Phil Wickham has delivered his first, full-length, new album in two years on Aug. 3, aptly titled Living Hope (Fair Trade Services). The new collection of music includes “Living Hope,” “Till I Found You” and just released “Great Things.” Living Hope’s impetus centers around Wickham’s desire to serve the local church. The focus aligns with his role as a worship leader at Harvest Christian Fellowship alongside his continuing journey as an artist.

Living Hope found Wickham working with 19 songwriters and six producers during a year long journey.

“So many songs on the record were born out of wanting to write the language and the prayers that go along with what God is doing in the community already,” shares Wickham. “The goal wasn’t to write songs that were my expression necessarily of what is God doing in my life or what is my vision or what am I supposed to say through these songs. It’s more for the church.”

Wickham’s leading single, “Living Hope” debuted at No. 24 this week on the Billboard Christian Airplay chart, earning the largest jump in chart position this week as well as the largest increase in airplay and spins. “Living Hope” and other tracks from the record have been featured in key streaming playlists such as Amazon Music’s Fresh Christian and Spotify’s New Music Friday, Top Christian and Worship Now playlists. Wickham’s standout track “Till I Found You” is also set to impact. Since the release of the track to digital outlets two months ago, the song has acquired over 4 million streams across all platforms. REJOICE IN THE LORD Philippians 3:1-6
Your source of confidence tells a lot about the kind of person that you are. Paul called the Philippians to rejoice in the Lord no matter what happens. This call came at a time when false teachers were emphasizing the need for circumcision and keeping the provision of the law as a proof of salvation.
The worshippers (i.e the circumcised) were seen as those who have met the requirement of the law but the text pointed out that true worshippers are those who worship in the Spirit of God. They rely on what Christ has done and not in human effort. They rejoice in the Lord and note in their effort or in things.
Paul had all it takes to have confidence in the flesh being promoted by the false teachers but yet pointed out to them that there is only one thing to rejoice in – Jesus Christ the Lord.
Beloved, where is your confidence and source of joy? Your Christian name, baptism, church membership, tithe and offering status in the church, parental connection, position, works of charity, etc are never a good place to put your confidence in. They will never give you Christian joy. I call on you to make up your mind to rejoice in the Lord no matter what!

It was on a Friday. We were all gathered on the pitch after closing time and getting ready for a football match. The boy just came out of nowhere and gave me a resounding slap. I was discombobulated. I held my face and I started crying. I was very upset not because he slapped me but because this boy was my class mate but yet I couldn’t hit him back. Even if I wanted to, I wouldn’t have because he was like a feet taller than me, considerably bigger than me and reasonably stronger than me. Hitting him back was definitely not the right option. On the contrary, what I thought was the right thing to do is what I did earlier…



I had always been the object of ridicule in my class. I was the shortest and judging by facial appearance; the youngest. Everyone thought I was supposed to be their junior brother and thus treated me that way. During the third period that Friday, the boy had come to ask for the solution to the math assignment given the previous day. He hadn’t done it. When he realized I wasn’t going to give it to him, he tried to force it from me and we started struggling for the book, my book. Eventually, I left the book for him as I didn’t want it to cringe beyond repair. So he had the book but instead of just copying what he wanted to copy, he opened the book to like the half page, tore it and threw it away. I was enraged and immediately, I stormed off to the staff room to report the ordeal. The boy was punished for what he did of course but that only made things worse. Almost the whole class hated me for what I did. And that led to the event that happened after school that day.



…That wasn’t the first time I was bullied, it wasn’t the second neither was it the third. And that wasn’t the worst I have experienced. This is what I passed through throughout my secondary education and by the time I got to college, it affected me in ways I couldn’t imagine. Making friends became a difficult thing, involving in arguments became something that I dread. I started living with the apprehension that everyone I met was looking for a way to exploit me because of my stature. And – as I always thought – since everyone wanted me to be their younger brother, I thought I’d be better off making no friends.



Bullying in secondary education is a prominent, incessant and overlooked phenomenon. Most of the victims don’t report to their teachers and those that report eventually got tired of reporting since no action is taken. These only underscore the need for an intervention. This issue is to be discussed among the teachers and then be discussed in the Parents Teachers Association meetings so as to decide on a course of action. It is noticed also that students tend to tell their parents about what happened to them in school, no wonder many parents follow their children to school to discuss whatever happened in the previous day with the school authority. In light of this, teachers should have an accommodating attitude to students so that they can report any form of bully suffered at the hands of their fellow students with the hope that they won’t be ignored and that something will definitely be done.

The concept of what the Future is, is dynamic and always of the same stereotype among almost everybody. For a child for instance, most people would say future is when he grows up and finds himself in a secondary school. When he gets to secondary school, the definition changes. The future for that child carry a new meaning. At this point they may say the future is when he goes to college to further his study. After that, the future may be when he gets a job and starts working or when he gets married or it may be when he becomes a CEO or a politician in a position of power and on and on till he dies. Now, you will want to ask, what exactly is the future and when does it comes. To answer the last question first, the future never comes.

Future, as defined by Merriam Webster Dictionary means “coming after the present time”. So we can say what will happen in the next second is a future in a sense and the next second…and the next. We can see that the future is truly a dynamic phenomenon. Most people today have a wrong definition of the future. They believe the future is some years away from the present time. But it’s not. The future is not a phenomenon that waits for you somewhere until you reach a particular age. The future is something we live through every waking moment of our life. Everything you do now shapes what your future will be like. You don’t have to wait for the future before you can do something worthwhile, you have to experience the future today. Experience is dynamic just like the Future. It a process, something that is continuous. If you experience the future, you live through it. You will be conscious of every decision you make and you will analyse the possible consequences your actions might bring and whether it is going to affect your future proper positively or negatively.

The future never really actually comes, you can only experience the future. We all know tomorrow comes every time but the future doesn’t. So if the future never really comes that means the future will definitely not come with tomorrow or next week or next year. It means you can’t wait for it. And since you can’t wait for the future to come, then you have today. What are you going to do with your today? Are you going to experience the
future in it or hope it comes with “never coming” tomorrow?

With Valentine just concluded last week and so many programmes for couples and people in a relationship. However a particular programme got my attention "Achieving Sexual Orgasm In A Christian Marriage" which is in the soft flyer. There are questions to be asked
1. Is it right for a church to organise this type of programme for her members?
2. What would be the goal of the programme?
3. How will the atmosphere be like looking at the Nigerian Church setting?

I would love people that actually attended the programme to share with us what was said in the programme.

Well, My own sincere opinion.
If Sex can't be taught in church. Members would look else where for sex education. Although in the confinement of young married couples depending on the number of years married.

Until Nigeria has more Industries than Religious Houses, until people stay awake on research than vigils. Nigeria will remain poor.

Here comes the question, Can a Believer participate and watch BBN?

Hey, pls study building. That's the best course you can ever study compared to Architecture. I studied building too. U will know how to design, construct and plan for a project from beginning to the end. Building is all about building production and management. As a builder you can design your buildings yourself although that's the work of the architect. You can be a quality manager, facility manager, construction manager, cost manager, health and safety manager. All will be taught within the space of 5 years. Pls learn all you can. God bless U
