The immigration share information with Airlines so, they know when you entered and also left the country. Visa holders don't know all these. It's very important not to flout visa rules to enable visa holders secure or renew one successfully next time. US isn't Nigeria where the fed govt doesn't know it's country's population and those crossing into Nigeria illegally. They love their people, unlike our govt who care less about Nigerians.
