AMBROSE ALLI UNIVERSITY: AN OPEN LETTER TO EDO STATE GOVERNOR MR GODWIN OBASEKI. Dear Sir, I am writing you this letter not only as an alumnus of that prestigious alma mater but as a concern Edo indigene , your fellow party man, a lover of Education and some one who wants the mistakes and shortcomings of the past administration to be corrected by your Government, and I am writing you with all sense of humility and hoping this letter will meet you in good faith. This letter is also sequel to the stakeholders 3 days strategic meeting held in Benin last week to set agenda for the new administration. Mr Governor sir, Let me quickly remind you that Ambrose Alli University is the first premier government owned university in Edo State and one of the greatest university in Nigeria today that has produced great Nigerians and also the pride of Edo people which was named after a Governor who many still remember for his strong commitment to the educational sector. Mr Governor sir, as a man who has read very well both in Nigeria and outside Nigeria I do not need to tell you the importance of quality education to the socio-politucal and economic development of any country. That is why somebody said years ago " He that opens a school closes the road to the prison" . Unfortunately, what we have today in AAU is a magnificent ancient and moribund university that does not fit into the NUC standard talkless of the current global standard of Education and this is as a result of the total neglect of that school by past State Government. Mr Governor sir, one would have expected that Ambrose Alli University being the first and major State owned university that is one of the greatest asset and pride of Edo State and has suffered so much underdevelopment , marginalization and the students haven suffered so much injustice would have been your first point of call, but sadly you have not visited. You deemed it fit to visit the newly established Edo State University, Iyamho, you have visited Tayo Akpata institute of Education and promise to give the school a new lift, you have also visited the private owned Igbinedion to attend their convocation ceremony, you have also visited Edo State school of nursing etc, but unfortunately you have not visited AAU that has produced great men in Nigeria and Edo State . That school Sir needs attention as we are tired of every day protest by students. Sir, if this Government develops all other schools in Edo State and didn't develop AAU or reform the school in all sector , the government has actually done nothing as it regards education in Edo State. Mr Governor sir, it will interest you to know that the hostels in that schools are worse than the houses in my village and the class rooms where student receive lectures are worse than the town hall meeting in my village. The lecture halls are like matches box that can't even contain students during lecture period and majority are made to stand outside during lecture hours. Apart from some intervention from TETFUND ,CBN and other private bodies and individuals the State Government has actually not helped that school and it seems the past administration deliberately abandoned that school for reasons best known to them. Consequently, despite all the nearly every year increment of the tuition fees that has caused protest and closure of that school, there is still no good hostels or structure to show for it. The best and only standard hostel today in that school was built by the former Governor, Chief Lucky Igbinedion and the only functional and large lecture hall(NLT) today was also built by him and some years back God also used Pastor Oyakhilomen to build another lecture hall. Chief Lucky Igbinedion was provoked when he visited and promise he will built the hostels and lecture hall within 100 days, the promise he actually fulfilled. We know that your predecessor focused more primary and secondary schools that's why his effect was not felt in that school and even the administrative block Lucky Igbinedion started which he promised to complete is still not completed. The school has no good library, ICT center. The part time and pre degree session located in Emaudo is like the houses the Colonial masters lived in 1900. The college of Medicine, engineering and other science courses need modern equipments as we are tired of frequent disccreditation by NUC and other regulatory bodies. This is totally unacceptable in this contemporary age. We are very optimistic that your visitation to that school to see thingschool.yourself will change the pathetic story of that school and change the status quo. And we will all rejoice and hail thee. Mr Governor sir, One area you also need to look at in that school is the level of corruption, victimization of students, sexual abuse by lecturer s and other forms of unholy practices in that school. When you see students protesting, sometimes it is not the increment of tuition fee or whatsoever it is the expression of anger, pains and frustration by the helpless students. That is a school where lecturers will come to class and tell you if you think you can pass with just reading you are wasting your time. The lecturers see themselves as untouchable and indomitable. The students are helpless and cannot even report to anybody as that will worsen their woes. You see students that do not even attend classes or reads their books but only appear during exams and they usually have the best results. AAU needs exactly what happened recently in Auchi Polytechnic where many lecturers who embarked on those unholy acts were given various sanction and today there is sanity in the school and that has served as deterrent to others who do same. The students and alumni of AAU will not only celebrate such action just like the way Auchi Polytechnic students did but will forever see you as their hero. For the avoidance of doubt sir, that school has produced great and notable Nigerians who are doing very well in their various area of endeavours. Are you aware sir, Dr. Chris Oyakhilome attended that school? Are you aware Tony Elumelu the chairman of UBA and transcorp attended that school? Sir are you aware Samuel Oboh who is a Canadian architecture and the first African to be elected President of the Alberta chapter of the royal Architecture institute in 2007, the legal icon Chief Festus Keyamo etc, attended that school Furthermore, it will interest you to know that many of the celebrities in Nigeria today attended that school. Don Jazzy,Alibaba, Omawunmi etc. Products of that school are doing very well in their chosen endeavours either as managers of men, materials, captains of Indus try, seasoned technocrats and worthy ambassadors.. Students of that school have won various local and international laurel. The law