Politics / INVESTIGATION: How Children From Rich Nigerian Families Help Finance Boko Haram by feedburner(m): 12:58pm On Jul 04, 2015
On Saturday, 4 October, 2013, Bauchi, capital of Bauchi State, was experiencing an unusually cold weather. At the Old GRA, a suburb of the city, Ismaila Gambo, a 21-year-old with a neatly trimmed beard got up at dawn and headed to a nearby mosque for his morning prayers. He wore a grey sweatshirt atop a pair of jeans and boots.Ismaila’s dressing suggested that hewas off to some high-energy work. But he was actually headed for Maiduguri, capital of Borno State where he believed he was to carry out a self-appointed divine assignment.Upstairs, in a bedroom in the Gambos’ home, a duplex, his 17–year-old sister, Khadija, said her own prayers. She was dressed in a long gown and wore a headscarf as she waited for her brother to return.Khadija wore a niqabi, a veil worn by a Muslim woman so that only the eyes are visible. Soon, if all went according to plan, Khadija would be married to a jihadi, a fighter for the cause of Islam. What would her husband be like? She hoped he would be handsome and bearded likeIsmaila, her brother. When the men returned from the mosque just before 6 a.m., Khadija waited until she heard her father go back to bed. Then, before her parentswoke up, she stuffed some pillows under the covers to make it seem likeshe was the one in bed and mentally reviewed her checklist: – clothes for five days, boots, warm socks, a toothbrush, a hairbrush, her niqabi, hijab, and Qur’an.She grabbed her suitcase, walked downstairs, slipped through the door with her brother and they sped off in one of their father’s many cars. For the Gambo children, they were embarking on a journey to fulfill destiny. Both had been radicalised bythe extremist ideology of Boko Haram and were making a trip to be part of the movement they believed in. But fate had other plans for them. The two Gambo siblings – this website agreed to change their names for security reasons – had been plotting their journey for over a year. They had been in touch via the telephone and internet with others who had become convinced that the Boko Haram ideology represents the way to salvation.Ismaila is an Engineering graduate ofthe Abubakar Tafawa Belewa University, Bauchi. His sister, was a second year French undergraduate ofthe University of Jos, before they embarked on their journey. But Ismaila and his sister did not fulfill the mission to join the insurgents. They were caught because he mixed up the phone number of his contact — a lecturer at the University of Maiduguri– which was given to him by a Boko Haram member. The contact was to have provided them with accommodation in GRA, Maiduguri.“I made a mistake with the numbers they (Boko Haram) had given me in Bauchi, and by twist of fate it was another University of Maiduguri lecturer’s number.”“The lecturer played along, and while we were waiting, the house was raided,” Ismaila recalled, without regret. He and his sister are among many that wanted to join Boko Haram or successfully joined, but were caught and are now cooling their heels at a detention camp in Maiduguri, capital of Borno State and the heart of the insurgency. The icirnigeria.org was given a brief, exclusive access to the detention facility in Maiduguri, one of the many such places where the children of mostly rich and powerful people who have supported, sponsored or were working for Boko Haram are being kept. The story of these “rich kids” provides a glimpse into how some of the terrorist activities of the Boko Haram group have been financed. Apparently, part of the insurgency group’s past success can be attributed to the contributions these children made to their “cause”.Ismaila told the icirnigeria.org that there were many of them who were successfully recruited from very influential homes to work for Boko Haram. Many of them consider claims that the insurgency was poverty-driven laughable.Adegboyega Sam, an army major andone of the officers at the camp, said when Ismaila and his sister were arrested, they had almost an equivalent of N3 million in various currencies, several banks’ ATM cards, four smartphones and three laptops.“There are many of them here, children of influential Nigerians, some we have been keeping for morethan three to four years. We only await instructions from above; ours is to follow orders,” he said.ConfusionIn spite of several hours of interrogation, investigators who havehandled the case of these young Nigerians are still a bit confused about how they got conscripted to work for Boko Haram. There are still too many questions unanswered. Why did they leave everything dear tothem – family, privileged upbringing and life – without looking back to become terrorists? The services that Ismaila intended tooffer Boko Haram are unclear, even tohim. According to a rough transcript of his confessional statement, he told security operatives that he wanted to play a “public-service role”— delivering food, or, perhaps, providing intelligence for the sect; maybe “a combat role”, he said.Ismaila said he had never held a gun,let alone fire one. As he claimed, his desire was to help Muslims. He wanted to die fighting a holy war. When asked if he was willing to be used on a suicide mission, Ismaila said: “Yes, if it pleases the Almighty Allah.”“I did not just run with my sister. An Islamic State had been established, and it is thus obligatory for every able-bodied male and female to fight to keep it. I wanted the comfort of a new khalifah (caliphate),” he said.Investigations show that there are many like Ismaila who have come to believe in the Boko Haram ideology and have provided support in terms of intelligence, logistic support, food, transportation and so on. Others have directly provided funds to oil the wheel of the deadly insurgency campaign waged by Boko Haram against the Nigerian state and its people.Musa AwalAnother inmate of the detention facility,Musa Awal, 18, was restless as he spoke to our reporter.“This nation is openly against Islam and Muslims, especially since Jonathan became President and the evil of this country makes me sick,” he said angrily.Musa is the third son of a wealthy family from Borno State. His family came into wealth during the regime of the late General Sani Abacha. He told our reporter boldly that not only is education harmful, but “living in this land is haram [sinful]”.But when reminded that he had attended some of the best schools in Nigeria, he kept mute, looking bemused. When Musa was caught, he begged that his parents should not be called. He told interrogators that if he confessed, his parents would be killed.According to a security source, this suggests that he must have worked with a group of people – the possibility of a cell could not be overruled.Another source at the Directorate of Behavioural Analysis which is part of the office of the National Security Office, NSA, revealed that they had been tracking finance and supplies to Boko Haram for long and it was no surprise that many influential families had set up some sort of fund which they released in the shape of “protection monies” to Boko Haram.“Some of them watch helplessly as their kids become radicalized and whenwe nab them, some even prefer that their wards are left in detention out of fear,” said the source. The source disclosed that... continue at

