I don't like the idea of asking us to send a topic to a friend before one can comment on the topic. That is blackmail! My friend that you want me to send to, may not be interested and may take it as an intrusion on his privacy. It can also mortgage his identity by exposing the email address to scammers. Please, lets keep our freedom. That method is not the best to attract people to NAIRALAND. I believe you are doing fine as it is. Your site is my homepage! What more do you want? Please don't copy those other Naija websites that use similar method. Thats why i stopped visiting their sites. I hate being forced, or coerced or blackmailed to do something. Thanks. |
A lady colleague at work travelled home for two weeks. When she came back, everybody welcomed her back warmly. On my own part, I playfully told her i missed her. Though we used to share jokes and generally gist before, now she hangs around me and sends me text messages. Its seems obvious to me that she assumed that i toasted he by saying i missed her. Please what do i do now? I don't really "miss " her like that! |

@stillwater You sound like someone i will like to be my "friend". You are intelligent with a good sense of humour. You did not put your email address in ur profile. And whats with the picture of the singer you used as your picture? Is he your idol or one of your friends? Send to me @ bolukom@yahoo.co.uk. Stop venting spleen on the unrepentant men. They are all the same. |
@tobs Pls, i beg u, drop the tricks 4 me bolukom@yahoo.co.uk |

Soludo succeeded with e-banking and ATM. So he thinks everything in Nigeria must be done the "Oyinbo" way. Let him be told and 4 those that think that spraying is only for the rich, that spraying is a way of relieving tension for the poor masses of this country that go to "O-wa-nbe" to forget the nonsense that is going on in this country in the name of democracy, harassment and extorsion by police, threats by "area boys" etc. He may not be close to the grassroots because of the silverspoon in his mouth, to know the true values of the people of this country. Now lets x-ray the case at hand like "learned" people like the professor. The impression is that it makes our Naira dirty. Yeees (no mistake in the spelling o! pls pronounce it the naija way). To some extent stepping on the notes makes them dirty. But the notes are actually not "trampled" on or "marched" intentionally and if so, this occurs rarely. In fact it is only stray notes that escaped picking by the celebrant's friend that gets to the floor (except at Igbo peoples' parties). In fact. musicians have professional pickers that collect the note almost immediately it touches the head. Please note that big denominations are usually changed to plenty "mint" lower denations at parties. If the notes are that dirty, how come people exchange them at parties that easily? Now, in case Soludo does not know, what actually makes the notes dirty, is the way market men and women treat them. They fold them, put them under their bra, on their sweat-soaked body. Palm-oil sellers, mechanics, and their likes collect notes from customers with their stained hands. So, in comparison, spraying constitutes very little dirt to the notes. Now if Soludo must arrest sprayers, let him also arrest the market men and women especially the women that put notes under their bras! And he should try it in northern Nigeria! Professor, your reform in the banking industry is laudable, but please do your research properly. I also believe that there are more serious problems in this country than to pursue controversial matters like this which in any case does not affect the growth or fall of our economy. Neither does it constitute a threat to life and property like the way armed robbers are targetting banks nowadays! A little dose of politics will be good for your psychology. Don't be like late Chief Awolowo that went to Aba (a town in eastern nigeria) in those days to seek thier support for election but promised to ban importation of "okrika clothes". He never got their vote, though he had good intentions. |

PROBLEMS WITH POLYGAMY Whichever way you look at the issue of polygamy, one is bound to se the evil side of it, especially those from polygamous families who have watched their mothers fight on nearly every issue just because of jeaalousy or genuinely not wanting to be cheated. The response of the husband in such cases is not do do anything that will not go round. If Child A is brilliant enough to go to Harvard, he cannot go because the remaining children will want to go too. Over-population resulting from jealousy is another thing. If wife A has 4 chidren, wife E that came yesterday will aspire to have five, so that she will not be cheated. The result is a family that cannot provide adequately for the needs of the children. As somebody pointed out, even if the husband is rich enough, what about the parental emotional tie from father to child. How many children can a father attend to in a day with all the trouble children cause. He ends up shouting and cursing them. The children begin to get scared of the man and gradually the emotional connection starts breaking. There areso many other problems. PROBLEMS OF MONOGAMY With all the attendant problems of polygamy, monogamy is still un-realistic in all societies. the attempt to practice either under the teaching of religion or moral belief in not cheating the partner has not (and cannot) solve the fundamental problem of NATURE. 1. THERE ARE MORE WOMEN THAN MEN. The ratio is about (4 to 1). No apology to Obasanjo's census. Go to hospitals and find out the birth ratio. So if one man, one wife, what happens to the remaining women. The answer is well known to women themselves. Some of them know what they have faced b4 hooking a man. The unfortunate ones are along Allen avenue or pretending 2 be students in tertiary institutions, while practicing prostitution in the name of ARISTO. 2. MEN LIKE VARIETY. As if nature knew that one man should attend to more than one woman because of the inequality in number, men naturally soon get tired of "eating the same food everyday". Kudos to men that can stick to their wives, but I know most men prefer that they can have a change sometimes. Not that they dont love their wives mind you. Its just the adrenaline or sorry the "gene" since we are in the genetic age. So i have given you the problems now. what are the solutions? |
Please read comments by Olanajim and follow it exactly. I totally agree with his contribution. olanajim, are u a counsellor? |