students have set unassailable records in the Nigeria law school, the medical students came best in the last medical students competition and many people in your government today or who will be in your government are product of that school, hence the need for it to be developed and totally overhauled. Ambrose Alli University is not an Esan university but Edo State University that has helped to build many of us both from Benin, Afemai and Esan and thus we should not allow politics to deprive that school from the attention and priority it needs as the greatest State owned higher educational institution we have in Edo State today. I am glad you have promised that your Government will not embark on frivolities and that has given hope to many of us that you are going to do things differently because marginalising that school because it is in Esan land which didn't give you enough support is frivolity at it peak. Am happy you are not the vindictive type but an intelligent, focused and well exposed individual. God bless you sir and I wish you more wisdom, strength and enablement to pioneer the affairs of our dear Edo State and take it to a greater height. Yours Faithfully, Felix Osemwengie Isere, Esq, Cnarb. 08058493322 A proud Alumnus of AAU. |
MR GODWIN OBASEKI, NOW THAT YOU HAVE BEEN SWORN IN AS EDO STATE GOVERNOR( part 1) By Felix Osemwengie Isere, Esq, Cnarb. Mr Governor sir, this is almost like an open letter to you, believing that you will see it or someone close to you will also see it or draw your attention to it. Mr Governor sir, firstly, let me congratulate you in your successful swearing in as the Governor of Edo State. Whether you are liked or not is not the matter now, whether anybody never believed in you is not the matter now, whether people never supported you is not the matter now, whether anybody belong to any religion, tribe, political party or class is not the matter now, what is the matter now is that you are now the Governor of Edo State and you have an inalienable duty to perform because that is best way to reward those who worked for you and also disappoint those who never supported or believed in you. Mr Governor sir , there are many things that will determine whether you will succeed or not, but for now I think the team you will be setting up either as personal aides, cabinet members and heads of department, agency etc, is very important no matter your vision . When you miss it here, failure is inevitable because as the Latin Marxim will say, Memo Dat Quod Non Habet (you can't give what you don't have) . let me quickly say, that this humble admonition is not aimed at telling you who to appoint and the parameter for such appointment, as that is solely your discretion in consultation with the party in some circumstances. But what am more Concern as a young man obsessed with good governance and quality leadership is that you form a good team that can can pioneer the affairs of our State because you have no excuse to fail. I was so delighted in your acceptance speech yesterday when you promise to set your team Shortly and keep the ground running because the work has started. That was really a powerful statement and I hope you match words with action, because you don't have the whole years to be Governor. The work must surely start now because delay defeats equity. Mr Governor sir, Please kindly match words with action by setting up your team immediately, you must ensure that you set up a team of intellectuals around you, people who are more concern about what they will deliver and not what they will get, people with modern ideal and progressive minds. Let your team be made up of young people and fresh blood, People who are ready to write their names in the sands of time, those who wants to make a name for themselves knowing very well they still have a great future ahead. Those who have been in one office or the other before and have not deliver should not have anything to do in your government. Government house is not an inheritance of anybody and I think those who have been there before and whose impact was not felt should kindly leave with the comrade Governor, do not make the mistake President Buhari made which is affecting the Government today , do not build your government around cabal, who may later hijack the government, let people have access to you and be ready to listen. Do not also make any mistake of going to give strategic appointments to people who do not understand the manifestos of APC or those who have never been in Edo State talkless they will know the problem of the States or the people. Do not appoint strangers who do not reside in our State because they are ready to port out anytime if the government fails. Let your government not be government that will reward mediocre and agberos more the educated, responsible and decent Edo people ,however, everybody is relevant and deserves reward especially those who laboured with you during the election, but political reward system in my own school of thought should not always be about money or appointment but about benefiting the dividends of democracy . Do not make the mistake of appointing people who have penchant for corruption . Inject young, fresh, vibrant , enlightened and intelligent people into your government. Look for those with integrity, good character and selflessness. Mr Governor sir, In conclusion , I will want to remind you that you must let your appointment be devoid of every form of biases or discrimination. You must have regards for the three Senatorial district and local government. Religion, gender, and other stereotyped practices should be be disallowed. Let me also sharply remind you that you are now the Governor of Edo State and not the Governor of your party members, your family, friends or some sets of people. People like us who love and are more loyal to our state will criticise and chastise you if you make any appointments which will not be for the interest of the State or even our party, but will also celebrate you if the right people are also appointed because that is the first basis of knowing any government that will deliver. We cannot afford to have round pegs in square holes or charlatans leading us. God forbid! Edo State is blessed with people with brains, skills, ideals, ingenuity, resilience , character and are hardworking , hence you don't need to go outside to import people to work with you. We know ourselves, we know those who can deliver and we also know those who supposed to have nothing to do in Government house because they have failed before or they have nothing to offer. Personally, I wish you best of luck and my prayer is that may you succeed because Edo people deserve the best at this critical time. Best Regards. |