I understand the complexity of the situation in the sense that Radio Biafra is broadcasting from London and Nigeria do not have any jurisdiction in that regards.

But there are other means to stop them, at least on the normal FM span.

it's a fact that the most of the listeners listen on FM. Many can't access the satelite radio and most cannot afford listening on internet radio.

Radio Biafra can be stopped by using simple unmodulated carriers.

They will keep changing frequencies and we will keep jamming their frequencies till their listeners are left confused and frustrated.

This will not cost much and i will be willing to offer more information if needed but not on this forum.

That radio station must be stopped. They are recruiting terrorists in my Region.

Ibos are wasting their time and inviting destruction to the progress they have made. No advanced country of serious country will support that a part of the country break away like is currently happening through a war, they will neither fight on your behalf nor pay for it nor pickup the Ibo refugees! Nigeria's immediate neighbours are the most impacted and neither Cameroun nor Benin Republic have a problem with Nigeria, they will not use their resources to take care of a people who have it better in life in every way currently! The world struggled to cope with the killings in Biafra in 67 - 70, imagine what it would be now when all Nigeria needs to do is to destroy anywhere with high populations and they could be beating the 3 M dead in 67 - 70 in 6 months or less! Imagine a napalm bomb attack on Onitsha market or markets in Abia? Imagine an attack on the millions of Ibos who live outside of iboland, who will protect them? The army and Nigerian Forces will be way too busy to have the time to care about an unfortunate Ibo in any part of Nigeria who has been attacked.

Is this what Ibos want? Do you have enough weapons and money to buy the weapons? Unlike 67, all borders are controlled by Nigeria, how will you bring in weapons? How will you ship in armoured tanks, fighter jets and heavy ordinance? How about food, one of th major reasons Biafra lost an entire generation of children and women? Note, Nigeria will neither feed you for free, pay nor let you be fed by vegetables, grain or meat that originates from the tightest corner of the country. You will not be able to import it too as not even a fly with destination Biafra will be allowed in Nigerian airspace!

What is your offensive plan or do you plan to play defense from the beginning to the end? Biafra's offensive capabilities will be severely limited if any! Attacking any immediate Nigerian state will turn even neutral citizens of those localities around you to ferocious enemies who will rat you out, provide unmatched forward deployed attack bases for NA from every side and you can imagine several parallel pincer movements that will tear the already small iboland to pieces within a short period of time, the borders closed, nothing gets out and only death comes into Biafra daily!

Unlike 1970, Biafra will not be allowed to surrender! Imagine that disaster, the very same reason WW2 was so destructive and killed so many people! Nigeria will capture and kill all Biafra secessionists, their supporters and commanders. This is a cause - effect situation and I hope you people think hard and well now and not let emotions get in the way clouding sound judgement.

