Good morning house, please I need your help I was interviewed recently in Abuja for F1 visa, but was denied because I couldn't convince the consular to grant me the visa. Just in case same question comes up in my subsequent interview, what likely answer can I give to impress the consular? My course is Electrical Engineering. Thank you
No cause for alarm.. Post your transcript and let people (gurus) analyse it for you. I was also initially denied in Abuja, and I studied Elect too.

Good evening family, after initial denial last month, visa approved today 1pm. It's a story of grace and favor.
After drilling the guy in front of me upto 20mins. His case was a special one though..
And my transcript:
Me: Good afternoon
VO: Good afternoon, how are you today?
Me: Am doing so good
VO: Can i have your passport please
Me: Yes sir
VO: Tell me about yourself, your institution and what you are doing at the moment
Me: My name is Femi Oyeniran, a graduate of Electronic and Electrical Engineering from Obafemi Awolowo University
Cuts in;
VO: Who is sponsoring you?
Me: My Dad
VO: What does he do?
Me: Told him
He was busy typing God knows.. Then I tried telling him I have a support letter of GA. He doesn't want to look but then took it, perused for a while and returned it.
VO: I'll be approving your visa, pick it up at ( a place I couldn't hear anything again)

This group is of immense benefit, I got my groove here, the confidence gained from reading other people's transcript.thanks to the gurus @Walspring @lagosismyhome @zt. Thanks all. Thank you Lord.

Walspring:
I guess you mean you already filled ds160 to abuja because you can pay visa fee in any location in Nigeria

If you exercise patient and take risk, you will see early date in Abuja and if not just switch to Lagos embassy
Thank you @Walspring.. I booked to Lagos Embassy.. 2nd August.

LagosismyHome:
When is your start date on the current i20 ? 5th or 15th.....because if 5th , then 2nd doesnt help because it would still take some days to get your passport back if given .
Program start date is 12th

There are two options you either check if lagos dates are cool or you seek for an expedited visa processing.
I just checked Lagos, there is an early date Tuesday 2nd.. But I have already paid visa fees addressed to the Abuja Consular..

Good morning all. I have been trying to book an appointment at the Abuja Embassy, the earliest date for appointment I've been seeing so far is 23rd August. Having been denied once, please what can I do. I've admission into Morehead State University with a GA at hand. And the school resumes 5th August, classes begins 15th August. Thank you

Here we go. Rehearsal, the embassy doesn't encourage that. You only use the posted transcripts here to prepare yourself. No one guarantees you that they ask exactly the same questions, in the same sequence from everyone.

It's a live interview not a recorded, my friend.
Thank you @imperiouxx, truth is I am very fresh on this thread. If I had known, I would have been well schooled in this area. that's why I don't wanna make another mistake. smiley

Post your interview transcript for gurus to help analyse it.

Read through people's interview sessions (transcripts) in the past parts and pages, both approvals and denials, for you to learn on how to answer questions. Make sure you do these so you do not repeat the same mistake. Welcome to NL.
Thank you, I will read up as you have advised.

I need your advice pls. I was recently denied visa at the Abuja Embassy under the 214(b). We had barely started the interview, after she asked how many Universities I applied to and what course, I was expecting why the course then she asked who's sponsoring you and what does the person do, I was staggered off as it wasn't the next question in my subconscious. Anyways I stuttered, and she was brought out a pink-red letter.

To Present day... I'm filling out a new D-160 form having been offered admission to another school with GA offer. Please guys how do I go on with this and not rupture my chances of getting an approved visa. Thank you.
