Young man apply for a job or better still build on your passion or goal in life. As a young graduate that you're Uber job should be the last option on your list so don't dent your young career with it.

But if you have a sponsor that's still willing to sponsor you further your education then you can do the uber job as a side job at your leisure.

Drop that poverty mentality of "fast way to make money". The patient dog they say eats the fastest bone.

Advice from an experience friend.

This stuff happened not more than 7 months ago. You weren't there when your Nigerian police was dragging my own mother around and disgracing her. Or myself

Don't judge hastily. I almost was charged to court for kidnapping which If I recollect was between 29 years imprisonment and straight death by hanging

I'm astonished at the speed of your reply in which I later realised you quote me out of context. This is me just trying to help you heal but its u fortunate you then see me as a judge trying to judge you. My apologies if you feel so, I never intended to.

Its good you moved away from the place of incidence, a good step to rehabilitate, nevertheless, try read my previous post with a calm and open mind. It will do you more good than arm.

I was almost accused of kidnapping when the police turned it upside down. That how did I end with the kids for years if not kidnap. My image and that of my family in the area was seriously dented. Thankfully we treated the kids well and they wore the same clothes mine wore and eat the same meal so many people in the community knew it was a ploy. But the experience is one that seriously damaged my soul.

I will hardly help people again. Hardly.
Suffering; Even when there's no physical or mental ailment. Humans suffer due to the two major fundamental uniqueness that distinguish the human race from every other spaces, memories and imaginations.

Madam/Sir, this is exactly what you're suffering from. Fear as a result of uncertainties of the future base on memories of past events. But one question you should ask yourself is, during which you where doing this philanthropic and voluntary works, how did you feel as a human? Does it make you happy? fulfil? does it put a smile in your soul when you see those kids smiling and happy? I'm sure it did. That should be your focus. So dwell in those moments of joy you felt then by setting aside the bad memories and imaginations to heal you soul from this affliction that's upon you. No one, no prayers, no apology can set you free these agony you feel right now but you alone can.

You can go in YouTube, search and listen to Sarhguru's videos on Yogi and Mystic they'll help you to heal and then you'll bounce back to conscienceness and to life again.

I've been therefore, so I can relate. worked for somebody before diligently with all sincerity, honesty, strength, risk and everything humanly you could think about only for the person to axe me at a very time I needed the job to go through a difficult time with my wife, kid and unborn child. As if that was not enough this guy still went ahead to tarnish my image that I even stole from him. I was broken to my soul but thank God because I have this subconscious believe that a clear conscience fears no death. So applied the law of attraction which is setting aside all of my memories and imaginations and trust me today I'm doing great even though I've not gotten the desire results I want for myself as a man, husband and a father but I'm optimistic.

Opportunity for some drivers to cash out grin

I think PHC has the highest rate. The fare is N85/km..
Really? N85/km?? Well the Ph thatbi know is super saturated with a lot of taxi operators and so many normal town service buses and shuttles.

I kmow Ph wella and most people that uses taxi are Uniport students, some oil company workers, visitors from outside and more developed states lile Lagos and Abuja then some high class residences... An average Ph residence can park their car if it has a fault and use shuttle of N50,N100 or N200 bus. Most can't afford taxi let alone N85/km and probably N12 or N15/min all in the name of "oil rich state".

I'm very sure after they've gain ground they'll slash the fare because that's a caption for drivers to sign up with them. And I'm also sure they they womt have a large share base of the market lile the locals.

Yaba to Abule Osun is about 25km plus waiting time

Estimated as 3.5k minimum and 4.5k Max

Coming back estimated 3.5k min and 4.5Max

Yaba to VI 1.2k min 2kmax

Min amount 3.5 + 3.5 + 1.2 = 8.2k
Max amount 4.5+ 4.5+ 2 = 11k

To me, what the app calculated was d going trip plus the time on the app, the distance covered from Abule Osun to Yaba and Yaba to VI was not calculated

For giving him 8k, the guy was reasonable and for adding the 1k... You have also done well.

