Simply apply for the state driver's license at your local dmv. That's what everyone did.

Mind you, driving in U.S is different from what they do in Nigeria, most especially if you're going to be driving in a city. This is why passing road testing is harder in the cities than in towns.

I have really benefited from this thread and I thought I should post the transcript of my interview that took place today, Friday 22nd.

VO: Let me have your passport and I-20

VO: Why are you going to University of Texas at Austin.

Me: UT Austin is the best University for graduate studies in Petroleum Engineering. Additionally, they have an unmatched reservoir simulation research group and I have been in correspondence with the director of the research group, Prof. Kamy Spernoori and he has agreed to take me as an RA,on my request, with an initial agreement I won't be receiving any form of financial assistance since I have an external scholarship from the Nigerian Government, through PTDF and I have the award letter here for your sighting if need be.

VO: Your Visa has been approved bla bla bla.

Yes, I was asked just one question. Didn't spend up to 20 seconds

Well you got into a top school, full scholarship and killed the only question..good luck!

Here we go. Rehearsal, the embassy doesn't encourage that. You only use the posted transcripts here to prepare yourself. No one guarantees you that they ask exactly the same questions, in the same sequence from everyone.

It's a live interview not a recorded, my friend.

Thank you @imperiouxx, truth is I am very fresh on this thread. If I had known, I would have been well schooled in this area. that's why I don't wanna make another mistake. smiley

If not from graduate school, don't expect it counted towards your tuition. Read this:

Thanks Imperiouxx. If incase he respond and says i dont get my tuition waived, as he will be paying me from his personal research grant, i am thinking maybe i should better opt for an on-campus job. Which pays more in cash. All i am tryin to do is get rid of the tuition in a better way, since i can pay instalmentally.

Oncampus job u might or might not see from day 1 so hold on to what u have first while looking around....also it depends on how many hours he gives you while u are on the waiting list.

Oncampus or with him the max u can work is 20hours during term time so if he gives u the full 20 hours then Oncampus at 20hours the difference in hourly rate will not be that much. .also when u get to school check other departments as well for GA..if he gives u 10 hours then hold on to it while actively looking and then change...also that work with him is what Oncampus jobs are really. Lol among others

Congrats and God bless your journey

I think it would be beneficial to share the course and school .. just so that future applicants can know that there might be funding opportunity in that school . Thanks

Congrats brother.

My sister is finding it difficult to apply directly to SNHU as she was referred to their partner agency in Nigeria. Please Can you tell me how you did the application for admission here? Or Can I PM you. I will appreciate your response.
Thank you.

Some people want to retain privacy.
Some do not want their school bombarded with beggars.

There is enough information there for people to learn from.
It is pathetic when people are condemned because the keep personal details private.

Tell us why you demand to know the name of the school?
What are you going to do with that information?

Life is so easy when we do things the right way.
If you don't want anybody to learn from your transcript, why go through the stress of typing sh*t.
In fact, nobody is interested, just remain a silent follower.

All I know is that posterity will not forgive such people.
Information is power, information is key.
I got the contact of a NL in my school through his transcript and he's really been of help.
If he had posted bleep, would I have been able to touch base with him

I might want to apply either....Sorry to say i dont need his/her school..I'm in a school already...keeping things to yourself does not mean someone else will not come here n expose same school he/she is trying to hide. If something is urs it will always be urs...no mata how hard someone try to steal it from you.

BEGGARS shocked ...is that what you call yourself. Thats fine if that how u see yourself and call yourself that

Students looking for financial aids are not beggers. All american get something in fin aid and also some get GA. Also international student and not only Nigerians get GA...in GA you help with research or teaching or something so working for the funding . Its not free money, ur service is needed

Alumni give back so that incoming students can have some aid, government and others give to schools too. How is that begging , more like how the system is run and structured

You are a begger that ok, but dont call others your name

HELL NO!!!
See, abroad is not for some people; it is for everybody as long as you're determined.
Better change your orientation.

Exactly. this sums it up. people don't know Visa is not the end of the hustle. After posting my own transcript, a guy contacted me about my school and that same dept for info. if I didnt post the full details, he wouldnt have had first hand info from me.people dont know that posting your full details helps both the poster and intending students. No one can take your own blessing. The essence of this thread is to HELP! Anywaz people have the sole right over whatever they do, dont let us drag this and derail the thread.
