What the hell is booking fee when there's a base fare?

Well, I'm not interested though, if my account was still open, they would have heard from me by mail should I see any discrepancy on my earnings.

What sense does it make,

Booking fee (3%)
Base fare (fixed price) N260
Driver's commission: 20%
Total Commission charges: 23% from the total sum collected from the rider yet you claim the driver is not being charged the 23% but 20%.

This is nothing but double taxation/robbery on the path of both the riders and the drivers because you've already charged a base fare which is same as booking fee. Now you collect 20% from that N260 from the driver and also collect an extra 3% of the total sum not just on the booking fee even.

This is daylight robbery and this fight is not just for the drivers alone to fight but also for the riders as well... The country is hard already and we can't keep allowing all of these ill happenings going on

I carried some unilag students on 1.9x from Luth to Unilag and the trip ended 2900. They were complaining that Bolt rate is outrageous.

That the only reason they used Bolt is because they didn't have time to wait for Indriver drivers. They were cursing Bolt that Indriver will soon take over the same way Bolt took over Uber.

I was laughing at them in my mind. They forgot that drivers and not riders determine the wave of things.

Many would want to use Uber because of the cheaper price but when you look at the time it will take you to get a driver, you will be forced to use Bolt.

Some riders wait over one hour before they can get Uber driver to come pick them. I don't know how Indriver works and I doubt I'd be interested to know

The bolded is one main reason most Uber riders tend to behave themselves when ever a driver finally agrees to come pick them up.

Some of them will be like, "please don't cancel pls I'll add sth". The way the ladies greet you self enh you will be wondering weather u be buhari.

While I can't say much about Abuja roads, I also thought the same about Lagos till I started ehailing. I felt the issue of bad roads in Lagos were being exaggerated.

I didnt drive one month before I realised the bad roads are not being discussed enough.

Riders will take you to some very bad roads you never knew existed.

Just keep that in mind. The roads may not be as good as you think they are.

Friday I only manage to do just 2 trips (was still trying to nurse my wounds sustained from Bolt blocking never knew it's a blessing in disguise.

Meanwhile, I was busy licking rider's ass just to stay afloat for my account not to be blocked yet they still blocked it after managing 25trips trying to chase ordinary 9k bonus after completing 55trips with 85% completion rate and 90% acceptance rate... In all the 4days on Bolt I grossed 45k.
Gross oh not net.

Uber is beginning to proof to me that they're the boss of ehailing.

The person you bought the car from hope he gave you the duties and original documents?

They the person gave you the plate number? If not, try Talk to him and see if he can release the plate to you to use pending when yours will be ready. But note it's his personal property and may want to use it so tell him you'll return it as soon as yours is ready.

You should have given him below 5stars since you're aren't satisfied with his services to you but its just so unfortunate that driver's account life is tied to riders' ratings but rating, 3, or 4 stars won't do much damage to his account and your paths would still cross again if you make a request next time but rating 1star means you'll never ever meet that driver or rider ever again and his rating will dropped drastically.

So all those riders rating drivers 1 star don't really know what they're actually doing to themselves because they may be stranded some day and may never get a driver close to them because they've actually blocked all the drivers with their 1star rating b4.

As for the tip request... You for clear the guy him f**k up... Next time don't shy away from anytin hurts or you're not comfortable with them give the person a chance to explain himself and you'll be good and happy. But that driver no get shame at all how will he be asking for tips, that's shameful abeg even if your change is H I'll give it to you if I have it not asking "should I keep the changed"? No na!

The only place I'm having issue is, sometimes I may not have change and will tell my riders, I dont have change oh, some will think I want to use style to collect their change, some will say don't worry, why some will insist I must look for it for them especially women and most of the time the fare is less than 1k with bonus again self yet you want me to enter Sun and rain to look for your change for you...I will just ask them to do transfer instead but one woman one day saud she can't do transfer oh... My tokunbo car was within 24hrs to get everything I sent money to the guy and he sent me snap shot of all the document the next day apart from the police extract or rcm don't know what they call it again, it was on a Friday and he said police dont work on that Friday but everything was delivered to me on Monday.

He say make I begin locate am "my hazard light is on, silver Toyota Corolla" took me about 5 minutes to locate him, inside that hot sun.
I enter, he wan begin complain about "I kept him waiting", I was livid and jejely just plugged in my earbuds and cranked my music up... I got to my destination, oga say "abeg o, rate me and tip me something for waiting".... Na there I change am for am.




So tell me, what did I do wrong? What would an expatriate do? I know say I be local man...

Sorry bro... Same way we have bad rider is same way we gave bad drivers and also good riders and good drivers the thing is you cant meet good people at the time just try to be good at all time and appreciate good people at all time too.

That's what they do i experienced it last week as well... As my -ve bal got to 5k+ I got a cash trip to surulere on 1.9x from Lekki so I insisted the guys must change it to card payment as its already late night and Friday for that matter so even if I pay it will take till Monday b4 it will reflect. They agreed and reordered again.

