Little wonder the media airwaves have been relatively quiet. |
Two members of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the House of Representatives on Wednesday defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). The members are Tony Nwoye from Anambra and Udende Emmanuel from Benue. In separate letters read by the Speaker, Yakubu Dogara, on the floor of the House, the members cited division in the PDP as the reason for their defection. They said since the PDP had broken into three factions headed by Ali Modu Sheriff, Ahmed Makarfi and Jerry Gana, respectively, they did not wish to belong to any faction. However, the Minority Leader, Leo Ogor (Delta-PDP), in a point of order protested the position of the members alleging that the PDP was divided. He said that no recognised institution such as the courts had ruled that the party had split into factions. In a remark, Mr. Dogara said there was no need to debate the matter as the issue of the PDP would be handled at the national level. http://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/top-news/204527-two-pdp-reps-defect-apc.html |
If this kind of marriage happens to be from the North, i bet our Yoruba friends will cry to the heavens singing ' child abuse'. |
PDP has been in-fighting since the time of Bamanga Tukur, so this is not new to them. One would have thought that after the disastrous election last year, PDP should have got their acts together, yet nothing has been accomplished to provide and engaged APC as a strong opposition party. Another year is going, PDP haven't got their bearing and they are making useless noise about 2019. All the various committees, sub-committees, and factional groups fighting for the soul of PDP are just there for their own daily bread, not for the betterment of the party or Nigeria. I wish them all the very best in their unsurmountable task. |
Joblessness is a disease!!! |
Will their wedding certificate from Dubai be recognised in Nigeria? |
Apelex:PMB can only probe the immediate past administration as most details are still fresh. Why didn't the Late Yar'dua/GEJ government probe OBJ's administration, at least they tried to get Tinubu before the CCB Tribunal. |
PMB is showing that there is love in sharing - PMB travels to more exotic destinations, whilst his VP travels to less exotic places...all least all na travel. |
Around 2 months ago, Modu Sheriff was the best thing after slice bread for PDP people. Shouting to high heavens that PMB and APC have met their match in Modu Sheriff. Where are they now, singing different tunes and talking in different language from the same tongue. I really pity their indecisiveness and these multiple factions abd court injunctions holding the great PDP party to ransom. |
A Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt has granted an interim injunction restraining the immediate past National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff and Professor Adewale Oladipo who were removed from office at the PDP National Convention held on Saturday May 21, 2016, from parading themselves as National officers of the Party pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice brought before it by the Peoples Democratic Party. According to a statement personally signed by the presiding judge, Justice A. M. Liman, the court granted a restraining order on any member of the National Working Committee of the PDP who was removed from office by the Party’s National Convention in Port Harcourt from receiving nominations and or submitting names to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as officers or candidates of the PDP in whatever capacity pending the hearing and determination of the Motion on Notice brought by the Party. In addition, INEC was restrained by the Court from according or continuing to accord any recognition to Sen. Ali Modu Sheriff, Professor Adewale Oladipo or any or all members of the National Working Committee of the PDP removed from office at the Party’s National Convention in Port Harcourt, as officers or organs of the PDP pending the hearing and determination of the Motion on Notice. The National Caretaker Committee of the PDP headed by Sen. Ahmed Markarfi, former Governor of Kaduna State, also got a boost with an order of the Court mandating INEC to recognise it in all matters pertaining the conduct of Primary Elections for Political Offices and the submission of the PDP List of Candidates for any elections to be conducted by INEC pending the hearing and determination of the Motion on Notice. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2016/05/court-bars-sheriff-as-pdp-chair-orders-recognition-of-markarfi-led-caretaker-committee/

EFCC, DSS, NPF, CCB, INEC and Ministry Of Justice are all patiently gathering good info and intel on Fayose, 2018 can't come quickly enough. Saraki's present case will be like child's play when compared to Fayose. The information in this article is did Fayose ever declared those assets when he was governor of Ekiti state during his first time back in 2006/2007. I believe many more to follow. |
Is Dino possessed for him to be rolling on the floor....politicians and their trickery... |
What's the purpose of this thanksgiving, who does it benefit apart from the Pastor and his family? |
I can't believe PDP allowed two of the worst governors in Nigeria (Fayose and Wike) to try to hijack the party structure by taking more of the initiatives. So sad that PDP has now broken to various factions - I can predict that one faction will definetely move towards APC soon. |
Only 5 years ![]() ![]() ?After the 5-year term he comes out to enjoy the rest of his loot !!!! Minimum prison sentence for fraud and money laundering should start from 15 years. |
Very good article |