Yaba to Abule Osun - N600
Waiting for 1hr.30mins - N1000
Abule Osun to Jibowu - N500
Another waiting of 30mins - N330
Abule Osun to Kofo Abayomi - N2,000
Base Fare - N220
Total fare for the ride is N4,650
So plus or minus N4,700 was the right fare for that trip, App was very correct.

Oga, all it takes to open an Uber account is a phone number and an email

If Uber or Bolt had enough biodata of riders, people would be scared to kill drivers and steal their cars. I once had a Bolt account with profile name FFFFFF. How Bolt wan know say na me? grin

The reason why Davit called the man is because he listened to the conversation between those girls.

Quick question: If I order a ride for a friend, and you pick them and they forgot a package in your car, would you call me if you really have the contact of the person you carried?

This thing na very simple something. Call the girls and give them their drinks. Forget all these police and court of law wey we dey assume. E no really follow for the discussion
Bros your question will be base on how our trip went. If poca do me well while on trip on yiur request I swear I go even carry her go Oweri on your card and bring her back 3days later still on your card. But if she no do me well i go call you say bros, "you c dat girl wey u tell me say na ur fiance so enh na one baba for banana island house I go drop her ooh"grin she even call you her mugu 5", and she forget one expensive wine she I hear her telling her friend on the phone say she collect for ur cupboard". That's how far I will go for oloshos, they don't have mercy on drivers so drivers should not show them any atom of love or care. Simple.

radautoworks:
From a rider perspective, the account holder/who ORDERED the ride is your client. If it was children you were sent to drop, are the children your client? If anything goes wrong, the account holder is who Uber holds, also if you rate the trip, they're the only ones you can rate so THEY are your clients. Anything left behind should go to the account holder to settle the rest from there because your CONTRACT is with the ACCOUNT HOLDER.

EDIT: this is only an argument because cash is allowed in Nigeria. Elsewhere where cash is not allowed, account holder gets billed and you have no business with any third party. You can't even deviate from the route account holder set with stops or anything like that. The account holder has to add the stop in the app.
God bless you! Drivers have no business with 3rd party rider in cases like this, its simple. Or have we forgotten there're lot of trips drivers do without even communicating with rider on the phone b4 PU? You accept request, drives to pickup, arrive on the bolt app or send a message on the uber app, rider comes out and off you start your trip. Most times self the rider is already standing waiting for your arrival. So in that case what do you do? If you can trace the trip you then initiate a call on the Bolt App or contact Uber on the app because Uber shot the windows of communications after every trip ends but on the bolt app you can still contact rider every after 3days or thereabout.

I share another experience. I got this request on Uber in Anthony village, Suya Spot, rider chatted me up and picked them up and dropped them off somewhere in Marryland, Mende. Next rider came in and called my attention to a pair of glasses, I collected it and dropped it inside my pigean hole. 3days later I received a message from Uber with the contact of the actual rider's contact to call her and arrange for a drop off of the pair of glasses. I made it clear to tje correspondent that I'll only drop it off when ever I find myself around the area otherwise the I'll charge for delivery. The guy said no problem when I drop it I should revert to them that I've dropped the item.

I dropped the item about a week later or thereabout.

As for the 2nd paragraph, if I where to be the one on that trip I'll ask the rider to seek the consent of the one that requested for ride for any deviation whatsoever. Its what I normally do and I've my reasons. Card trips riders can be very worrisome tricky sometimes because most of them thinks most drinkers can't context a fight.

Let me share another experience on card with diversions and stops.

Got this request on Uber somewhere around Surulere with a 1.7x surge around 8/9pm... Got to PU the guy came out with his lady and informed me it was a card trip and I'm dropping her off somewhere arpund unilag. As we enroute I dont know bae must have felt comfortable so she demanded I shouldn't end the ride when we get to her destination because she just want to pickup a friend and then proceed to isolo. I was like "then you'll have to tell you man to update the address" or we donit offline"

No na, since its a card trip, I dont have cash to pay, she replied.