Trip ended 3.5k bolt took about 2hrs to reconcile my account.

Bolt is never sincere at all.

Another one was, all the trips I did on a particular day was not counting even my dashboard was on a stand still yet the -ve balance was the only thing that was changing.

At COB id to restart my phone b4 I knew how much total I worked and Nos of trip done.

Secondly, u can't change mode of payment when request has already been made so what exactly r u upto??
The guys voice disappeared but When he found his voice back he still insisted he has started d trip I was upset and just cancelled it from my end, called my staff to tell him to get down from d car.
Baba called me back and started apologizing. He tot I was a babe. I said I have cancelled d trip already, theres nothing I can do, except I request again. He shouldn't worry Bolt will pay him the distance he has driven already. (But ofcourse d criminal didn't start d trip so he is getting nothing) I asked him where he is, so I will request him again he said Kofo Abayomi. I requested again but it was picking someone else. I called him and told him its picking someone else, then he suggested we do it offline, so I told him estimate is 3k to 3,400. Will he accept N3,500?
He started grumbling he moved from Lekki and there was surge there that he was supposed to get about 5k. Then I reminded him that it was out of his own making, he wanted to cheat me, but he met the wrong person today. So that's his punishment, if u will go start coming, if not leme request again, d choice is yours.

Some people are just undying, unrepentant scammers...This guy has done only 130 trips...he obviously isn't a new driver. He has been blocked already and is either using someone's else's account or has registered again with a fake licence.

As much as we complain about bad Riders let's ensure we are good Drivers too

I have decided to waive that one day for him but with a warning that the next time it happens, I will not.

The 2% is not applicable to every driver oh lets get it right. Me now I'm on 10% com after 6trips this week so I do not know how many I'll be placed on by next week.

The way I see it, getting blocked for whatever reason is totally avoidable and in my opinion, you have to be really careless to get blocked for whatever reason at all.

The driver wants me to waive payment for the day he was blocked and I have refused. Am I being harsh?

PS: The agreement does not say anything about being blocked.

Don't say so menh... Account get block for several reasons and not everyone has the expertise and experience you've to avoid it besides you can be count unaware.

Now, to the main issue you're currently faced it this is what I use to do then I was renting.

Just once I found myself in a situation whereby my both accounts where blocked, i mean both Uber and Bolt but luckily the day my Uber was blocked Bolt unblocked my account the following day. Immidiately my account was blocked I quickly informed my Oga since I already informed him I used just Uber while we where drafting out the agreement for the rental. But this block and unblock came during the week end, Friday and I'd not even raised his 25k by then hoping to do that during the weekend. I just informed him against the next week knowing fully well I would need to do a Bolt inspection the next week as well.

So what i did was to hustle out his money any which means so I'd to go to Ojota garage and load Ibadan and coming back I already had his 25k, rested on Sunday then went for Bolt inspection on Monday.

So what am I trying to say? All renters should endeavor to always be transparent and honest, have all app available to work but if one is blocked make do of the other if no one available then take the car to your partner and hand over the keys otherwise you'll pay for the days car is with you no stories because every driver on ehailing is expected to have all apps readily available to work with should cases like this arises. Any driver that has just one app is definitely not serious to work.

So at kanuisagoat, find out if the block is 1day, 2days or 1 week then look at his part records, relationship, performance and maintenance culture with you and your car to make your decision but if the block is permanent and he can't find another means to keep paying you after one week grace then collect your car from him. If he's lucky car is still available after he has sorted himself out, fine! Otherwise, move on. You're running a business not a company.

It's not about maturity, I have the right to decline you service if its not worth it, you can't mess with me mentally and expect me to continue with the trip while also accusing me of fraud. One day you go chop exactly same breakfast and you'll narrate it here.

Only honest people and sincere people share both good and unfavourable experiences.

Most of us here share experiences that will make people sing their praise. So don't expect to hear bad experience from them here.

For some of us taking transfers, note that some bank transfers do reverse, especially if riders use Access ban or Kuda bank. I had this funny experience with a rider who transferred from Kuda today. Thank God Na guy wey get church mind. He did the transfer in my presence and I saw successful. Na so I comot for another trip. Minutes later alert no reach. I had to call him. He asked me to come over cos he would prefer I take him else again.

Twas when I got to his place I narrated fully to him that the transfer didn't go through.

After ending the new trip with him, then he tried transferring to me thrice. Each was successful. But lo and behold, they were all reversed.

The last one later went through as I saw the alert in my bank app.

So, watch your eye out there.

Ive done over a 100 transactions with Kuda in the last 2-3 months and never for once have I experienced this but well, this is December so anything can happen. The one that gets me annoy the most is waiting for hours to get alert.

Some 3/4 days ago it took over 4hrs b4 I cud get an alert from Access bank and I've observed for a very long time now that Access bank and Zenith bank are not transactions friendly at all sometimes it even get reverted
