FamilyRe: What Is Wrong In Using Your Left Hand For Daily Activities? by Feraz(m): 11:19am On Nov 23, 2017
Don't mind them. They feel it's disrespectful to do so. That was how the daughter of a neighbor who once dropped their house keys with me refused collecting it because I gave it to her with left hand (right hand was busy then with food).

A friend once dropped all he bought after the seller refused collecting the cash simply because he offered it with left hand (as if his right hands were not filled up with what he bought)

The way left hand is discriminated against eh...as if it's tied to destroying destiny abi na because of the saying - the devil gives with right hand and collects with left hand huh
PoliticsRe: Igbos And The Lagos Controversy. by Feraz(m): 3:31pm On Nov 21, 2017
Amarabae:
While the Nigeria media space was celebrating Anambra peaceful election and mourning a great elderstateman Dr Alex Ekwueme, A controversial oral bombshell exploded from the mouth of the newly re-elected governor of Anambra state, Willie Obiano.
I was vividly disappointed by the obiano remark that Anambraians built Lagos, its undiplomatic, inflammatory, and divisive.
Issues like this can set us up against our hosts.
The Question of who developed Lagos can be examined down briefly below.
Lagos a Yoruba state started seeing some developement right from the days of the colonial era,
Its development rose when it served as the capital of Nigeria, the Federal Government pumped a lot of money in some infrastructure in the state,
After she lost her capital status to Abuja, the modern Lagos continued to grow and it is the melting point of all ethnic groups in Nigeria who are in the state.
Taxes generated from industries, factories, business centers etc is the source of IGR of the state.
Bragging about Igbos developing Lagos makes us look stupid before the world for some reasons.
Its time we Ndigbo show the world our own Lagos instead of salivating on another person property.

Aba or Onitsha are two Igbo cities that we can develop like Lagos if we have visionary leaders.

So why the controversy?
Careless remarks like that of Obiano arm our host against us,
Lack of diplomacy should not be a weak point to us,
That statement by obiano portray us as Land grabbers which in reality we are not.
I am not ashamed to say it that despite awolowo £20pounds saga, Lagos provided the platform by which some Igbos regained themselves economically after the war,
So why the unnecessary provoking?

Igbos should think home now for investment, there is no pride in bragging about developing another man's land and leaving your own to rot.
Enough of this controversy,Lagos is a Yoruba state and remains so.
We can build our Igbo cities and towns to international standard and stop this unnecessary "Lagos and no man's land" jibe.
Thank you.
I read the news on what Obiano said and I was shocked. The idiot just started up what we hate OUK for, blabbing rubbish while stirring up controversy. Was it that he was drunk when he said that or he just wanted to tend? Haven't read any statement from him concerning Ekwueme who just passed on.

It made me wonder, upon all our achievements, why can't we replicate the same? Why can't we change the status of Onitsha and Aba, making it become an advanced market?

Even if you dominate somewhere, why not do it silently and let your works speak for you?

I'm sorry to say but dude goofed big time on this, even pitching sone ethnic groups against Igbos. It's a sad situation.

Most annoying is that some persons are beginning to open up topics on it and bragging about it.

Please, drum it in their ears let them learn...

If you werent stupid, you would have seen that the whole article were laced with bare faced lies, unfairness and unethical reporting by thisday newspaper. No effort was made to balance the report, not even a call the ONFGZ or its chairman to hear their own view....

just wasted my time with another brainwashed pained ipob/pdp yoot.
You're a very foolish cow because if you weren't, you wouldn't have made this a party affair in the first place. That Umana was not contacted to give his own side does not mean PDP sponsored it. 'pained IPOB/PDP yoot'...That's the only phrase your unicellular brain can learn.

PDP sponsored article to maligned Umana Umana....

Nigeria is not a banana republic...if you cannot stand the rules and feel you can blackmail the govt using job loss propaganda...it wont work.

This is no longer PDP/Jonathan time, when stealing was not corruption...Every kobo due to the govt must be paid into its coffer..or you pack and leave the scene for genuine investors to come in.

Don't be stupid for heaven's sake. What does PDP have to do with this? Which rules? The one laid down by the firms or that by OGFZA? Here's one of the main reasons which I have quoted for you:

It was a very bad move by OGFZA, which was set up to promote trade and attract investors into the country through the oil and gas free zones concept. OGFZA, under Umana Okon Umana are doing the direct opposite of what it was established to do
Blue3k:
This is terrible news. We need to remedy this situation. The government idiotic actions harming economy with flip flopping if this news is true.
Apparently, the goat I first quoted thinks it is an opposition sponsored article and not a fault of the government.

Was the guy not voted in for another term (rigging or not)? If yes, why are we supporting the 'coup' to oust him from power? What interest does the world (Africa inclusive) have in seeing a democratically elected man (except he was not) removed from power via the military? Let us forget his age for now before you come with the 'what is a 93 year old man still holding on to power for?'

I'm lost. Someone enlighten me.

Why are we like this? In this thread: https://www.nairaland.com/3996243/no-restructuring-no-2019-election , many persons supported the southern governors and believed that boycotting 2019 election is possible and awesome if there's no restructure of the federation. Sent an international text msge and was billed N50. Thats d last text im sending on their thieving network. Bastards!
Every network here in Nigeria are thieving bastards. Sent an sms to someone in the UK, as the charge was shown (which I quickly closed before I realized what I was charged), I thought it was a joke as I assumed it to be #15. Sent another to be sure, was shocked seeing ₦50. Called them up to complain, they said 'that has always been the charge!' I'm like since when?