Aisha VS Buhari : EXAMINING AISHA'S UNCOMMON CANDOUR AND BRAVERY! The Buhari's administration since inception has been metaphorically described by many observers as tortoise Government because the ancient tortoise is known for different stories, from one story to the other and also a symbolism of slowness. Let me quickly enter a caveat and disabuse the minds of two sets of persons, first, those fellow APC members who would be thinking I have joined the wailing wailers and the wailing wailers who will be saying in their mind did we not tell you? I supported Buhari, voted for him and I still believe it is not time to start crucifying him because I still believe in him and the fact that things will be better. This is basically the First time in the history of Nigeria we are seeing a first lady, oops! permit me I wanted to say wife of the president standing up publicly to criticise her own husband 'S style of running the government and revealing some germane truths which many of us who worked tirelessly have been so concern about. To Me, this is a real change from the conventional way and a sign of great things for our nation and womanhood. Let me try my best not sound so erratic or critical in analysing the bitter truth revealed by Aisha, for those who are quick to say she does not know what she is saying or her duty is just in the kitchen, sitting room and other room, the closest and the most influential person to any married man is the wife, you will also agree with me that the greatest fan to a man who always wants him to succeed in anything he does and always there to support him is the wife. There is a popular saying that behind every successful man there is a woman and in reverse, behind every failed man there is also a woman, hence there is the need for Mrs Buhari to be concern and speak out when the husband refuses to listen. I may not be married yet, but there are basic things I ought to know about marriage. I was inundated with great sobriety, soliloquyism and sardonicism when i listened to the way the wife of the president publicly expressed her frustration, disenchantment and dissatisfaction at the husbands style of appointments and the fact that some cabal have hijack the government. This was the woman who has been by the president since all his struggle to enter Aso rock, this is a woman who has shown loyalty, simplicity and humility in all her doings and has never shown to be the dissident, , megalomaniac, bossy and domineering type of woman and this is the woman who supposed to be the main adviser to Mr president through her bed room power. Many have also criticised her that she ought to have talked to her husband in the room rather than coming public, is it not clear that she has talked and talked to Mr president but the ever stubborn and dogmatic husband would not listen, hence she has to clear her name and eschew future vicarious liability of failure by coming out publicly because the failure of the president is her failure as a wife and ' first lady . ............ Coming to her statement proper, she was 100% correct of her postulations, 50% of people who are holding appointment in this Government today are those who never worked for Buhari or even believed in the manifesto of APC while about 30% of the offices today are still been occupied by members of the PDP and you think there will be change from the old Way? Absolutely NO. The names of people that were ringing bell before and during the elections and with relevant qualification are not the names we hear during appointments. Those who have been working with Buhari since 2003 and even in the election have been marginalised and how do we think there can be real change when those who never believed in manifesto of APC or Mr president's change ideology are now the one taken decision in the government? This is the first time in the history of Nigeria I am hearing people buying appointments. One of the most disheartening story was that of Bayelsa State where the current Minister of State for Agriculture Senator Heineken Lokpobiri who was never in APC, he contested for Senate under PDP primary lost and decamped to the APC after the presidential election , this was the man who fought those who pioneered the establishment of APC State , called the party Islamic party and worked against the party but today he was rewarded with the ministerial position, and more painful is that he has been using his office to fight and oppress the State party leadership who laboured day and night to establish the party in the State. Are you aware that Senator Ndoma Egba who spent eight years under PDP decamped to APC few days to the Governorship election but today he has been appointed to hold the highest position in NDDC? what about Senator Ita Enang who is now the Special adviser to the president on National Assemble matters? what about Senator Ifeanji Ararume from Imo State who was recently made a member representing South East in the NCC board? infact, I was very pained about that one, one of his close boy was my colleague at the Nigeria law school, during the presidential campaign he was one of the greatest critic of Buhari, we argued and almost fought many times because of Buhari and he never believed in APC, but I was shocked recently when I saw him in Abuja driving an NCC official car where he told me that he just got an appointment through his boss in NCC. Let us come to Edo State where Buhari got about 40% percent votes, we have really not gotten any main appointment, a man like Comrade Godwin Erhahon who has been with Buhari through out his political career, led his campaign in 2003, 2007 and was later made the Edo State Buhari's CPC party chairman, today he has gotten nothing and has been totally sidelined. I can't even go to the North or mentioned names of strangers Buhari have rewarded more than those that worked For him . The different boards have not still be constituted till today , maybe he is waiting till when he leaves office before he does that. We are complaining of hunger in the land when even party leaders are not empowered or given appointments so that they can still help and empower people around them or their supporters . The style and manner PMB is really carrying out his appointments is unfair and pathetic. On the issue of cabal hijacking his government, i have also said it umpteenth times that Buhari is not in charge of his government, so many people are using his name to do some trash . I was told for people who are not in the cabal to see the president it is a problem, and I am sure even the wife of the president is a victim of this. It is clear there is a government within the government of Buhari and these are the people who collect money from none party members and undeserving persons to recommend them to get