#Riceharvest #Edoagripreneur Who would have thought that the local rice will be the cornerstone of rice consumption? The closure of the borders is biting hard on Nigerians, but the positive is that local production of rice will be encouraged. The Edo Agripreneur programme has taken the bold step to cushion the effects of the ban of foreign rice with harvesting of local rice across it's farms in the state. Edo Agripreneur programme is alleviating people in the hinterlands from poverty, being a rice farmer at this time is a fortune. As Agriculture itself is a panacea to poverty alleviation and the engagement of people into a venture that is rewarding in subsistence and commercial farming. The Government of Edo state through the office of the Special Adviser on Agriculture and forestry,Prince Joe Okojie is leading an agriculture revolution that will make the state self sufficient in food production. Farmers of local rice in Edo state are smiling to the bank thanks to the soft loans, arable lands and the facilities made available for them. Agriculture reforms is one of the positives of the Governor Obaseki's administration. Okosun Osemudiamen...

What’s the weirdest thing a guest has done at your house? |
The campaigns officially started yesterday It is another time to reflect on what you actually gained from the person you campaigned for in the buildup to the last election especially the positions much closer to us When he won,how did he relate with you and what impact did he make in your life during the period under review? Your personal gain matters alot, the same way it matters to your candidate. Check your life and his,who had fared better? This post is dedicated to my friends who are only useful during electioneering process. Okosun Osemudiamen.

Parents now fear their children. In the olden days it used to be the other way.Children were victims of their parent's quest to be wealthy through occultic and rituals means. In the present day, parents are now at the mercy of their own children. How did we arrive in this present dilemma?who should be blamed the parents, society or the government? I will blame the parents for what have becomed of their offsprings and the decay in societal values. The government have never really be there for us. Some parents encourage their children directly and indirectly in the acts that graduated to blood rituals rites. If you live in Benin city, you will hear of the frequency of rituals acts carried out by young people, there are confirmed cases of youths killing their parents and sleeping with the corpse of their deceased parents on the instructions of a witch doctor for money rituals just to live a life of affluence, drive the best of cars, lodge in the finest of hotels and bed the finest of girls, some were unlucky they were caught in the act, they killed their parents and lost the beautiful future promised by the witch doctors. The other day in uromi I attended a traditional wedding ceremony, the master of ceremony asked everyone to stand up,he said a particular prayer that amazed everyone that is"Parents may our children not use us for money" that was the weirdest of prayer point I ever heard, but it was one that carried a meaning and a deep reflection on the premise of the recent development. Life is very tough for some of us who have decided to hustle the right way, there is alot of intimidation around us,if you fall in this category don't lose hope, don't bargain your life for short term gain, don't involve in blood hustle or gplus, there are however some smart hustles which doesn't need the blood sacrifice of your loved ones. Alot of young persons are dying around us,not everyone is lucky, what favours Peter might not favour Paul. To be continued. Okosun Osemudiamen. Uromi Voice Ambassador/Moderator.

Omololu001:Politics in Nigeria is a serious business my brother |
"Certificate Dichotomy in my country, how it favours the Political class" I have been resisting the temptation to write on this topic. The people who wrote the Nigeria constitution did so to favour the political class, if you had studied the constitution you will agree with me without cause to reservation. The Nigeria constitution affirmed "Certificate dichotomy" as a concession to the political class, how did the constitution do this? By stating the "SSCE" as the minimum requirement into the highest elected offices in the land. “A person shall be qualified for election to the Office of President if: (a) He is a citizen of Nigeria by birth; (b) He has attained the age of forty years; (c) He is a member of a political party and is sponsored by that political party; and (d) He has been educated up to at least SCHOOL CERTIFICATE LEVEL OR ITS EQUIVALENT .” – Section 131 of the 1999 constitution. The constitution did not however state that a candidate must pass the exams. For us on the other side, we are required by law not to only seat for the exams but to ensure will have a credit in 5subjects including Mathematics and English language to get admission into the tertiary institutions. When we are seeking for jobs there is dichotomy in our classes of degrees, the society discriminate the nature of awarding institutions e. g University vs Polytechnic Dichotomy. But the constitution was silent on grades of candidates seeking elective positions, meaning if one had F9 in nine subjects,he or she is still eligible to vie for an office.so far there is an evidence he or she sat for the exams. If one wants to dwell on the NYSC certificate and the issues surrounding it, that will expose another concession to the political class. In a country, whose constitution gave priority to some group of persons that country is not expected to grow. Okosun Osemudiamen. Uromi Voice Ambassador/Moderator. Mynd44
