Hi Guys, I would like to ask whether the NECO result is acceptable for the family reunification visa interview, or if it is compulsory to present the WAEC result instead. My friend's date of birth was wrong in the WAEC result so to avoid further issues, she wants to use her NECO result, has someone used NECO before and was it accepted? Thank you for your assistance. |
Finally my wife and daughter got the Family Reunion visa to join me in Germany. Below is the detailed process 6th May, 2022: We applied for visa appointment July 10, 2023: We wrote the embassy asking for expedited process as we were expecting our baby but we received the usual email that they have numerous applications and shortage of staff. July 21, 2023: Wifey got a mail for visa appointment 14th August, 2023: Appointment date, everything was provided including 180k for verification but it was skipped by the VO; we had a missing document (my blue card). I had gotten a job then but was still using my student residence permit waiting for the appointment at the ABH to change it in order to get a new work/residence permit. NB: We also informed the embassy of my wife's possibility of putting to bed before the visa is issued and they asked us to inform them as soon as the baby arrives and to submit the baby's application indicating my wife's application number so that the could add it up to my wife's application. This was handy as it reduced the waiting time for the baby. 26th October, 2023: Our princess arrived, we equally informed the embassy a few days later. 6th November, 2023: Blue card was submitted to the embassy. we were given until October 30, 2023 to submit this, but wasn't possible as appointment with the ABH could not be accelerated. But in all the waiting time, we kept the embassy updated with the whole situation. 6th December, 2023: Baby's application was initiated, with her passport data page and birth cert properly attached as required. 7th December, 2023: Got a mail at my address to submit the usual documents (Payslips, house contract, job contracts etc) to the ABH 8th December, 2023: Got appointment mail from the Embassy for our daughters visa interview 18th December, 2023: Submitted all the necessary documents to the ABH 8th January, 2024: Went for the Visa interview of our baby girl 5th February, 2024: Embassy requested for NPC birth certificate of our baby, we asked them to check in their custody, we submitted the said document on the interview date as we had no missing document for our daughter. 13th February, 2024: Went to the ABH in my Stadt to sign the Verpflichtungserklärung (sponsorship declaration for my wife and baby) 15th February, 2024: Approval Mail to submit passport for Visa 28th February, 2024: Passport and travel insurance was sent to the Embassy. 21st March, 2024: Received passport with visa via DHL Glory be to God. It was a lengthy process but with patience and the grace of God, success will be achieved. All the best to everyone still in the process. Feel free to contact me, if you need any suggestion/advice. |
Euny1234:In my opinion, nothing is impossible. Firstly contact the embassy, they will likely tell you to book an appointment for the child using your application's reference number so that the child won't have to wait for long should your interview come first before the child's own. But if your interview has not been scheduled, chances are high that they might merge both to be on the same day. You have to get the consent of the father in writing approving the child to leave the country. Try to get all the necessary documents and you will be fine. Best wishes |
Mopricelezz:Hi Mopricelezz, I have an EU blue card. The ABH sent me a letter which listed the documents to submit as well as the form to be filled while applying for Sponsorship. I filled it up and submitted it together with other requested documents. After a while,I got an email that my financial status was ok to take care of my family, that I should book appointment to come and pick up the sponsorship letter. That's my current status now....hope this helps. Best wishes |
Didibk:In our case, we went with the verification fee for the child but it was not required. So I would advise you go with it and when they don't ask of it, you can take it back. Also for the visa fee, they collected half of the normal visa fee for adult, about 37k or so. All the best |

Please has anyone been asked to make application for Sponsorship letter in connection with Family reunification visa? In our case, the ABH contacted me last week to submit the needed documents and a form for sponsorship letter to be properly filled up. It is a bit confusing as I have never heard about getting a sponsorship letter for family re-union purposes. Please let me know if anyone passed through this procedure. |
Please can anyone suggest to me the hotels that are very close to the embassy. Our appointment is at 7:00 and would be better if we get a hotel in the neighbourhood. Thanks |
Codedboy95:We booked on the 6th of June, 2022 and we received the email for appointment on July 21, 2023. |

Meaning you got married after the visa was issued, haa that is where the issue came from , it in the eligibility that the marriage must already existed before your husband got his study Visa, like you should be married before he travelled look at the attachment below I don't quite agree with the marriage requirement stated in this post.....I stand to be corrected. No one has the right to tell you when to get married. Some people left to Germany to study at an earlier age or when they were not yet ready to marry. Are you now telling me that after few years, if the person decides to marry, his/her spouse won't be issued a visa to reunite with the family? My standpoint is: The spouse in Germany needs to have a good job to take care of the spouse (mostly a full-time job and not the student's 20hrs/week job). Once this requirement is met, whether you were married before or after you arrived Germany is immaterial. I have seen cases of people that married after they left to Germany and were still able to bring their spouses over. The above explanation may differ with spouses that are still students based on my findings so far. My advice would be, do everything within your reach to prove to them that you deserve to live together with your spouse and not separated from him/her. You may be lucky, its just a trial and luck stuff. If you have money, the best approach is to involve an immigration lawyer. All the best |
Good morning all, I am happy to say that my wife has finally gotten the long awaited appointment for family reunion visa interview. We applied on the 6th of June 2022 and got the appointment mail on July 21st, 2023. That's roughly 13 months and a couple of weeks. This might be helpful to other persons on the waiting list. I hope this helps.....fingers crossed. Festaco: |