appointments. They have turned themselves to be big brothers empire and the interest of the government or the people is not their concern. Lastly, the wife of the president also gave a stern warning that she may not support her husband if he continues like this, to me this was premature. PMB has not said he is contesting again and I know he won't do that matter his performance and the pressure the same cabal will mount on him. There is no need to talk much on this because I know even if he decides to contest he won't even win the party's primary. I must salute the wife of the president for making history by coming out openly to castigate his own husband, she has shown uncommon bravery and true patriotism. We live in a country full of Sycophants and hypocrites , a country where people support and defend all evil and impunity in the name of loyalty and partisanship and a country where truth is scarce and those who dare say it are branded traitors and rebels. I always respect those who are bold enough to stand up for the truth and blow the whistle . Mrs Buhari should not be perturbed by the statement of her husband whether joke or not, he goofed. According to Budha " Blessed is he that over cometh his ego and accept the truth... Even the holy Bible tells us that we shall know the truth and it shall set us free. #EDO2016… As a lawyer and a Human and Political Rights activist who believes in Democracy, due process, Constitutionalism and Change, I wrote a petition to office of the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Mohammadu Buhari which was jointly signed by twenty two other lawyers across different political lines and it is titled: EDO STATE GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION: MR PRESIDENT, SAVE OUR SOUL ( SOS) . The petition will be officially submitted on Thursday by the grace of God. In this petition i critically x-rayed the political activities in the state, the postponement of the election and made various demands. The demands inter alia includes: 1. That Mr president should use his exalted office to kindly ‘appeal and ‘advise’ the Independent National Electoral Commission ( INEC) to shift the rescheduled election from Wednesday the 28th of September, 2016 which is a working day to a Saturday to enable thousands of eligible voters who lives outside the State to participate or alternatively, if the election is to hold on a Wednesday Mr president should kindly declare a three day National Holiday to enable eligible voters travel home on Tuesday and return back after the election on Thursday as failure to do so will amount to denial of thousands of Edo people their Rights to vote which he sworn an oath to protect and any outcome of such exercise will be a mere façade, waste of tax payers’ money and its validity will be contestable. 2. That Mr president should take extreme measure to ensure that the lives of the good and peaceful people living in Edo State are well protected in view of the alleged threat by the Niger Delra avengers and Boko haram to unleash terror on the people during the election and should never allow the incidents that happened in Rivers and Bayelsa State to happen in Edo State as the lives of our beloved Edo people are very valuable and precious to us. 3. That Mr president should give a stern warning and ensure that the various security agencies ( military, Police, DSS and NSCDC) do their jobs with utmost professionalism, competence , neutrality in the discharge of their Constitutional duties and should not allow themselves to be used by politicians either in APC, PDP, LABOUR or APGA ,and any act of violation or abuse of Human Rights before, during and after the election will never be allowed and will be totally rejected and we will not fail to drag the Government before the International Court of Justice (ICJ) and other Local and International agencies. 4. That the election should not just be free and fair, but must be seen to be free and fair and the president should not be a part of any attempt to rig the election or used by anyone either in APC or PDP to rig the election as the will of the people must be respected. 5. That the president should do everything possible to safety, Equity, Justice, Rule of Law, the Electoral Act and the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Furthermore, we also reminded Mr president that this election must be in line with the change mantra of Mr president which is currently sweeping round the country and also the ‘One Man One Vote’ Crusade which our amiable, dogged, action and progressive Comrade Adams Alliu Oshiomhole who has campaigned and mobilized vigorously for his party because he believes sovereignty belongs to the people under Section 14 of the 1999 Constitution has also been preaching. #NB: The lawyers who signed this petition with me are from both APC, PDP and are Edo Indigenes with full locus standi and we decided to drop our interest and champion a common front as the State and the people viz a viz upholding democratic tenets are more important to us than our various interest . For the avoidance of doubt, it is not a politically motivated struggle as it is in line with our Professional Responsibilities and sheer patriotic flavor. Two senior advocates of Nigeria (SAN) from Edo State have also promised to sign and affix their stamp and seal on the petition as a show of solidarity. Consequently, We have also decided to copy many agencies and organization and a copy of this petition will also be sent to them. They include. A. The United Nation B. AU and Ecowas Election Monitoring Groups via their liaison offices in Nigeria C. Amnesty International D. National Human Rights Commission E. Nigeria Bar Association( NBA) F. Independent National Electoral Organization. G. Human Rights activist H. Civil Society Organizations’ in Nigeria I. Independent Election Observers. J. The press.

