It is simple.

1. Fuel costs below N1000 here

2. Fuel costs above N1000 over there. Even in NIger, with the recent reduction, fuel costs N1400 per liter

3. Naturally, smuggling would result. And let's be honest, it is not only big people doing it, even the small ordinary Nigerian would carry a 50 liter jerrycan of fuel across the border, and sell it, and come back with a big enough profit to bribe customs, and still have enough left over.

4. We don't have fuel, because government is struggling to pay the subsidy on fuel. Right now we owe fuel exporters lots of money, we are struggling to even pay the NNPC shortfall, and NNPC is now raiding the dividends to pay off its own shortfall.

5. And yet, Nigerians keep asking for cheap fuel

It is our desire to have N40 fuel that is causing this, people. And it is high time we woke up and realized fuel cannot be cheap, and totally removed subsidy.

Yet, anyone suggesting this now is apparently agbado, even if they have never voted for tinubu or never liked the man (I have not liked tinubu since 2005, when Gani first raised the questions about his certificate then)....

But it is obvious subsidy, even at tinubu level is not sustainable.

The only way to stop smuggling is to TOTALLY REMOVE SUBSIDES. Yes, fuel would cost N1500 per liter, and yes, Agbado people brought hardship to NIgeria, and yes NIgeria needs to divide, and bla bla bla

But you cannot sell at a loss and not expect issues.

And if you think NIgeria is the only country with this issue....

1. LIbya has a severe smuggling problem, to the point that smuggliers are being bombed by the LIbyan air force

2. Saudi has a smuggling problem with Yemen, which they are finding hard to fight

3. Iran has issues on the border with Pakistan. Iranian fuel is being smuggled into Pakistan well well. Subaisy

4. Venezuela has a massive smuggling problem. Same thing happening here. They lost 18 bn dollars to smuggling one year.

Dangote is wise....he made this deal with people he knows won't betray him. Was he not supposed to build it in SS or SE if he wanted to rely on their crude oil? Dangote knows how dem mad in those areas so he isn't relying on their crude. Why are they pained?

If you all think you will get a subsidy from Dangote the way you get from NNPC, you are all fo..ools.

They are waiting to hear that Dangote Refinery is closed for not having crude oil. Lol. I remember how farmers messed him up by not supplying him with fresh tomatoes for his tomato paste plant after he funded their growing systems. Dangote isn't NNPC.

Dangote is in Lagos because he is into the exportation of fuel. If he likes he will sell in dollars. Na your wahala. If you sell crude to him in naira, sure, he can give you back in naira. But thinking you will force him to give you fuel in naira while he buys in dollars for crude oil is a dream that won't come true.

So, you think he is not wise. Lol. Na you be the f.oool all along. E dey pain dem say Dangote no dey at their mercy. They had visualized how they would frustrate his refinery by not supplying him with crude oil. They had been waiting to read news like....how they forced him to give them contracts to build pipelines from their region to Lagos...and they would start blowing up the pipes. Tompolo and Asari Dokubo boys are disappointed .

Baba don set up his refinery where your madness in the oil areas won't reach his refinery. ...and he has shown you that he doesn't care about your madness. Baba is into supplying African nations with fuel....and he isn't into your useless destruction and barbarism. Kudos to Dangote for looking ahead on the right way to do this business. Mehn! See how disappointed they are. They can't blow up pipes to Dangote Refinery....they are pained.
