cute2014: This sounds like family based IV application.I personally don't know much about the requirements but I think most have to be gotten by the petitioner from the US agencies.But if some are needed from the applicant in Nigeria,then the ffg may help;
I.Insurance policies/deeds/income tax returns/social security records/census records/family bible entries:I don't think this is popular in this part of our world.
2.Govt id papers: U can go for the National ID card.
3.Passports: U can get this easily
4.Tax card:I think u can go to internal revenue to get a e-tax card if employed. 5.Records of family records: Pictures can help in this regard and also for residence.
I hope this helps a bit. Tank u so much, ur response was highly professional. I thought as much that most of d requirements are not peculiar to us but the petitioner herself. I've taken note of ur directions. I shall forward it to the concerened person. Hope u've done ur own interview? God bless. |

One thing am certain about is that..."the Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity"(2Tim 2:19). And..."the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death" (Rev 21: . Life does not end here we must knw, and d4 none is best accomplished in things corporeal but heavenly. Owing to that, being an American is not d end of it. Besides, being a selectee n eventually given a visa is an honour one does not give to oneself, if u try it u destroy urself. What a shame then to be publicised b4 d world 4 falsehood sake just for despiration to travel. Too painful! |

diskindgod: It was exactly a week now that I went for my chat. I purposely delayed posting my experience because of the response I was expecting from the embassy.
Based on advice from NL members,we left all our items in the hotel except our docs which I packed in a big nylon bag. At the first security check, wife and my son were allowed and later ordered by the security to the hall while I was at the first point doing security check because of the nylon containing our docs I held. After the thorough check, I stepped outside to go to the main hall but couldn't sight my wife. I asked the security who gave people umbrellas and said she has been ordered in. His colleague apologised for that. As I entered the hall for other security check, I met my wife standing and about to be sent out for being overstayed by the security. I removed belt, got no B411 and we all entered the interview hall. While paying for three, wife was asked to go sit. Docs were well arranged and submitted as the officer said 'Thank you for being organised'. (Thanks to NL, where I got how to arrange docs, for this compliments). While the waiting lasted, I almost went 20times to carry my son from different corners he went playing and disturbing people.
No beeped at window 16(White lady). We went together while son was carried by wifey. Did finger prints and son(1yr 3months) also wanted to place his hands. When I saw he wanted to cry, I just allowed him place hands.
CO: Gd morning Me: replied. CO: are u xyz Me: yes CO: what is ur highest qualification Me: answered. CO: what year (couldn't hear well and begged she say it again 2times as son was pestering with noise abt to cry) CO: Pls madam(my wife) go and sit far off with the child
I was left alone, she continued with me and later called my wife for her own chat while I also went to sit afar. CO: what year and which university Me: answered. CO: where do you work Me: Answered. CO: As? Me: Accountant CO: When, where and at what age did u meet ur wife. Me: Answered. Wifey: Answered. CO: When did you propose to her Me: Answered. Wifey: Answered. CO: what is your child DOB Me: Answered. Wifey: Answered CO: When was the naming Me: Answered. Wifey: Answered. CO: what day of the week was it. Me: Didn't answer and she jumped it. Wifey: Monday. CO: How many people attended. Me: Answered. Wife: Answered. CO: When did you go to deliver Me: 9am. Wifey: 4pm CO: In the night Wifey: Yes CO: Which hospital did your wife deliver Me: mission house, owned by a retired nurse. Wifey: Faith Mission CO: Where were you when she left for hospital Me: Office(DV Plc, we used to work from 8am till 9pm). Wifey: DV plc CO: How did she get there Me: she trekked to a junction from house and took bike. Wifey: By bike. CO: What is the distance Me: Less than 15mins. Wifey: Like 20mins CO: What time did she deliver Me: 11pm. Wifey: 11pm CO: What time did u get there Me: 9pm. Wifey: 8pm CO: How many people were there when she delivered. Me: The retired nurse, her daughter and husband. Wifey: Matron and a nurse. CO: When was she discharged Me: Next day. Wifey: Same Co: Who came to visit her in the hospital Me: mother in law. Wifey: same CO: when did she arrive Me: Next morning. Wifey: Same CO: Who came to visit you the day you delivered Wifey: Nobody CO: Who came to visit your husband Wifey: Nobody CO: Who was with you in the hospital when you delivered. Wifey: my husband. CO: How many nurses are in the hospital Wifey: I don't know CO: is the matron owner of the mission house Wifey: yes
After these two seperate interviews, I was denied visa on the grounds of inability to convince the CO of a bona fide spousal relationship.
Lessons: 1) For people yet to go for interview, pls prepare very very well as visa limit has been reached for the fiscal year hence embassy is looking for any loophole to deny applicants. DV visa no too dey again o.
2) People with babies should leave the babies playing and show them if the CO asks for them. A child will always be a child. They can distract and cause separate interviews if taken along to the CO.
3) Patners should not leave themselves irrespective of pressures from the embassy security.
Thank you to all green house members 2013 and 2014 threads. The bbm NL group is also appreciated. I remember how the monthly prayers & fasting contributed to my spiritual life. You guys are all wonderful. Names too numerous to mention. Mercy, mercy, mercy. Waiting for ur relook on this good VO... |