Ibos will never be allowed in the SW at least regardless of the outcome of the war ever again! Nigeria will not allow Ibos have any minor stake in the affairs of Nigeria ever again, Ibos shall be a conquered people in practice and reality. This is regardless of the outcome of the war as you will be vanquished to the hilt! I have heard some Ibos talk about dual citizenship / residency with Nigeria; it is stoopid talk that will never happen! A war is easier to start, but cannot be stopped until millions are dead, billions of naira properties are destroyed, yet the losers (Ibos) shall be a conquered people only short of being put in physical chains. Nnamdi Kalu lives and enjoys the life of London while goading you to your own destruction! His children do not live in Biafra! Ojukwu a man that supposedly had at least 1 full day of military training failed terribly, what will Kanu that lives hundreds of KM away do better? Ibos have got self a destruction death wish and except they beat a retreat back to their senses, they are about to be whooped back to before the Stone Age or before they ever existed!!

Romance / Re: How To Get A Lady Visit You Without Any Excuse by feedburner(m): 12:03pm On Jul 04, 2015
joeprince23:
Getting a girl to visit you is super easy. The problem is that
most guys don’t find it so.
You ask a girl to come over and visit you and she turns you
down, giving some flimsy excuses. Sometimes she agrees to
come over and then turns around to disappoint you.
I’ve been there before, till i learnt how to “trick” my way out
of it.
Here is why girls are avoiding your house…
It’s because you are scaring them away.
Don’t worry. Let me explain further.
Firstly, a girl will never visit you if she finds you boring (read
my article on “how to talk to girls” to put a stop to being
boring).
Secondly, a girl will avoid your house if she notices you are
desperate for her visit. Never ever beg a girl to visit you.
Never give her the impression that she is doing you a favour
by visiting you.
You dey get the gist abi?
As in, Never ever ever make a girl feel you are badly in need
for her visit. It scares them like crazy. It gives her this
impression that: “he wants sex, that is why he has been
begging me to visit”.
The best approach is to make it seem you are inviting her
over for something. As in, you have to give her this idea that
she is coming over for a reason.
Let me give you an example. Here is one trick that is damn
effective
You could call a girl up today, after making her interested in
you using all the tips in my eBook, then go like:
“Hey, I want to cook ogbono soup. I need directions abeg.
Shebi you can cook it”
Of course she go know. Ask her to give you directions, then
make a show of acting as if you are writing the directions
down.
She will find this funny and you both will have a good laugh
as she gives you the direction over the phone.
After she is done with the directions, thank her and hang up
Then give her like 30 minutes and call her again. Then say
something like:
YOU: “Haba na. You give me fake directions na”.
HER: “Lol. How”
YOU: “I just finished cooking the soup, it doesn’t draw. you
give me direction for non-drawing ogbono soup? Plus the
soup looks funny. It’s red here and brown there”.
If you do this well, it will make her laugh. Go ahead and
PLAYFULLY tease her: “Haba, we are beefing o. you for tell
you can’t cook ogbono na”. Bla bla bla bla. (If you’ve read
my Ebook then you already know how to tease a girl)
When you two are done laughing over the whole thing. Tell
her you will call her back and end the call.
Two days later, contact her, tell her you feel like eating
ogbono soup the next day. And you wouldn’t want to take a
risk again, and that you really need to learn how to cook the
soup.
Then invite her over to TEACH YOU. Not to cook it for you
(you never can tell if she is a feminist who doesn’t like
cooking for guys. Lol). Use the word teach, it’s safer
If you’ve been using the strategies in my eBook on her, she
will come.
Hope you got the whole strategy?
Here is the point, directly asking a girl to come and visit you
raises the red flag in her head and makes her wonder what
you are up to.
When you give her a reason, it makes her relaxed. Also, girls
don’t like to feel as if they gave in to a guy’s “temptation”. It
makes them feel cheap.
But when you structure your invitation like it’s not a
temptation, you make it easier for her to come – even
though she knows it might still be a temptation.
Some other “reasons” you can give a girl to come over are:.
– “There is this new action movie I got, come over let’s watch
it together. Bring pop corns. I will bring the drinks”
– “Can you play cheese? Come over let me teach you. Make
sure you come with note books for note taking”.
Are you getting the pattern here?
One; You are inviting her over with a reason
Two; you are making her see you are not desperate for her
visit by playfully giving her conditions for her visit (eg: bring
pop corns)
Three; You are sounding as if she will agree to the invitation.
As in, you went ahead to ask her to bring pop corns without
waiting for her to give an answer if she will come or not.
DISCLAIMER: only use this strategy on a girl you suspect will
turn you down if you directly invite her over. If you are sure
she won’t turn you down, just directly ask her to come and
visit you (no need for the hassle in that case).

