rampant display of juvenile lunacy has infected all his follower that today, we have a set of spiritually ill, bitter and irrational Igbos parading as Biafran advocates. You can Imagine kalu and his cohort abusing even his fellow igbo, whose interest (according to what he told him), he is protecting.

First, I don't know who selected Kalu to speak for us. We have more intelligent, loyal, decent, disciplined, financially independent, exposed, globally connected and urban Igbos. A man who wants to play another Ojukwu today should go and look at the personality of Ojukwu, he cannot be disgrasing us in the name of fighting for himself.

Now to put it straight, we are not looking for a small country called Biafra, we want a great Igbo nation driven by the Biafran spirit. Now you ask, what is the Biafran spirit. It is that unifying spirit in which everyone contribute his quoter to the achievement of nationhood and development. Like I asked Kalu, in your little community, how have you impacted or changed the system. If you cannot build ur little community, you cannot build Biafra. And finally, about calling Nigeria zoo. It will be better for you that you are not here, otherwise you will be the greatest fool to eat ur vomit. If u use Nigerian road, nigerian money, Nigerian utilities, take it from me, u have cursed ur self to continue dwelling with animals. If you are abroad like Kalu, I will tell you what I told him: you are only a mad monkey that ran away from the bush and was adopted as a pet, now you think your self human, each time u call Nigeria zoo and zoo animals, just remember ur mother and father are elderly monkeys in this zoo. For us, we are proud "animals" in the "zoo", we will keep striving to fix this zoo until it become a lovely tourist choice. Ndewo.

Politics / Re: ACF : Attacks During Ramadan Proves Boko Haram Are Not Muslims by feedburner(m): 10:19am On Jul 06, 2015
ArabaONE:
The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has
condemned the recent attacks by Boko Haram on
Monguno, Kukawa and Maiduguri in Borno State,
which left many people dead.
A statement on Sunday in Kaduna by Muhammad
Ibrahim, the National Publicity Secretary of the
group, described the attacks and killings by the
insurgent group as worrisome.
According to ACF, it was deeply worried same way
Nigerians were worried and disturbed with the recent
and frequent attacks on villages and even states
capital of Borno and Yobe by the Boko Haram
insurgents.
“The renewed direct attack on the people in the
Monguno, Kukawa, Maiduguri and many villages in
Borno, Yobe and Adamawa states is cruel, barbaric
and condemnable especially in the holy month of
Ramadan,” ACF noted.
“This clearly shows that the Boko Haram insurgents
are cults in form, character and operation as their
claim to be Muslims is untenable.
“Islam enjoined Muslims not to fight during the
month of Ramadan no matter the provocation, let
alone, attacking and killing innocent people for no
just cause,’’ it said
The ACF said that the activities of the insurgents
posed a serious challenge to the military and other
security agencies.
It commended the decision of the Federal
Government to move the military operational
command from Abuja to Maiduguri and the
establishment of the Multinational Military Joint
Task-force.
The group also lauded President Muhammadu
Buhari’s visits to Niger and Chad and for soliciting
the support of other foreign leaders at the G7 and
African Union summits in the fight against Boko
Haram.
ACF further urged the security agencies to employ
new strategy and intelligence gathering to smoke
out the terrorists from their enclaves and hideouts.
“With the adequate supply of equipment and other
logistic support to the military, Nigerians expect to
see offensive attack on the terrorists,’’ it said.
ACF also urged communities in the affected areas to
cooperate with the security agencies in the area of
intelligence gathering.
