Individuals in leadership positions in both the Senate and HoR are corrupt. How can these set of people provide leadership in this country?

Whatever his new orientation - one thing is certain he can never menstruate like a woman or reproduce.

It's a shame though - civilisation in the wrong direction.

With all these federal allocation and internally generated revenues, no state should complain that they can't pay their civil service employees.

I think all the state governors must be held accountable, insisting that each state provide its monthly or quarterly management accounts.

If all these budget padding happened under OBJ, all the HOR officials will be removed immediately.

Looks like Fayose will be very busy attending to a number of court cases after his governorship tenure in 2018.

He brought all these upon himself.

A good appointment but in the wrong organisation.

This guy should be the one in-charge of the Ministry of Power.

Fashola should be have been given either the Foreign Ministry or Justice Ministry where his intellect can best be enhanced.

Femi Fani-Kayode, spokesman of the presidential campaign of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), says he got N800 million, being 10 per cent of his demands, for running the campaign of former President Goodluck Jonathan.

Faulting the charges filed against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Fani-Kayode said he has no regrets working for Jonathan.

He said from the day his party lost the election, he knew that there would be problems, but he refused to flee the country because he had not done anything wrong.

“Our director of finance sent money out to the various directors (including me) from our own private company account for us to run our operations,” he told Channels Television.

“I was given only 10% of what I needed (very small) about 800 million naira to run a campaign for three months and we utilised that money.

“I have done absolutely nothing wrong and neither has any of my co-accused. I saw this coming the day we lost elections and it was announced that the other side had won.

“I refused to leave the country just as I refused to leave the country in 2008 when I was accused of things then.

“I have absolutely no doubt that in the end of this particular exercise I will be declared innocent by the court simply because it is very obvious that this is a politically motivated allegation.”

Armed robbers getting sophistiscated in their operations - people should know the number rule, never ever leave any valuables in the car or in the vicinity of opportunists.

The Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of Lagos State Police Command said its operatives arrested one Abdullahi Olanrewaju, 30, a suspected armed robber over the weekend in Agege.

Olarewaju who is a suspected member of an Eight-man robbery gang, was apprehended during their operations at Abeje and Onibeju Streets, off Capitol Road in Agege Local Government area of the state.

The operatives noted that one of the resident, who was lucky to escape through the window, alerted the RRS team in the area that armed men were operating in their building.

The Police met a stiff resistance as they approach the building. But the swift response from the RRS operatives, who were on patrol routine in the area, led to the arrest one of them while others made away with two pump action guns, a sum of N549,500 and other valuables.

The suspect, who hails from Ita-Amoju in Kwara State, confessed that they went to the operation with four pump action guns and Jack knives in case of any security operatives intercept them.

“We went for that operation with bullet loaded four pump action guns. We had planned our movements for that night. We had intention to rob all the houses on the two streets, but luck ran out on us as we were able to visit only five buildings before the arrival of RRS operatives. We collected a lot of money, mobile phones and jewellery to mention a few.”

“When we sighted the police approaching, we had no choice than to shoot them. We opened fire on them and they retaliated immediately. But when we noticed that we were about to run out of bullets, we decided to take to our heels. Unfortunately for me, while other managed to escape, the police arrested me because I was unable to join the waiting vehicle,” he revealed.

“If I had known I would not have followed them that night. It was my first time of going out with them. I didn’t know they were into robbery but when I discovered the kind of business they wanted to introduce to me, it was too late for me to reject, they also threatened to kill me if I expose them,” the suspect regretted.[i][/i]

However, one of the residents alleged that the arrested suspect led the other members of his gang to their house. According to him, “That was the man who pointed gun at everyone of us threatening to shoot us if we fail to cooperate with them. They had to destroy my door room with sledge hammer before they could enter my room.”

Another victim who lives on Onibeju Street, confirmed the allegation that the suspect led his colleagues to their building. “It was a bad midnight for all of us. In fact, he hit one of our neighbors with the pump action. The man in question has been hospitalized receiving treatment,” he added.

The victims of the five buildings they visited on Ibeje and Onibeju streets, besieged RRS’ headquarters to identify the suspect as the gang leader who threatened to waste their lives.

“When I did the calculation, the fleeing robbers had escaped with amount of N549,500 collected from all of us with other valuables,” one of the victims said.

The items recovered from the arrested suspect were one cut-to-size pump action, Jack Knife, two laptops, 14 handsets, wrist watch and Two Thousand and Six Hundred Naira (2,600).

