Whereas, like other nations worldwide, we ought to be an example of secular productivity, science-driven innovation, technology and education-based approach to socio-economic growth and productivity.

I think exposure plays a big part as well. Majority of Nigerians just don't have other experiences and views to show them they are brainwashed pawns in the self-serving games of those who use religion to extort and scam the masses for their own private gains.