Ok then tell your man to update the ride or we do it offline...

Now, I'd done that trip without the actual rider updating the address I would have got my hand burnt because the guy in question already told me where to drop off his lady so if the fare had gone beyond the 1k estimate he saw he would have asked for a price review and only the supreme mercy would have been able to save me.

So it's fraudulent to deviate from the original route or do stops off the routes when on card trips especially when it a 3rd party ride.

There was another experience I shared here on Bolt. How many of you can remember? Sangotedo to Egbeda B/S was the original trip. But I f8nally dropped of the girl after Igando. Trips was a card trip, during the partial lockdown that ends 8pm then. I can remember vividly it was on a Friday and actual rider order for the sex worker(lady) but Bolt knew the ETA so they refused to allocate the final destination which is igando to the rider reason for Egbeda. Trip lasted almost 3hrs, finally got to Egbeda 8:05pm and me ive to get home but I can't stop this girl here because everywhere looked so deserted not even a single bus or police at the popular junction. The man that ordered the ride couldnt update the address, She begged me to do offline to the final destination which we settled for 2k or thereabout. While we were negotiating I was driving towards her final destination so I forgot to end trip at Egbeda B/S. Oya trip end na, Bolt App says I've left the original destination I was like what's going here?

To cut it short, trip ended N6.5k, my price review returned after 3days with 8.5k. Abt 8-9days later Bolt blocked my account saying I committed an offense... The story long.

I get Ur point bruv, but do u know ideally and legally ehailing is not for pacel deliveries but passengers. The person u carried at a point in time is ur client not your app account holder cos d app is just a bridge to bring a passenger and a driver together. Lets use a normal and popular scenario where u call a bike man to come carry ur babe go where she go enter bus, the babe is the passenger not you that called the bike man.

Like i said earlier, d Driver over heard something and he felt to let the account owner know which if he didn’t call him nothing still spoil.
I've been following this topic and I'm surprise you of all person can articulate things like this.

I once had an experience which I shared here last year how a military personnel and I had an issue along Oba-Akran, Ikeja. The rider i was with on that particular day was a 3rd party rider and after all the set and done I reported to Uber and Uber call me the next day to get more detail. Now, do you know that uber compensated me on that trip? Even with the 3k rider paid to me? I've deleted my uber app, else i would have shown you the reply uber sent base on the rider's(3rd party) aspect in terms of compensation.

According to what they sent me, they can't compensate the actual rider since it's a 3rd party ride, and also, the amount I collected from the rider they also can't justify the actual amount collected because they could only reachout to the owner of the account, though they called the owner of the account to confirm the accident and to know if every thing was fine.

So the thing is, driver's and riders are always held accountable for anything relating to any trip and not the 3rd party rider.

I don't understand where or how you bring in your okada analogy from, its really absurd, disrespectful and dishuman to how you compare e-hailing and okada in this regard.grin

As for packages, it is required of the driver to apply his wisdom but such a driver should understand that so long h/s has agreed to go on a trip be it a 1st or 3rd party ride, or a package he(driver) will be held accountable should he be find wanting.

So should any item be found on your car? what is expected of you as a driver is return it to the one that ordered the ride or drop it at the app company's office address then the person can come pick it up with the telephone number attached to the account as a means of identification. Otherwise, a sworn affidavit that that item belongs to h/h.

If this trip in question was to be an Uber trip I see no means the driver would have been able to contact the rider after the trip as ended unless he can trace the number that called him as at the time of pickup which is not even the due process and that is if and only if there was a phone conversation. The due process is to contact uber or Bolt stating "rider forgot and item". Then driver will be contact on the next step to take.

As a matter of fact drivers are prohibited from contacting riders after trips have ended. If there's anything? Contact your partner which could either be uber or bolt.