#EDO2016: My Take On The Governorship debate. In fairness, I will want to give my personal assessment of the performance of all the candidates from a very objective point of view. GODWIN OBASEKI He displayed high leveled intelligence and someone with good academic and global exposure, he has good command of English and ascent but his weak point was the fact he was not confident of himself and he has stage fright, however I will not blame him much because he is an introvert, a shy personality and someone who is not really exposed to public speaking and I believe haven done this for the first time he will do better in the other debates. OSAGIE-IZE-IYAMU He also displayed intelligence and someone who has great debt on issues, his selling point was his self confidence and boldness and I believe this is attributed to the fact that as a pastor he talks in the pulpit everyday, as a core politician he is always addressing people and as a lawyer he always know how to have his way out of every argument, but the only problem I have with him is that he was too serious and unfriendly to other contenders and next time he should work on this area. OTHERS The labour and APGA candidates are jokers and pretenders and people who I should not waste my time talking about , but my advise for Onaiwu is that he should go to Anambra State and contest for the next Governorship election since the purported APGA model is working there and for the Labour party candidate I will advise him to go and read more accounting books because he could not even articulate basic financial and economic issues which ought to be his shining points..... THE ORGANISERS channels TV also did their best but they lack good audience control, poor composition of the panellist as it regards gender sensitivity and questioneering ,and there was inequitable distribution of questions which almost arose suspicion a the beginning. In conclusion, though election are not won by debates neither does it guarantee performance when elected, but it is a fulcrum aspect of winning votes and all the debaters did their best and I wish them best of Luck. PRESS RELEASE! #WorldYouthDay YOUTHS STOP THE FIGHT, INSULTS, AND ATTACKS AND MOCKERY BECAUSE OF POLITICIANS AND LET US UNITE TO TAKE OVER OUR DESTINY! Today is the world youths day and it is a day for all of us to reflect on ourselves because according to socrate " An unexamined life is not worth living" I decided to write this to all Nigeria youths especially Edo Youth due to the passion i have for them and also in view of the forth coming election in the State. There are so many things that worry many me about the present day Youths, but the one that gives me the greatest headache is the way we have so much reduced and destroying ourselves in the name of political partisanship or because of one politician. Sometimes i weep when i see the way some of us insult and attacked ourselves because of politicians who are only concern about themselves, albeit some actually have our interest at heart. These politicians we are killing ourselves for will sit down together in one table tomorrow, drink and may not even know if we exist again, and we will continue to live in enmity and destroyed friendships. Many of us have destroyed our relationships, create unnecessary enmity through antagonism, name calling, attacks, and vendetta. Fighting because of politicians does not worth it and very foolish. I have done it before and i have vow never to do it again. Politics is the game and interest is the formula. Many of us have betrayed the trust placed on us by our friends by revealing it to other people or even coming to social media to express all you guys discussed privately. Some have even had cause to mock and laugh at those who are not yet privilege like them and call them hungry people but they fail to realize that the godly among the rich are to be identified by their charity and humility, the ungodly by how they mock the poor and cannot expect to rise power as the choice of the majority who are poor. The persons you are fighting with today or creating enmity with may be the one you will need to get to where you want to be tomorrow. Don’t hurt people with your words and learn to forgive. Which should not be guided with our ego and emotion but the spirit of humility and logical reasoning Politics is a dirty game, but the youths who are the future of tomorrow are supposed to ensure there is a paradigm shift by building good political value and ethos. Whether you are PDP or APC should never be the issue but what should be the issue is the love that is supposed to mind us together as a youths and the future ahead of us. We must unite to wrestle power from those who ought to have left the stage for us to grow. We cannot continue to serve as ‘boy boy ’ to politicians but we must learn to grow . We cannot get there if we don’t unite otherwise the olds will continue to govern us till Jesus come. If it is possible for us to even kill the olds who who is currently destroying our future, please let us do and we will beg God for forgiveness. We cannot take over the mantle of leadership if we don’t stop all these our unhealthy shenanigans and image killing among ourselves in the name of politics. We must build our integrity, honesty and capacity. Politicians will continue to take us for granted and unserious if we continue to fight ourselves. There is strength in unity and victory in collectivism. Consequently, we should never allow politicians to use us for thuggery, election rigging and violence. In fact the novel dimension of thuggery is the SOCIAL MEDIA THUGGERY where youths dedicate all their energy to personality attack, insults and live so cantankerous instead of issues. The truth is that if you are arrested the politicians you were fighting for will not even visit you in the prison and if you die, they will only give your parents some money to bury you. Those who lost their lives during the Rivers and Baylesa election are no longer there to enjoy the victory today and their family have even been forgotten. Be wise and use your brain because you don’t need to kill yourself or make noise for any candidate before you can get appointment or recognition, all you just need is God who favours all or one leader to speak for you and recommend you. Don’t even be surprised that those who never worked for the candidate will be the ones to get appointment tomorrow, while you who killed yourself and create enmity because of the candidate will be forgotten because you have no leader to speak for you. I hope all of you will reflect on this my humble advice, reflect on it and retrace your steps. Happy World youth day and May God bless you. 28th July, 2016 EDO2016 AN OPEN LETTER TO EDO STATE GOVERNOR COMRADE ADAMS ALLIU OSHIOMHOLE. Attention: Mr Godwin Obaseki and Barr. Osarodion Ogie. Comrade Governor sir, I write you this letter with all sense of humility and responsibility believing it will get to you. The main issue I intend to raise in this letter is an issue I ought to have raised in private with you because they concern our great party APC and the September 10th Governorship election. I have written severally to you to draw your kind attention to impending threat to the chances of our party but I have not gotten any response neither has the issue addressed. Also, i have also made several attempts to meet with you one on one and discuss these things but my efforts have proven abortive, hence the need for this letter hoping that you still have genuine friends and aides around who will draw your attention to it. Comrade Governor sir, let me quickly remind you that I have been a consistent and