Biafra is not forcing any body.
Biafra should not and must not force any nation to join her.

If the Ibibio nation do not want to be part of Biafra, then we should move on without them.

I a die hard Biafran. However, if any nation like the Ibibios will be forced into Biafra which they dont want, then the foundation of Biafra will be fraudulent. And some of us will do all we can to stand against Biafra on that one.
The best we can do is to educate and persuade, but to force and intimate like we have it in Nigeria is out of the question.

We want a great nation with a great foundation.

We cannot create another Nigeria and call it Biafra.

just like some people created something worse than the PDP and called it APC.

Every nation in Biafra must be allowed to make their choice.
The people must be allowed to decide what they want.

If the leaders of Biafra start intimidating any minority nation, then some of us will lead the Opposition against such leaders.
it is as simple as that.

Cheers to all.

PassingShot:
There is no gainsaying the fact that I am an ardent believer and supporter of the president. I am still proud in the little ways I contributed to his victory at the last presidential poll. Not only that I campaigned for his emergence online and offline, I also contributed financially to the course.

As I have said on many occasions in the past, it will be silly for me to want to stick out my neck to defend politicians when they’re clearly in the wrong and especially when I am not in any way related to any of them. PMB has clearly erred in this prolonged delay to name his cabinet! I once did a thread to support him when he was criticized just after twelve days in office https://www.nairaland.com/2371788/efforts-signs-president-buhari-twelve but I have no genuine reasons to continue to hold on to that position after another three weeks.

At first, I accepted that GEJ’s deliberate delay in handing over of hand-over notes of MDAs to the president was responsible for the delay in appointing his ministers BUT can the same excuse/reason still be valid for the continued stalling of this very important action more than a month after receiving the documents?

I also accepted that not knowing who the NASS leaders were going to be was partly responsible for not naming a COS and SGF but again, it’s already more than three weeks since we’ve known our Senate President and HOR Speaker! Besides, appointment of these two very important personnel (SGF & COS) have NOTHING to do with the purported “merging of some MDAs” the president is believed to be working on.

Not having a COS and an SGF must surely be impacting negatively on governance. Not acting very fast and decisively to name key advisers and some ministers (Finance, Works, Power/Energy, etc.) is surely making the president look confused and indecisive! It is irritating and even frustrating to read that we may not have ministers until late August or early September. Though I don’t want to believe this news but if it is what PMB is planning, it is in his interest to drop toying with that idea. Such action/plan is not only naïve, clueless and irritating but also very dangerous and unexplainable!

Does the president not need some of these ministers and other political appointees to drive through his policies? Or does he think he and a few clique of Fashola, Ogbonnaya Onu, Amaechi, etc (in unofficial capacities at that) can resolve all the myriad challenges in all ministries? Can the Permanent Secretaries breathe the type of fresh life needed in their ministry to it? Nigeria deserves far better than this from PMB/APC and their team.

Make no mistakes about it, sending GEJ and his team packing and the enthronement of Muhammadu Buhari as our president was the best decision Nigerians took in the last general election. But having said this, I have to add that the president has somewhat failed in the areas mentioned. PMB needs to make us continue to believe in him as the leader Nigeria needs at this critical time of our nation’s life.

I want to make it clear to Nigerians that u can delay a course (restoration of Biafra) but u can never kill it. If they like let them tell the devil to close voice of Biafra it won't stop the struggle and eventually the restoration.

ChukwuOkikeAbiama Voice: "Nigeria, Let my people go"

long live our director ( he has studied on Biafra for sixteen years)
long live Biafrans (children of most high, industrious... despite all the intimidation and suppression, the region with second lowest poverty rate... umuchukwu)
long live Biafran land ( the blessed land feeding the entire zoo called Nigeria)

People should face more serious issues like how Boko Haram killed 150 souls in one day.

the massacre of 2-3 millions biafrans is not a serious issue?

