webincomeplus:

Google Analytics does NOT help to rank higher or index better. It only helps you to monitor your blog's progress. It reveals which countries you're getting visits from, how many visits you're getting, which devices they're using to assess your site, and which operating systems are used. It also reveals how many visitors are redirected to your site from search engines, which keywords your site is ranking for, and how many visitors access the site directly, among several other details.

So, again, it's basically a not a tool for boosting traffic. It's no more than a monitoring and intelligence tool. But you can use the data you get from it to boost your rankings. For example, if you notice that your blog is ranking for a certain keywords, you can pull more traffic from those keywords by publishing more posts around them.

Thank you sir. I also follow your blog www.webincomeplus.com. I want want to rank higher in search engines. Honestly I don't even make it into the first page despite the fact that some of my pages have keywords I search for.

Such a nice concept and unique niche you have right there. Meanwhile, your blog audience are channelled and pretty limited, the only way to get them in might be through search engines, so you might want to work on your search engine optimization. Concerning the theme, there are loads of recommendations, just make sure you go for one that is responsive(of course) and fast, also light weight. You can check my signature if you need for info on the SEO and all.

Politics / Re: The Lagos Ban On Street Trading; Ambode Tempts Fate By Maduka Onwukeme by fidorocks(m): 1:39pm On Jul 05, 2016
However, Akinwumi Ambode should be reminded that the purpose of government is the people and that law is made for man, not the other way round. There is no justification to enact or enforce a law banning street trading when the government has failed to provide jobs or create opportunities for people to create their own jobs.

In fact, this is an unjust and oppressive law that all Lagosians/Nigerians in the words of Thomas Jefferson have not only a right but a duty and obligation to disobey. Going under the pretext of enforcing the law to oppress poor people can spell a backlash which even President Buhari’s government would not survive.

Lagosians and by extension Nigerians are no fools and Ambode should be reminded of what led to the Arab Spring. Denying people of their livelihoods would be daring fate and inviting a Nigerian Spring. The consequences will not be pleasant.

Politics / Re: The Lagos Ban On Street Trading; Ambode Tempts Fate By Maduka Onwukeme by fidorocks(m): 1:38pm On Jul 05, 2016
Till date, Nigerian leaders of all hues and affiliation continue in this contemptuous suzerainty over their fellow countrymen. Data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) released in November 2015 reveals nearly a 50% rate of unemployment or underemployment at the end of the second quarter of 2015.

We need not be told that the situation has degenerated. In the last one year, Nigeria has suffered a serious energy crisis with power generation hitting the lowest of the low, making any productive activity only possible with generators. However, an over 6 months petroleum scarcity palaver was recently solved with a total removal of subsidy on petroleum product, leading to more than a 60% increase in the price of petroleum product.

Nigerians have literally been pushed to the wall as despite all these, inflation has kept the prices of goods and services off the reach of the common man. The bearish run of the Naira to the Dollar due to the slump in the price of crude oil in the international market has meant that nearly all goods in Nigeria which are imported have tripled in prices.

Despite all these sacrifices, the Lagos State government have asked Nigerians to sacrifice more; the unemployed who eke out a living by not committing crimes but engage in the indignity of chasing after moving vehicles with threat to life and limb, would be imprisoned or fined (or both) if they continue to hustle for their daily bread.

The Lagos State government’s decision to enforce the ban on street trading is in reaction to the violent protest embarked upon by street hawkers on Wednesday, 29th June 2016, over the killing of one of their own by a BRT Bus. The deceased was said to be running from the officials of the KAI Brigade, a paramilitary outfit of the Lagos State government created to curb “indiscipline” amongst poor citizens of the state, when he met his untimely death.

The Lagos State government does not pay unemployment stipends to the unemployed and neither cares about creating the right opportunities for citizens to empower themselves nor fear a backlash from the army of unemployed citizens. So it adds salt to injury by rolling out the full force of the state to quell not the activities of miscreants popularly called area boys who extort and rob law abiding citizens but street hawkers who themselves are the result of bad governance.

The timing of the government’s action says a lot on how much the average Nigerian government official cares about the public mood. In this era Nigerians are yearning to feel the change they voted for, the Lagos state government is putting them in chains.

2011 was the year of reckoning for Arab dictators and the rise of people power in the Arab world. The ordinary people stood up to their leaders and said “enough was enough”. The revolution swept out decades old dictators in Tunisia, Egypt, Libya, Yemen and Syria’s Bashir al-Assad continues to battle revolutionary forces to remain in power more than 4 years after.