committed supporter of ACN cum APC, in 2007 I supported you with all my hearts from the election to the court and in 2011 I also did all my best to mobilize for you and if you can still remember as the then president of Benin Youths Consultaive Forum I led my executives and members to endorse you few days to the election and I knew you were very elated and appreciative that day. Though I have not gotten any personal reward or empowerment from you even though many persons who were in the other side fighting us then have been rewarded and some of them are even in the Government house now throwing pebbles at us, but have been so encouraged and satisfied with the fact that you have been able to affect majority of Edo people because true politicking is not always for the main purpose of satisfying individual interest but the interest of the people. We know you and our party have not meant all the needs of Edo people but I am very optimistic that in the nearest future we will be able to do more. Comrade Governor sir, In as much as I have so many grievances against you before the way you handled the APC primary and treated the deputy Governor but I have forgiven you and endorsed support as the candidate of the party Mr. Godwin Obaseki because I believe no man is perfect and the need to support our party to ensure victory. However, I must confess to you in sobriety that the way things are going now and if we don’t retrace our step immediately we are just going to fall cheaply for the opposition because they are already exploiting our weak points and political complacency. After the primary one would have expected that the Obaseki team and that of other aspirants will be brought to work together and integrated all, but from all I am seeing it is still all about Obaseki and nobody is being carried along. The people who are still aggrieved are more than those who have been reconciled, the people who have decided to be sitting down to look are still more than those who have started working…To me there is no reconciliation with other aspirants if their supporters and foot soldiers are not carried along and integrated into the campaign. Apart from that i am a voter and am on ground but my major area where my effect is being felt is the social media and I can tell you authoritatively that the APC social media is getting weakened every day because of today lack of, cohesion, integration and leadership to give direction and define a common front for effective social media campaigning. While the PDP social media team are meeting every day and organizing different symposium to suggest the way forward but the APC social media team is nowhere to be found, while the PDP social media team is celebrating getting one more vote for their party we in APC are celebrating one lost supporter for our party because of our bad attitude, inability to recognize everybody is relevant and basically lack of dynamic, proactive, intelligent .creative and vibrant social media leadership. It is just a case of everyman every man to himself, it is just all about uploading pictures and copying and paste without having a full grasp of What is happening . And when you decide to talk you are accused of looking for money and to me this is ridiculous. If election is lost on the social media, it is also lost on ground because the place of social media is indispensable. One would have expected that after the primary the Obaseki team and the team of other aspirants who lost would have met, familiarize, acquaint , harmonized and roll in one ball, but as I talk to you now I do not even know who is the head of our social media campaign or other members in the team. So many persons are leaving every day to support PDP and many have decided to remain neutral because they have realized the campaign is being run like a secret cult and none of them is being carried along. I have interacted with many of these aggrieved persons it is still the same complain, few days ago we lost one of our vibrant supporter Abraham to PDP because of our nonchalance and just this morning I woke up to realize that one of the strong Odubu loyalist Jane who has started working for Obaseki has openly declared that she wants to remain neutral because of the same anger of unseriousness and not been carried along by Obaseki team . Some of these people who were campaigning for other aspirants are now left with option of taking their destiny in their hands and taking a decision and many who have decided to support Obaseki are either leaving or planning to leave or rather deciding to remain neutral because they have realized they are own their own.. There is no leadership to define direction and protect their interest. It is now like a case of sheep without a shephered . The PDP have realized this lacuna and they are exploiting it to get more members. It is important to know that one more loyal party man who is ready to die and campaign for the party is more valuable than a hundred person in the street who are not party members. Nobody wants to remain in a place where you cannot be trusted or carried along because there will always be the question that if I cannot be carried along or seen to be relevant or trusted during the election, what hope do I have that I can also be carried along if we win? One of the rules of Power and Leadership is that you should make use of those you see as your former enemy than those u see as your friends because your former enemy will do a lot to prove his loyalty. This campaign cannot be about you, Osarodion, Obaseki and few cartel alone otherwise you may just realized that at the field on election day your party members will just direct all their supporters to vote for the opposition and I pray it does not get to that stage. In conclusion your excellency, I am not writing this letter because I need money from you or anybody neither do I want any position in the campaign because that will always be the reasoning of the average classical black man who is already jaundiced or suffering from chronic myopia. I am writing this because I am your very good friend who does not want you to be disgraced because whether we like it or not this election is about you and Pastor Osagie Ize-iyamu. And also, I am also writing it because of my strong chauvinism for my party and the desire for us to win. The sycophants, hypocrites, busy bodies and notice me people around you will never tell you all is not well because they want to always make you happy for their selfish interest. They will always act like the proverbial ostrich, they will never tell you all is not well even when they know it is not, they will always want to sing the song you will want to hear. To them, it is all about the end and not the means and they are more concern about the