NgeneUkwenu:
Recently in Nnewi, I was in a commercial bus and the conductor was exchanging words with a passenger who had complained that the bus was over speeding. The angry passenger warned the driver that her family would not spare him if she gets injured. In response, the conductor started barking at the young lady and warned her never to expect any help from the zoo legal institutions. Curious, I asked the conductor what he meant by ‘zoo institutions’ and he advised me to tune in to Radio Biafra 102.1 FM at night. Before then, I had heard about the pirate radio station but didn’t know it has commenced transmission on the frequency modulated band. That night, I decided to tune in to the station, and immediately I hit the frequency, I heard the presenter, who addresses himself as Nnamdi Kanu (also, Director), shouting on a caller for addressing Buhari as Nigeria’s president. “Stupid black monkey and baboon, will you end this call if you don’t recognise Buhari as a pedophile, a child rapist and terrorist president of the zoo.” Instantly I recalled my conversation with the bus conductor and understood that the zoo he was talking about is Nigeria, an evil slang he must have picked up from the pirate station presenter, Nnamdi Kanu.

Another thing I observed on that first day of listening to the station was the overwhelming quantity of falsehoods it propagates. Some of the falsehoods include the continuous aerial bombing of Igbos in Calabar by forces of the Nigerian government and the ordering of joint security forces in Chad to kill Igbos by President Muhammadu Buhari, after his visit to the country.

Subsequent listening to the station revealed it as having agents who regularly call during its live interactive programmes to disseminate false stories. It is really sad that some misinformed people take the falsehoods of the pirate radio station seriously. The recent protest of market men and women in Onitsha over the alleged transfer of Boko Haram prisoners to Anambra State was catalysed by a broadcast of the pirate station a day before the protest, in which it alleged that President Buhari has ordered the massive transfer of detained Boko Haram fighters to Anambra State to kill many Igbos.

The alarming thing about Radio Biafra is that it is fast gathering the support of less educated Igbos, such as commercial motorcyclists, bus drivers and conductors, as well as local market men and women, who can be easily deceived by the station’s falsehoods. If the station is not urgently checked it can endanger the peace and security of Igbo land and Nigeria in general.

Igbos should note that the greatest enemy they have now is Nnamdi Kanu, who stays far away in well secured London, and delights in inciting his people towards bloodshed, against their fellow compatriots, and the Nigerian state. No sane individual can afford to promote hatred between his brothers and other compatriots in the fundamentally interlinked global village that we live in today. Also, anyone who means well for his brothers and sisters cannot afford to activate violence and bloodshed in his homeland, which if allowed will definitely lead to the massive loss of lives and property. It also baffles me how a person who claims to love his brothers and sisters will come on air and make careless statements that can lead to the destruction of the businesses and livelihoods, shops and property of Igbos outside Igboland. Is he on drugs or insane?

It is no longer news that Igbos are mostly international business men and women, so a person like Nnamdi Kanu and Radio Biafra advocating for the destruction of Igbo property abroad and the relocation of all Igbos to Igbo land in this era of a global village must be confused. If Nnamdi Kanu believes that no one can make it and prosper outside Igbo land, what is he doing in London? Why can’t he come back to his home state, Abia to ‘progress’? It is unfortunate that some misinformed Igbos are even donating money to him. What a fraud! It is quite clear that the fraudster is fast exploiting misinformed fellows to his benefit. It is even funny that he has disowned all Igbo socio-cultural organisations and appointed himself commander-in-chief. The manner at which he abuses fellow Igbos and blacks, who he regularly calls “black monkeys and baboons”, show that he is nothing other than a racist; if other leaders abuse their followers in such manner, then what sort of leadership will that be?

The federal government and the international community should note that the pirate Radio Biafra is a pending disaster and if urgent measures are not taken to end its activities, it can metamorphose into the media wing of a terrorising group sharing an ideology of hatred and bloodshed with the Islamic State (IS).

Igbos should note that Nigeria has come to stay, so instead of wasting their time and energy in a wild goose dream of secession, they should support other nationalities and groups in building a stronger, more united and better Nigeria. The federal government and the international community should also make necessary efforts to track down, arrest and prosecute the director of the pirate radio station, Nnamdi Kanu, for inciting violence, bloodshed and attempting a crime against humanity.

Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria!

Chukwuemerie Uduchukwu writes from Awka, Anambra State.

So the massacre of 2 to 3 million Biafran souls (this is why Steve Jobs died an atheist) by Nigeria govt headed by Yakubu Gowon and a military fiat that robbed biafrans of all they had with £20 orchestrated by Awolowo na CHILD'S PLAY?
very soon TV Biafra will be airing life all over the world. All the atrocities committed by Nigerian govt and their accomplice must be exposed.
Since Nigeria has expired, (1914-2014) we called on the restoration of Biafra. The struggle is legal and is enshrined in UN charter for struggle of indigenous people.
Long live Nnamdi Kanu
Long live biafrans
long live Biafra Land.