The Arab Spring as it came to be known was triggered off by the act of self immolation of a Tunisian vegetable street hawker, Mohammed Bouazizi. Bouazizi was an unemployed High School graduate who hawked vegetables to survive. On 17th December 2010, his goods were seized by a policewoman which was not unusual as street hawking was illegal and attracted a 10 dinar fine in Tunisia then.

However, the last straw for the unemployed and frustrated young man was being assaulted by the policewoman and being denied audience by the municipality officials whom he had gone to make a report to.

Less than one hour later, a humiliated and dejected Bouazizi doused himself with petrol and set himself ablaze. That fuelled the anger of the people to revolt against the Tunisian dictator Zine el Abidine Ben Ali.

Before the dust could settle on Ben Ali’s disgraceful escape from power, the Egyptian Dictator Hosni Mubarak would leave power under severe public pressure to prison where he and his sons remain till date. In Libya Col. Mummar Ghadaffi kept his word to fight till the end than bow to public demands to leave power. He did get his wish and was buried in an unknown and unmarked grave.

These events of about 5 years ago seem forgotten but then let us be reminded that those who fail to learn from the history end up repeating the mistakes of history.

The mentality of Nigerian leaders (whether military or civilian) is that the ordinary Nigerian is so docile that when he/she is pushed to the wall, he/she would rather break the wall and make do his escape than fight off his aggressor

Jokes Etc / Lagos Na Wah! My Top 10 Craziest Lagos Experience(s) by fidorocks(m): 9:16am On Jun 08, 2016
I have been in Lagos from the end of 2011 till date and these are my craziest experiences.

1. Entering Okada with a seat belt.

2. Entering a bus with two different preachers preaching and later collecting seeds and offering. Guess it was the seed and offerings that made both refuse for one person to do the preaching.

3. Entering a bus that had no doors or windows but curtains. Yea even the driver's seat and the front passenger seats had no doors but curtains. Was crazy and freaky.

4. Witnessing a full swing area boys party at Oshodi at 12 mid night on two different sundays. The area boys were drinking and smoking everything smokable as Fuji music was blasting from speakers. The highness I saw those guys in was something else.I was not attacked or robbed.

4. Entering a bus with a deaf and dumb preacher. For real. The guy was preaching with signs, gesticulation as well as pure noise and had a bible. Prayed with a rosary at the end and rejected offers of money. Lagos na wah!

5. Being accosted by a prostitute in V/I who repeatedly called me "customer come nah! Na me, I go do you well like I do you that day". Seeing my embarrassment, the daughter of eve even came to hold me,. Yeah, like in a tight hug. I pushed her away and ran for my life.

6. Walking someone home late at night and we knocked for the gateman to open the gate. The Gateman came out and told us that he (the gateman) was not around. When the guy came close enough to the gate, he was so drunk that I could understand why he didn't know that he that was standing there in front us was at home. Helped the lady scale the fence and get inside her house.

7. Clashing with soldiers. Those animals blocked us on the bridge and beat us for not leaving the road on time. We fought back and they smashed our car windows. We followed them to their base and filled a report with the Army authorities.

8. Going for a protest with Seun Kuti and other celebrities, the police fired at us and I looked back and it was only Seun Kuti that remained. One larged well endowed female musician had disappeared like Usain Bolt (which was a mystery considering her large size) and that was the last I saw her till the protest ended.

9. At the same protest, the same policemen who fired at us guarded and guided us as we marched to stop area boys from hijacking the protest. The guns that fired us was turned against our would be attackers. I had never seen such confrontational attitude give way to such friendliness.

10. Being in a bus with a woman who seemed to be having a heart attack or faking it while the conductor instead of helping her, was menacingly demanding for the N50 fare. He told her, "if you like, no pay me my money die here, make we see whether even police go collect your dead body without paying me my money". The woman was wearing all these white garment churches suntan, so didn't know if she was in a trance. She seemed to get well as we got to oshodi and paid her fare.
That's my own Lagos experience. Lemme hear yours!

Sixty months, five years, ten semesters, fifty-eight examinations, numerous assessments, countless breathtaking presentations, all for one goal, to earn the LLB degree.

I am Michael Ejiofor, a four hundred level student of the Faculty of Law, University of Ibadan.

My training to become a lawyer has been a rigorous, stressful and fulfilling one at the same time. As a law student, there is a lot to read and so little time to achieve this great feat. Every lecturer taking us comes with the preconceived mindset that his course is the only course we as students are offering thus giving him the licence to bombard us with so much work load.