Looked up their sms charges online

USA - ₦35
UK - ₦50
Canada - ₦20 or so (Etisalat charges ₦50 - verified it this morning).

Sent another to get pictorial evidence to post here.

Is it because people now use WhatsApp as a messaging platform that these networks have decided to rip off anyone who uses the traditional messaging platform? What is NCC doing about this? Man!! I'm pissed!!!

Chidoka and Obaze look the most capable debaters. Well refined and polished and eloquent.

Tony Nwoye speaks like a tout and he looks like the typical career politician who is in it for he and his cronies' enrichment.

Science/TechnologyRe: Why Exactly Is There No Power In Nigeria? by Feraz(m): 8:52pm On Nov 10, 2017
xdos:
Feraz, sorry for my late response. I am currently at Odukpani power plant conducting some test on their units.
Concerning the question, I have seen very true responses from some gentlemen. I didnt pick their names.
Reason we dont have power in Nigeria. First, the govt regulatory agencies e.g. NERC are not living up to their responsibilities.
They are not puting pressure on the DISCOs to meter their customers and also upgrade their hardwares. Hence the reason for load rejection and power outages. Here in Calabar, five units are available but there are only two producing energy and the grid frequency is 50.46hz which is quite high. Infact they had 3 on the grid but they were told to shutdown one because of high frequency. And I am very sure a lot of homes in Calabar do not have light at the moment.

Secondly, the law that states that energy generated must pass through our dilapidated grid system also is another reason. The grid is not capable of carrying all the energy generated. Our country needs to embrace the smart grid solution. If this is handled, I see a powerboom.
The FG managing power generation, transmission and distribution is another reason we dont have power. The FG has no business managing power. They should allow the states handle it.
Let me drop my pen here...
Thanks boss for the comment. Glad to learn from you as usual. smiley

Had an idea of some of them but I just couldn't place how to write them down.

A worm with devil horns? Some sort of elaborate pasta creation? A vaguely nefarious tropical flower?

None of the above. This image, recently circulating on Reddit, is actually a mosquito's foot.

In a post on Reddit that garnered more than 32,000 upvotes, the photo doesn't come with much more backstory than that. But the image is actually from a scanning electron microscope made by photographer Steve Gschmeissner. It was shortlisted in the 2016 Royal Photography Society International Images for Science contest. It's been reposted around the web quite a bit since then, Gschmeissner told Live Science, possibly because of its unexpected complexity.

The image shows the end of a mosquito's leg, including a claw, scales and the pulvillus, a pad with adhesive hairs. According to Gschmeissner's photo description, these scales dot the entire bodies of mosquitos but are particularly dense near the foot, and may help protect the limb and enable the mosquito to land on water, where these insects lay their eggs.

"Insects are fantastic for that because they have all this sort of fine microscopic details," Gschmeissner said.
https://www.livescience.com/60867-weird-amazing-micro-image-goes-viral.html

Lacking the charm of Mona Lisa’s smile and bringing to mind a vision of Salvador Dalí’s mustache on an extremely bad trip, this gruesome photo that’s been gaining steam on the internet teaches a valuable lesson about the natural world: Nature is, indeed, scary.

The image was an entry in the 2016 Royal Photography Society International Images for Science contest, and more recently came to light through the website Reddit. The picture is a mosquito's foot at 800x magnification.

The photo did not win the contest, however. The five images that were selected included this stunning micrograph—a photograph taken by microscope—of the head of a tapeworm. This picture is definitely also just an insect and not all of your darkest nightmares made visually manifest on camera.

As terrifying as the mosquito leg picture looks up close, it’s a clear visual demonstration of all the things that allow the mosquitos to do what they do. Mosquitoes have small hooks along their legs that allow them to latch on to skin, and hairy pads that allow them to adhere to walls. Up close, it’s not so surprising that these features look like the teeth and tongues of some kind of demon hydra.

https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DLucy0nWkAEuAgJ.jpg

Live Science spoke with Steve Gschmeissner, the man who took these photos—a retired zoologist who has turned to taking images by scanning-electron microscopy full time.

"Insects are fantastic for that because they have all this sort of fine microscopic details," Gschmeissner told Live Science. “When you first put something in a microscope, you are never really sure what you're going to see.”

It therefore makes sense to deduce that the third guy is going to be a badass compared to the three above.

This is true. You're on point. Although, I'm more sympathetic towards Madara/Nagato/Obito's stance than I am to the idealism of the ones who carry the Will of Fire, I see your point.

If Konohagakure is the America of the Narutoverse, Kumogakure should be the Russia. Or, what do you think, bro? grin
Of course, Madara is still one of my best characters there; his polished way of fighting, adding swag to his battles, his arrogance (that's why he's an Uchiha...grin), I love how he wanted to achieve peace but one thing he forgot is people will later on, break out of the illusion since it's 'false peace' and once they do, another war will begin because by then, they still do not understand one another...

USA cannot be the konohagakure of the world cos truthfully, they sometimes cause tensions in other nations which is not Konoha is known for.

To add to the above point, Shikamaru also proved how important the next generation is (an answer he found to a question thrown to him by Asuma - remember 'who is the king these pawns fight for?' While they were playing shougi) when he fought Hidan and Kakuzu.

Also notice how Sarada wants to be a hokage, not because she's an Uchiha or because she coverts the limelight spot, but from watching and observing how Naruto strives hard to protect the people of the village and how he loves the village to bits

Trust me, if Nigerian politicians had the will of fire in them, we'd not be where we currently are.... angry