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Superintendent of Police, SP Dolapo Badmus, noted that the suspect is helping the Police with investigation in order to arrest the fleeing robbers

Every known armed robber(s) caught always have the same line of statement as if they have rehearsed it before they embarkment on any operation. It's always their first time...

This clearly shows that the corruption agenda is very selective, only targeting those whom the government wants to target.
At this junction, Nigeria is in serious trouble if this government cannot probe these people (Buratai and Dambazau).

Come 2019, another party will have every right to go after the APC party members and their appointees.

What some people don't understand is that if this allegations are true about Aisha Buhari, the US Justice department would have demanded that she be extradicted to the US to face justice.
By the way this has been going on since 2009, why can't the various past governments of OBJ, Yar'adua and GEJ do something about this case?
Also if this is true, the PDP party would have used this case during the 2015 election against PMB and the APC party.

The management of Skye Bank PLC today announced what it called the voluntary resignation of its top officers. The action followed plans by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to take over the bank due to distress arising from bad loans and insider malpractices by board members.

In a statement, the management said the CBN has approved the appointment of Alhaji M.K Ahmad as the new Chairman of the Board, and Tokunbo Abiru the new Group Managing Director and CEO. Bayo Sanni, Idris Yakubu, Markie Idowu and Abimbola Izu retain their positions as Executive Directors.

SaharaReporters learnt that the Chairman of the bank, Tunde Ayeni owed the bank at least N102 billion that had remained unpaid for several years. He was one of those who resigned today.

Mr. Ayeni, who is a close associate of former President Goodluck Jonathan, had taken over what used to be Eko Bank, Bond Bank, and Prudent Bank. He then used interbank loans to buy Mainstreet Bank for N135 billion and added it to his collection to create Skye Bank.

Since coming on stream, however, the bank has been consistently abused by its owners, who collect loans without collateral, and use them to fund lavish lifestyles and the acquisition of an assortment of private companies. Ayeni, for example, bought parts of an unbundled electricity company from what used to be the Power Holding Company of Nigeria, using Skye Bank funds. At the last count, he also owned Ibadan and Yola Discos, and also acquired Nigeria Telecommunication Limited (NITEL) and also owned a private jet.

Mr. Ayeni was also a close associate of the late former governor of Bayelsa, Diepreye Solomon Alamieyeseigha, and was linked with money laundering allegations concerning the late governor. It was through Alamieyeseigha that he became close to Mr. Jonathan during his time as deputy governor. Ayeni spent months in Economic and Financial Crimes Commission detention as the agency carried out investigations into the massive theft of Bayelsa State funds, but he was never charged to court.

Other non-executive directors of the bank who owed the bank include Jason Fadeyi, the chairman of Pan Ocean Oil company, who owes N90billion.

Furthermore, several businesses with links to the bank owed large sums to it but refused to service their loans. They include Atlantic Energy, owned by Jide Omokore and fugitive Kola Aluko, which is owing N70b; Oando Oil Company, N20b; and Captain Osa Okunbo. Kola Aluko's brother, Kunle, is among the non-executive directors who purportedly resigned from the bank's board today.

SaharaReporters sources said Heritage Bank, which is co-owned by Mr. Ayeni and Senate President Bukola Saraki, is next in line for a takeover by the Central Bank, which is also looking to force out Oba Otudeko from the board of First Bank of Nigeria due to his indebtedness of about N82billion.

In his letter of resignation today, outgoing MD of Skye Bank, Timothy Ogunoye lamented that his efforts to turn the fortune of the bank was thwarted by forces within and without the bank.

Muhammad K. Ahmad, OON, has about 35 years distinguished experience leading and working in various public sector organizations and financial services institutions in Nigeria. He was the pioneer Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the National Pension Commission and oversaw the establishment and growth of the Pension industry in Nigeria with over .5 trillion in assets to become a major contributor to Nigeria’s GDP. He holds a B.Sc (Economics) from Lagos State University and is a Fellow of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and an Honorary Senior Member of The Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN).

The question would be how much is his salary and how much does he have in revenues from business proceeds from 2014 to afford a mansion(s) in Abuja.

Before we forget I think FIRS should accompany EFCC on all investigations of property and businesses. It will be in order for FIRS to check or ask for tax clearance or payment receipts of the proceeds if verified as legit money.

The best and easiest way to go to nail majority of greedy politicians and their companies is by FIRS being involved in all investigations.