I remember when we came in as fresh men, we all had this ginger and enthusiasm in all of us. The anthem we chanted then was “omo na first class sure pass oo, if I hear say I no finish with first class ehh…” After the rigorous training and drilling, that anthem became a dirge and the song of lamentation at the tip of our tongue became; “omo i no fit come die abeg, even Gani graduated with a third class. Na at all at all na him bad pass”.

Now you are a lawyer and not a student of law. The earlier you make that distinction the easier the travels through the rough road of early post call practice becomes.

You just found out that legal practice isn’t a ball or the Eldorado you read in John Grisham’s novel? Welcome to the world! Nothing is always as it seems or was painted. The practice of law is a totally different picture from what was painted in law classes.

You read, cram, pass exams and make a good grade; the rest is Eldorado? Not so fast brother (and sister, sorry I forgot to add that for the gender sensitive folks). You were only taught and probably examined on the standards and rules of your lecturers but the world sets its own standards and must be played by its own rules.

You must play by the rules of the world to succeed. There lies the difference between those who succeed and those who don’t. Forget your grades! Many first class students become average lawyers and many who were in the bottom of the class lead their mates!

Those who graduate at the bottom of the class come to lead those who graduated top of the class most times in the practice of law. That is the sad reality of legal practice. The reason is that legal practice is a leveller. It’s like an open trip to get to the top of a mountain and your ability to get there depends solely on your determination, patience, innovation, creativity and adaptability.

Your grade might give you an early lead in the journey to the top of that mountain but then the farthest you could go is dependent on your own abilities. Yea! I ain’t mincing words, grades are overrated and do not determine how successful you can be. They are at best your lecturers’ opinion or definition of success. Like I said, the world has its own standards and rules.

Your early post call years is the period of realising that the game has changed and you are playing in a different turf. Many don’t continue in practice and go into other ventures. A lot trudge on but very few get to the top. Others do not go farther from the spot they started. Others hit intermediate destinations.

How do you adapt to and fit into the legal profession despite the challenges which your educational training never prepared you for? The quiet Caterpillar changes to the colourful butterfly; that’s metamorphosis! You too can undergo that transformation so don’t get it twisted or better still don’t quit yet.

You gotta understand the terrain has changed from what you expected or were told to expect. So adapt to fit your new terrain. Against all odds, you can fly like a butterfly and sting like a bee! That’s the way to go buddy! Here are the tips to adapt, transform and survive!

Career / The New Wig And His B.L. Certificate by fidorocks(m): 5:36pm On Apr 12, 2016
They would have told you that adding the word “barrister” (“Barr.” For short) as a title prefixing your name is wrong right? Saw many of you congratulating yourselves on social media and signed of with “Barr.” prefixing your name. Rules are meant to be broken otherwise we would have nothing to eat. What is the job of lawyer if not to explore every loophole in the law for the benefit of the client? So aren’t we entitled to some privileges as lawyers especially as it relates how we are addressed in the English Language irrespective of the rules of grammar?

Since we can’t make the word “learned” a title we can affix to our name though we mouth it, carry it on our heads and appropriate it exclusively (like we appropriated Esquire in Nigeria), we can flex and oppress with our “barrister” title. Don’t forget, many people went to read to law not to practise, but to be called barristers. My sister told me of a particular incident she witnessed where a passenger who had bought a ticket at a Motor Park had come back to the attendant fuming for not writing her name properly. The bone of contention? Your guess is as good as mine, “Barr.” was not added to the name.

Career / Lawyers Why Blog? by fidorocks(m): 7:52pm On Apr 11, 2016
The unconventional lawyers are the new kings of the profession. The practice of law is catching up with the world as the world has completely changed. Was it not Lord Denning who said, “God forbid that the world changes but the law remains static?”

Legal practice cannot remain as it was in the era when apples and black berries were mere fruits, the clouds remained in the sky or to be gay meant to be happy.

Legal practice has entered the information age and that is why blogging matters. The ICT boom has made the world smaller, a village albeit a global one without entry and exit barriers.

An online presence is needed by all lawyers to tap into the benefits of the world’s information super high way. A social media presence is not enough. Did you just say you have an email? Emails are not enough. You need to show the world the power of your ideas, the wonders of your thoughts and the strength of your abilities.

You need a blog. Yea a website hosted blog. Get a domain and pay for web hosting, it will do you a lot of good. Your blog is your office online. It’s the repository of all there should be about you.

Those ideas dancing skelewu in your head will serve you better if you do a nice draft on it and put on your blog. The experience you share with friends and colleagues on legal issues could land you more clients if you do a nice draft and it’s exposed to more people on your blog.

I don't know much about pumping machines and which option is a better one. I need people knowledgeable on it or had such experience to advise me.

Also are the prices reasonable?