God owns every glory in my DV case, becos with futile attempts to further my education abroad since 2006 I had to hang in the towel in 2011 an started a 2nd Postgraduate here in 2012.I played this particular lottery to please the demand of my friend who came asking me to go with him to play it.Of course I had been playing lottery since 2007,as I said I called it a quit becos I had suffered several disappointments in that regard. In 2011 precisely, somebody I know who calls himself an agent had my international passport with him over one year just for Qatar visa he told me he would get for me in a month.I pleaded and pleaded to have my passport back all to no avail. He was full of stories not until God intervened dt I had it miraculously with me.Just after that, out of voraciousness the passport missed flight again. Another person had the passport ceased for a long time becos the person who nearly got Georgia student visa for me was in debt with him and he confiscated some items in his possession including my passport.I got my passport from him by his grace when I sent my form to KCC.Sincerely, I was uninterested in the whole stuff when I found out that my friend who played this lottery was not selected.I did not bother to check mine.My conclusion was that since we played it together automatically I lost too. But something told me to check it after a month plus he had checked his, and that I did on the 26th of Sept 2013 behold I was selected, hence the preparations that saw fruition to this visa approval proper.I must confess my victory is not a personal effort. First, it is God. Second, is you.If I should forget the assistance of this house I am an ingrate.I would not be one I pray.May I appreciate Sam Olaniyi who introduced me into this noble house. t.I simply had to learn the ABC of what ought to be done or not all the time from everybody's posts.I can't mention names 4 dy are numerous. Thus the interview: I got to the embassy before 5am for I lodged at VI opposite High Court. We stood for a long time even under the rain. After normal security checks and documentation my number beeped at window 16 where a white lady interviews Co:Good morning Me: good morning Co; Finger print pls Me: I did (Fast though for I had observed how it goes) Co: sign in the yellow marking Me; did Co:What do u do 4 a living? me; I just completed my M.A studies at University of Lagos CO which subject? me; Philosohy Co;u served? me; i hv my exemption Co; what do you plan to do with Philosophy? me; I want to do community service ( I filled this in my form) Co; what courses did u take in Phil? Me; Ethics,Epistemology Metaphysics (trying to mention others) co; What is Metaphysics Me; was explaining Co; I approve ur visa( brought white paper circled collection center in 7 days time) me; thanks and collected back my documents. Observation; Alaways secure ur doc because there is rain. The cashier would not be happy when ur money is wet, protect it form rain. Be confident if u are not fake, the visa is urs. Single people have ur eyes on ur education or occupation u filled in the form. The married people should be keen with their family relationship, if u have a child try to know when s/he was born including the time. |