GOAL than the ROLE but I refuse to be in that category and the truth must be said. One of the reasons former president Goodluck Jonathan lost his 2015 election was because he was more surrounded with praise singers and sycophants than those who are bold enough to tell him the truth Comrade Governor sir, not until this germane issue i raised is been addressed timeously without sentiment so many people will not have the full mind to work for the party and will are going to lose many to PDP as we approach the election . I believed we as a party has done our best for Edo people to guarantee our victory , nevertheless, how we project these things and put our house in other is more sacrosanct. I wish you and the entire campaign team best of luck as you continue your campaigns in all local Governments and I hope that come September 1oth we will celebrate our victory and we can consolidate on the great developmental foundation you have laid. PRESS RELEASE EDO2016: I GO FOR TRUCE... , I REMAIN IN APC AND SUPPORT OBASEKI CANDIDACY Today the 22nd day of July, 2016, I have decided to take the path of peace, accept a truce and join in building a new APC. I have decided to listen to the voice of God that preaches forgiveness, I have decided to accept the appeal from well-meaning leaders, party members, friends family members and associates. My decision does not mean I am a coward or a sign of fear but the need to let bygones be bygones. As a child of God, it will be a sin for me to continue to keep grudges in my heart against fellow brothers and sisters because of the mistakes of one man who is also human like us all However, I have no apology or regrets for all my actions or decisions because they were genuine and legitimate, albeit, it does not mean I have not made one or two mistakes in the process of expressing them, they were never personal or selfish but the chauvinistic purpose of protecting my party and Edo state at large. I never supported Dr pius Odubu because I know he must win the primary by all means, but I did because of the need to join in the fight against the rising injustice in our great party and it was my strong conviction that he was the best man for the job, but since himself and the party have agreed to the Obaseki arrangement even when it is not convenient I will have no other option than to support them. My fellow APC social media team with Obaseki, we have fought and antagonized ourselves before and after the primary. I have never seen anybody as my enemy but people whose interest, opinion and beliefs clashed with mine. My major enemies have been injustice, impunity, intimidation and dictatorship and those are the things I have been fighting. But after war cometh armistice, this is never too late because in the laws of belligerencies and bellicosity the time you spend in bringing peace is longer than the time you spend in the war itself. That’s why, one war ends when another one begins... And any attempt to continue the war may lead to the destruction of the party and State I have been trying to protect. In my study of Peace and Conflict Resolution, I have come to the understanding that whenever we are in conflict with anybody there is one factor that makes the difference between damaging our relationship and deepening it, that factor is ATTITUDE. Furthermore, 10% of conflicts is due to difference in opinion and 90% is due to wrong tone of voice. We cannot continue to sink in the ocean of who is wrong and who is right but we must find a common ground to compromise and move ahead. We cannot continue to live in antagonism over the mistakes that cannot be changed but can be corrected in the future. We cannot continue to live in mistrust, disunity, atrabiliousity, animosity and cantankerousness , If my principal Dr Pius Odubu who was the main victim of the shenanigans has accepted reconciliation and forgiven everybody, who am I to continue the war? According to the book of Ecclesiastic chapter 3, there is time for everything. Surely there is time for war and the time for peace, and the time for peace is NOW! The book of the lord in Colossians 3: 15 has directed us to let peace rule in our hearts. To which indeed we were called in one body. And maybe thankful. Ladies and gentlemen we have fought dirty enough, it is time to come together, correct the injustices in our party together let us apply the 3CS OF NANS( Consultation, Confrontation and Consolidation)… We have applied the first two Cs and it is time for consolation. I believe my message has been very loud and clear and I am hopeful every leaders and member of my party has heard me and I am convinced beyond reasonable doubt that these errors will be corrected and it will never happen again. It will be unwise to leave the big family because of the mistakes of one man who has few months to stay in office and the wisest thing is to remain in the house and make sure you build it to avoid total collapse and prevent futuristic occurrences . Consequently, I have decided and I hereby endorse the candidacy of Mr. Godwin Obaseki... Since my leaders have talked to me and have assured me that all the issues I raised will be addressed. As a person who has made so much commitment and sacrificed it will be foolish for me to leave the Party now, and i can't work for the PDP candidate without decamping to the party. I have decided that if APC will loose the election, let it be on record that i lost with them and if we are going to win, let it be on record also i was of part the success story. What you cannot you learn to accept it and live with it . I have to do this for the interest of the party and for peace to reign. History will remember me for the good fight i fought and know God in heaven will be at peace with me. I have resolved to work for the party. This is my humble decision and it must be respected by all. According to former vice president Atiku, "History will forgive you if you take a wrong decision ,but will never forgive you if you don't any decision". I have fought a good fight and it is time for me to work for the interest of my party since I have gotten assurance from party leaders that my grievances against the party will be addressed. The interest of Edo people remains my priority and very sacrosanct to me . I will continue to promote justice, fairness , equity and will never fail to speak against anything that is antithetical against our collective interest and welfare. I have officially forgiven those who offended me in the cause of this war either in their words or actions and I also seek everyone who felt offended by my words or action to find a place in their hearts to forgive me… I reconcile with my brothers Albert, Amas, Triple Ojie, and others, I personally forgive them from my heart and I also