Where are the blame Desmond Eliot crew,lol those guys dey make me laugh.

Good day great minds, please i have been brainstorming on some other agric ventures to look into ,my mind came across spice processing .
So I wanted to enquire from fellow nairalanders how feasible is this venture for those that are into it or know someone into it, These which includes processing local spices such as tumeric,pepper,ginger cinnamon e.t.c. Please contribution will be welcomed, thank you and God bless.

in my area in imo state there is a woman that comes with a Ford Transit van every Eke market day(every 4 days)and buys cucumbers from farmers at the current market price from onitsha,she buys up to 100 bags and pays cash on the spot,so farmers will harvest and bag their cucumbers and the woman will come to their farm for pickup,she also buys maize, melon, pepper,etc, selling is not the problem,farming it to maturity is the problem.

seconded my oga,even with my small scale farm people come and do pickup, I just let them know in advance of the next harvest damn I wish I knew about intensive cucs farming like 4 yrs back.

2. *Foundation Stocks of HYLA, White Angora & American Chinchilla Weaners*
We buy Female HylaMax, HylaNG, American Chinchilla and White Angora of high quality that are not less than 1kg at N10,000.00 per one. The male at N2,000.00 per one.
3. *Female Weaners of Other Breeds*: We offtake female weaners of any other breeds that is not less than 1kg at N2,500.00 from users of Bella Feeds.

from the description you gave me, it's on the hilly side where flooding doesn't occur!
Naturally it's not always good for vegetables due to low aeration and high water holding capacity! Amendment can be done by deep and thorough tillage and application of HIGH quantities of organic matter, maybe in the form of manure.
Apply the manure at least 2-3 weeks before cultivation for better results.
And finally, be careful with your irrigation system as this soil has an extremely high water retention capacity...others who have farmed by the riverside can help contribute too

cucumber during dry season isn't that easy, especially when the water level has gone low.
I experimented at the same time and same seed on two different plot of land, one is upland and the other is lowland during this dry season and the result was so clear.

oga e be things ooo, my dry season cucs over me Wella , but we move ,another bfre the onset of the rains.