After some delays,we finally made our way to d interview hall, pay d visa fee, submission of docz.......... my daughter was eating her biscuit when our number finally buzzd... Co; *to my daughter - hey, u want to give me some (biscuits) ? Me..; was praying inside for her to say yes or good afternoon but my daughter was jus staring at him and finally said- your window is not open...your window is not open...lol. .... Co; are u A.B.C. Co;How old is ur daughter? Wifey; *not want to be left out . Bla... Co; was she born through caesarian ? Me; *a little surprised. Bla... Co; u r so so age ? Me; yes. Co; you look older than ur age, just like myself. #we both smiled. Co; where did u play d lottery Me;@ a cafe next street to ours Co;how much did they collect? Me;btw N700-N1,000 we paid for d passport photo and airtime. Co; have u played Visa lottery before? Me; yes but I don't always bother to check d result. **off interview(As a matter of fact,it was a man dat assisted us to play in his cafe that was looking up and down for me to tell me I won . He's not an agent o bcoz he didn't collect extra kobo from me)* Co; was nodding...typed...circled. Okay, pick ur visa at......greencard........... Me;grabbed wifey nd kissed her on d forehead Its all GOD! I only put in my effort and HE crowned it all. *Special thanks to ALL Nairalanders and a special shout out to the brain behind Nairaland *Respect! GOD Bless America for the opportunity and GOD Bless Nigeria and help us attain our full potential-Amen.
#Observations and Advice- I discovered we carried d biggest bag among all, fully loaded with supporting documents ofcourse but after submitting d necessary docz, nothing was requested from us again. Not even our Photo album *Note -this doesn't mean people shouldn't go with necessary supporting docz, cases differ...The most important thing is to (1) Acknowledge GOD. None of us selected him/herself,Na GOD do am. (2)Prepare adequately *there is nothing like 'over-preparation'. (3) be cordial with pple in d interview hall and compose urself very well *couples should chat a lot while waiting for their turn nd try to crack jokes to ease tension. (4)Look around briefly and learn quickly.*no need to dey change seat. (5) if one of the couple is asked to go and sit while they interview d other d one being interviewed dnt need to repeat d question or shout so the other can hear. (6)The Co will only ask u what they expect u to know so jus be calm and answer as if u r chatting with a friend. No be JAMB. Lol
Met with @Lakesyd family inside d interview hall.I feel sorry for their denial but GOD knows best and he certainly know what is best for them. Wishing @Lakesyd family all the best.
Success to all looking forward to their chat with d CO by GOD's grace,Amen. GOD that counted myself and family among the permanent winners will do it for you all,Amen! Blesss!!! Congrats. A bigining of greater blessings. To God be the glory. |

tosinjoe: This is coming better late than never, it is more of my testimony of God's work than a visa interview experience.
Before my interview on July 31st, so many hurdles came our way, my wife and I had lots of financial scores to settle, at a time we almost gave up, our wedding pictures got corrupted on the flash drive, I only had the option of printing pictures from my phone and bringing the enlarged wedding frame in our sitting room.
To cut the long story short, we sold our phones and was able to do our medicals less than a week to our interview, in fact the days included Saturday, Sunday and the public holidays. Finally on July 30th I set out for Lagos from Akure around 5.30am to do my police report (my wife had done hers) and pick up our medicals result I borrowed money for transport, there was no money for either my police report nor our visa fees But I went to Lagos in faith, As I got to Ojota, I got a call conversation ensued and in less than 5min I got an alert. Brothers and sisters before the end of that day I received about four credit alerts, I finished everything and spoke to a friend at Obalende about coming with my wife to his plce for the night, my wife was still at Akure to collect her NPC attestation, for some reasons she was delayed in Akure till about 6PM(our interview is for 7am the next day) at a time she said she couldnt risk the journey again, but with God she got to Akure round 12:30am on the 31st,I had to go wait for her at Ojota. I called my friend at Obalende and he said it was too late and dangerous, despite being cash stripped we had to take a drop and lodge at obalende. checked in to the hotel around 1am, we asked the cab driver to come pick us by 4am. As at this time I had just the exact amount for both our visa fees in my account and a 1000naira in hand, after pressing our clothes and arranging our documents, another alert came in, this time it was a debit alert, making it impossible to withdraw d complete visa fees.
Not to bore u too much, we set out around 4:30am, we couldnt pay the cab driver, after all protocols our number came up on windows 16, all along I was praying seriously NOT to be interviewed there not knowing that was where God had set our table. in less than 5min the interview was concluded CO: greeted, asked what i do for a living, where I met my wife, when we got married, why we dnt have kids asked about two pictures ME: answered accordingly She called my wife and asked about three questions and then approved our visa People where kind of surprised, though I wasnt. A lot of people discouraged us but with faith and persistence we conquered. God is faithful and surprising.Only His finger has done this.Enjoy His mercies. I key into ur testimony.Congrats. |
