Little wonder the media airwaves have been relatively quiet.

Two members of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the House of Representatives on Wednesday defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The members are Tony Nwoye from Anambra and Udende Emmanuel from Benue.

In separate letters read by the Speaker, Yakubu Dogara, on the floor of the House, the members cited division in the PDP as the reason for their defection.

They said since the PDP had broken into three factions headed by Ali Modu Sheriff, Ahmed Makarfi and Jerry Gana, respectively, they did not wish to belong to any faction.

However, the Minority Leader, Leo Ogor (Delta-PDP), in a point of order protested the position of the members alleging that the PDP was divided.

He said that no recognised institution such as the courts had ruled that the party had split into factions.

In a remark, Mr. Dogara said there was no need to debate the matter as the issue of the PDP would be handled at the national level.

If this kind of marriage happens to be from the North, i bet our Yoruba friends will cry to the heavens singing ' child abuse'.

PDP has been in-fighting since the time of Bamanga Tukur, so this is not new to them.

One would have thought that after the disastrous election last year, PDP should have got their acts together, yet nothing has been accomplished to provide and engaged APC as a strong opposition party.

Another year is going, PDP haven't got their bearing and they are making useless noise about 2019. All the various committees, sub-committees, and factional groups fighting for the soul of PDP are just there for their own daily bread, not for the betterment of the party or Nigeria.

I wish them all the very best in their unsurmountable task.

Why didn't the Late Yar'dua/GEJ government probe OBJ's administration, at least they tried to get Tinubu before the CCB Tribunal.

A Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt has granted an interim injunction restraining the immediate past National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff and Professor Adewale Oladipo who were removed from office at the PDP National Convention held on Saturday May 21, 2016, from parading themselves as National officers of the Party pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice brought before it by the Peoples Democratic Party.

According to a statement personally signed by the presiding judge, Justice A. M. Liman, the court granted a restraining order on any member of the National Working Committee of the PDP who was removed from office by the Party’s National Convention in Port Harcourt from receiving nominations and or submitting names to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as officers or candidates of the PDP in whatever capacity pending the hearing and determination of the Motion on Notice brought by the Party. In addition, INEC was restrained by the Court from according or continuing to accord any recognition to Sen. Ali Modu Sheriff, Professor Adewale Oladipo or any or all members of the National Working Committee of the PDP removed from office at the Party’s National Convention in Port Harcourt, as officers or organs of the PDP pending the hearing and determination of the Motion on Notice. The National Caretaker Committee of the PDP headed by Sen. Ahmed Markarfi, former Governor of Kaduna State, also got a boost with an order of the Court mandating INEC to recognise it in all matters pertaining the conduct of Primary Elections for Political Offices and the submission of the PDP List of Candidates for any elections to be conducted by INEC pending the hearing and determination of the Motion on Notice.

Britain’s Serious Fraud Office (SFO) is currently investigating Rolls Royce, a British company, and Victor Ochei, former speaker of the Delta state house of assembly.

According to Financial Times, investigators are trying to establish if the company bribed Nigerian officials for energy deals, and to also find out the role Ochei played in the $100 million deal involving Oghareki power plant, an uncompleted project in Delta.

The contract was awarded to Davnotch Nigeria, a company founded by Ochei.

The newspaper said Norbert Osodi, Davnotch’s managing director, claimed that the company was not aware of the SFO investigation.

He reportedly said Davnotch had won the Oghareki tender through proper processes, adding that past allegations of corruption against the project were “not credible” and had been mounted by Ochei’s political enemies.

Osodi said there was no conflict of interest between Ochei’s simultaneous holdings of a majority shareholding in Davnotch and his political seat, because the parliamentary position was part-time.

Ochei divested his interest in Davnotch in June 2011, when he became speaker.

FT said attempts to reach Ochei were unsuccessful. Neither he nor the Delta state government responded to requests for comment submitted through their websites.

A Nigerian company called PSL Engineering & Control allegedly acted for Rolls-Royce on projects to supply gas turbines to power plants in Bayelsa and Delta states.

A PSL official who answered the phone at the company’s Lagos headquarters said he was not aware of any investigation, but Rolls Royce said it was co-operating with relevant authorities.

“We have made it clear that Rolls-Royce will not tolerate business misconduct of any kind,” it said.

Warren East, the chief executive appointed in July, 2015, has said unethical behaviour will not be tolerated and the group has cut the number of third-party agents used abroad significantly over the past few years.

What pricked my interest is the fact that the position has been zoned to the north central where this young and tenacious man hails from.

Flow with me to find out who this person is but first I would love to disclose a little information about him.

He hails from Ayere community in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi state, north central Nigeria. As a grassroots politician, his people are rest assured that their genuine "interest" which is always the permanent thing in politics will be well protected and represented.

He has been in the fore front of political progress in PDP and has been on ground for every single election PDP participated in ranging from LGA to Governorship elections no matter the distance and inconvenience with a mandate of ensuring that PDP does not only win the elections but also the confidence of the citizenry. A man with unimaginable quantum of content, capacity and passion (CCP), this is one man that would help to take PDP to disneyland. Little wonder he is fondly called Mr CCP (Content, Capacity and Passion) by people who have worked with him.

The grassroots man, being so fittingly and eloquently described above, who doesn’t believe much in luck, but believes more in hard work, in convincing, in delivery and in capacity, the dogged and fearless Mr CCP is the current PDP director of new media and he is by name Mr. Adeyanju Deji.

If a prospective candidate in the person of SK, who is contesting for a national office in PDP cannot be verified to hold a substantial position in his working life - how can he manage the shenanigans going on in a chaotic PDP party.