seek that they forgive me in any way I have offended them…According to Nelson Mandala “ Reconciliation means coming together to correct the legacies of past injustice", and I have to plagiarize the words of Barak Obama. YES WE CAN! This is not a time to say i belong to the Odubu camp or Obaseki camp, but a time to belong to the APC camp and work for the interest of the party... Nevertheless, i still remain loyal to Dr. Pius Odubu and other great leaders in the party. I also appreciate all those who stood by me in the cause of this struggle. Big thanks to all the real peace makers, I say thank you Marvelous, thank you Odion, thank you and my biggest thank you goes to Dr. Pius Odubu and Rt Hon Samson Osagie who gave me the platform to which I expressed myself and also to all party leaders and concern individuals who advised me. Nobody forced or induced me to take this decision, it was voluntarily taken in good faith after enough thoughts, consultation and considerations. To my PDP brothers and sisters, I also thank you for the supports and for being a good referee. Una too much! We may differ in our interest and ideology but the brotherly love that binds us together is greater and stronger than the different interest that separate us. I salute all the dogged and rugged Odubu social media team, it was a great privilege working with all of you and also passionately beg you to find a place in your hearts to forgive and forget all that transpired. In the next couple of days, by the grace of God I will be writing a direct memo to the APC National leadership on how to prevent the occurrence of all that led to this crisis in the future and ways to protect the dignity , integrity of our party from the total control of any individual. We must not continue to act like every other party. Our, mantra is ‘CHANGE’ and we must learn to do things differently. I will also be meeting with some party leaders in Edo State on how to bring all aggrieved members on board and build a stronger APC in Edo State, lastly, I will be meeting or possibly visiting all my fellow APC social media campaigners around to have a one on one interaction with them and cement the broken walls, but all of you should be ready to entertain me with pounded yam and egusi…LOL Ladies and gentlemen, it has been a long time coming, to talk less is to talk more, but before I go, I will leave you guys with this powerful quote from Time McGraine ” Everyone should have their own opinion and be able to voice it. No matter what is takes. That does not mean your opinion is always right. But, you are certainly entitled to your opinion" God bless Edo State God bless the APC God bless All APC members. Thanks and God bless you. Signed Felix Osemwengie Isere( esq) President and Founder Truth and Justice Vanguard. 08058493322

OPEN LETTER TO PRESIDENT MOHAMMADU BUHARI. Attention: Secretary to Government of the Federation. Mr president sir, I am delighted to openly write you this letter on behalf of the good people of Edo State. Ordinarily, I would have decided to keep quiet because members of my party will say i have joined the wailing wailers(PDP) and the PDP members will also say, did we not tell you! , but as a person who does not always want to remain silent in the time of injustice, I am forced to write you this letter believing it will get to you in good faith. There are so many current national issues that is worrisome to me, but for now i am only writing you this one to draw your attention to the way you have sidelined Edo State in teams of appointment into key position in this your Government. I want to quickly remind you in case you have forgotten that Edo State was the only South South State that gave you more than 25% votes in your election and Edo State is also the State where the National chairman of our great party came from. It is quite unfortunate despite all the supports you got from our beloved State you have not deemed it fit to appoint any of our son or daughter into any key position. In your appointment of ministers you never considered even given us a full ministerial slot but rather a junior minister. Delta, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom, Cross Rivers, Rivers can boast of one or more key position, but Edo State where you got the highest votes cannot boast of one single key appointment . It was shocking to me yesterday to realise that in your appointment of NDDC board chairman and Managing Director, you did not deem it fit to consider one Edo son or daughter but rather you gave the two to cross River. More surprising, was the appointment of Senator Ndoma Egba who defeated to the party from PDP after the election. Is this decision fair to all other party members who hitherto gave you all their supports from the beginning to the end? Well, that is not the crux of this letter but a matter for another day. I will not want to accept the fact that it is because the National chairman of the party came from Edo State. It is an irrefutable fact that the position of the National Chairman is not a political position. If your own State Katsina can be considered for key appoinments, why will ordinary party National chairman be a factor? If Lagos that produced the vice president can be boasting of key appointments, why Edo State? Infact, if Asiwaju Tinubu, Rotimi Amaech, Timipre Silva and host of other party leaders can boast of one or two persons they have recommended for appoinment or two position, it will be unfair to realise that the National chairman can not boast of one single person that he has recommended and has been approved by you. Is it because our son is too quiet or loyal? Maybe we will have to tell him to resign since he has no voice or influence to agitate and lobby for anything for his people. Let me also quickly remind you sir that Edo State has one of the best brains and credible personalities in the Country, therefore qualification and credibility is not the issue. We are very much aware there are countless of appointments that have not been made, the truth is that delay defeats equity. You cannot run this government alone, hence you must trust people enough to work with you. Time is going and party leader and members are not happy. I have so much on key national issues bothering me, i would have liked to bring to your attention, but for now i have to start with the marginalization of Edo State in your appointments so far because that is my primary constituency. I hope you will act on this my observation and make it reflect in your next appointments. I wish you well in all your endeavors and I pray may the Almighty God continue to give you the strength, wisdom and grace to pioneer the affairs of Nigeria. Thanks for your usual understanding and kind consideration. Best regards.
