if you are so clever, why don't you import just 1 2008 Ford edge and see how long it would take you to sell it, Ford Edge that isn't even particularly reliable in the country it was manufactured, is what you want to compare to a 2006 Corolla with reliability percentage in the 90s and tops the list of the most popular cars worldwide

at the end of the day, your money, your problem, just don't make unnecessary comparisons borne out of ignorance

the other poster was right, fuel economy and performance are often in opposition, unless it's a Tesla or some other unconventional car

sticking to your alternatives I would suggest the 2007 RAV4 4 Cylinder 2WD , reasonable fuel economy and ground clearance

but you should consider starting smaller, if this is your first car, stick to the basics, a 2005/06 4 Cylinder camry or 2005 - 2008 Corolla should be fine, considering your stated income, the camry oil burn is not as dramatic as you may be led to believe

the 2006 Camry 4 cylinder is the 2AZ engine which is the oga patapata of engine oil burning

the 2006 Camry V6 is the 3MZ engine which was a very reliable engine with no real issues, even the sludge issue that was in the previous 1MZ was not present in the 3MZ

any mechanic that runs away from a 16 year old 3MZ toyota V6 engine does not deserve that mechanic title or job description
