Not sure of the import of this post. Making such a sweeping statement about any organisation without providing details degrades the credibility of this useful forum and opens you up to libelous litigation. Mind letting us know why and how you reached your conclusions? Seems the company provides a "30-Day Money Back Guarantee". Was your request for refund, unpaid? |

Muza:Yes! I read you both. Surely you guys are not saying that simply because you have challenges of your own, you wont lend a helping hand to someone else? Oh come off it! Seems to me it's this narrow-mindedness and self-centeredness that is keeping Africa down! However, it's looked at, what is going on in Zimbabwe is an embarrassment to Africa and Africans, as a whole. |
Is there or can there be an African solution to the Zimbabwean crisis? Should our african leaders or AU do something? And what might that be? Who will step up to the plate to save Africa, this heart-rending and embarrassing spectacle? |
Wonder at the news-worthiness of this uncivilised act! Throwing shoes is a barbaric way to express oneself in any age! The embarrassment is on the hosts: Iraq and her president. |

yawa-ti-de, I assume you are refering to NIRA's URL. A colon was missing in the URL, but now included. My mistake! "Sidon look"? Fair enough! But risky approach if you are a player in the industry. |
Not as bad! Registration process in the past was not commercially-based (and therefore not self-supporting), and the registration was not automated and real time. However a lot has been and is being done to address these bottlenecks. A stakeholder-based body Nigerian Internet Registration Association (NIRA) http://www.nira.org.ng/ has been set up and given the mandate to kick-start and manage .ng registrations. NIRA has appointed Registrars and plan commencing commercial operations, in January 2009. See details in http://www.ngrguardiannews.com/compulife/article02//indexn3_html?pdate=101208&ptitle=NiRA . Let's keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best. |
It will come to pass and lessons hopefully would have been learnt. Nothing lasts forever! ![]() My 2 kobo contribution. |
bigmodo, you could lose data and experience downtime depending on how you carry out the change over to the new host. Follow the following steps to minimise data loss: 1) Establish your new hosting account with the new host. 2) Create the same email accounts on the new hosting account as you had on the old. 3) Copy your website from the old host to the new one. cPanel comes with a backup tool you can use for this. You may want to simply download your mails off the old server using an email client into your computer/laptop. 4) Change the DNS record of your domain name to point to the nameservers of the new host. Your new hosting account will be accessible with your domain name within 24-72 hour after the DNS record change. These steps will minimise your data loss and possibly ensure you experience no downtime. Once your new hosting account are running with the new host, you can then take steps to completely transfer the domain name as well to the new host, assuming you want to do this as well. You seemed happy with your old host though, if you ask me I would advise you stay with them. Cost is not really a good index to assess a host. As with quite some things in life, you get what you pay for. |