Britain’s Serious Fraud Office (SFO) is currently investigating Rolls Royce, a British company, and Victor Ochei, former speaker of the Delta state house of assembly. According to Financial Times, investigators are trying to establish if the company bribed Nigerian officials for energy deals, and to also find out the role Ochei played in the $100 million deal involving Oghareki power plant, an uncompleted project in Delta. The contract was awarded to Davnotch Nigeria, a company founded by Ochei. The newspaper said Norbert Osodi, Davnotch’s managing director, claimed that the company was not aware of the SFO investigation. He reportedly said Davnotch had won the Oghareki tender through proper processes, adding that past allegations of corruption against the project were “not credible” and had been mounted by Ochei’s political enemies. Osodi said there was no conflict of interest between Ochei’s simultaneous holdings of a majority shareholding in Davnotch and his political seat, because the parliamentary position was part-time. Ochei divested his interest in Davnotch in June 2011, when he became speaker. FT said attempts to reach Ochei were unsuccessful. Neither he nor the Delta state government responded to requests for comment submitted through their websites. A Nigerian company called PSL Engineering & Control allegedly acted for Rolls-Royce on projects to supply gas turbines to power plants in Bayelsa and Delta states. A PSL official who answered the phone at the company’s Lagos headquarters said he was not aware of any investigation, but Rolls Royce said it was co-operating with relevant authorities. “We have made it clear that Rolls-Royce will not tolerate business misconduct of any kind,” it said. Warren East, the chief executive appointed in July, 2015, has said unethical behaviour will not be tolerated and the group has cut the number of third-party agents used abroad significantly over the past few years. https://www.thecable.ng/uk-investigates-rolls-royce-nigerian-politician-named-100m-fraud |
Hopefully, EFCC is establishing a close contact of 3rd degree with GEJ, but before then, the following people should present their statements - Okupe and Abati. |
I laff oyinbo laff ![]() The 'Canary bird' is about to sing, his hour of audition is finally here!!! |
We seriously have a very long way to go in this country, so signing of a disputed budget is now an achievement? I just hope the budget of deficit could achieve some meaningful development. APC, no more excuses, Nigerians want real change. |
Where is Obasanjo, Babangida, Buhari on the list? |
Any current politician on the list should resign immediately, unless they can prove that they have being in genuine business before entering politics. EFCC, ICPC and the CCB will be very busy for the next 4 years. |
It seems Fayose is trying all his best to be the leader of PDP South West...i wish him all the best in his misadventure!!! By the way how much did the Dome cost to build? |
TonyeBarcanista:Bros Tonye, Here you are again, trying to make your lord and master beautiful. You said you work as a PR consultant. Please stop writing all these articles. The bolded in your analysis are completely false and baseless. So your guy Deji Adeyanju went to an English School - Albion College to get an ordinary English Test Certificate. By the way there is another college named Albion College Europe - check to verify. Bros Tonye, do yourself a favour and check the website of Albion College - http://albioneurocollege.com/?attachment_id=98 As for the London Graduate School, I rest my case. Bros Tonye, do it right thing and be very truthful with your articles. |
It's beggers' belief that we are yet to see any tangible production from this oilfield. How many times has the news about the Aje Oilfield has been recycled? |
TonyeBarcanista:It's not only screenshot we want to read, have you care to open the pages to those links, you get next to nothing...is this how people are deceived in Nigeria without careful and thorough investigation on most companies. Bros Tonye, another question for you what is the company registeration number? http:///brand/afri http://www.vconnect.com/afri-products-limited-wuse-abuja_b29317?t=reviews Another website, are these developed by a professional or a primary 6 school leaver? So much for an organisation that has been in existence since 1999!!! |
Nigerians, we are the architect of our demise. See the crowd hailing someone who has cornered most of the resources to himself and his unborn generations. |
Sola Kuti runs a company known as Afriproducts Ltd which he founded in 1999 has pioneered many innovative ideas in the last 16 years. The Compang has Business and technology arms. The business areas include: A Fresh Juice and Smoothie Chain, Luxury goods, Business Development, Consultancy, Telecoms and infrastructure, Oil and Gas, Exports and Trading. The technology arm of Afriproducts in a joint venture pioneered the smaller denomination mobile recharge vouchers in Nigeria and also launched the first ever e - commerce enabled website in Nigeria circa 1999. Bros Tonye, The company founded by SK - Afriproducts Limited - does not even have a viable website in 2016, which according to your analysis was founded in 1999. You also mentioned the company was a pioneer of e-commerce in Nigeria circa 1999. Bros Tonye, Google the name of Afriproducts Limited and see for yourself what information came up: https://www.thinknigeriatv.com/good-governance-killer-of-corruption-sola-kuti-tedxjabi/ https://www.facebook.com/pages/Afriproducts-limited/234637793351299 Afriproducts Limited, only existed on an unproductive FB page. This kind of 'wayo' or 'mago-mago' or '419' no fit work in present day Nigeria. Bros Tonye, abeg tell us another story. If a prospective candidate in the person of SK, who is contesting for a national office in PDP cannot be verified to hold a substantial position in his working life - how can he manage the shenanigans going on in a chaotic PDP party. He is just like majority of Nigerian politicians who don't have any source of income but they only leech on the back of older and corrupt politicians for their daily bread. I wish PDP all the very best of luck during their National Convention. |
Fidelity is a private financial institution, who have taken the right decision in the interest if its shareholders. Nothing to do PMB. Now stealing is indeed corruption. |
Just like how Greece had a 150/1 outside bet to win the European Championship in 2004. Leicester won the premiership by being consistent, playing to their strength using the most favoured 4-4-2 formation. Kasper Schmeichel, also made history by winning the premiership with Leicester as a goalkeeper just like his dad did with Man Utd. |
