| Education › Poly Graduate Commit Suicide At Aba by fineyemi(op): 5:30pm On Sep 16, 2015 |
A graduate of Abia State Polytechnic, Aba, waiting for the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, call up, has allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself with a rope in his family house. Vanguard gathered that the man whose name is yet to be ascertained at press time, allegedly killed himself on Sunday after attending a mass service in one of the catholic churches in the area. A resident of Umuobe village, Ovom, Obingwa council area, where the incident took place, told Vanguard that the deceased had a good job, wondering why he had to take his life. “He returned from church on Sunday and nobody suspected that such a thing was going to happen. It was around 5pm that the bad news broke. The mother and the dad we learnt are all dead. ‘’I think he is the breadwinner of the family. It is very unfortunate. We learnt that he will be among the people that will be going for NYSC soon because he schooled in Abia poly,” he said. A cross section of sympathizers who thronged the area, told Vanguard that the incident was a sacrilege which made it compulsory for a ritual to be performed before his body could be touched and buried. “So, it was on Monday that they (villagers) after performing the rituals took away his corpse from the room where it was lying,” they said. When contacted, the Abia State Police Commissioner, CP Habila Joshak, confirmed the incident. http://www.guru9ja.com/2015/09/poly-graduate-commit-suicide-at-aba.html |

To all Ex Pre degree student For those of us that were active in Uniosun Post utme thread for 2014/2015 on Nairaland, I want u guys to vividly remember that the merit list that was out last year became visible on Jamb check admission portal 1st. Few pre degree student with gud score and advantage of being an indigene were given their preferred courses. A week after when the merit list was visible on jamb site. All pre degree names also became visible on jamb website. Then uniosun webmaster uploaded all the names on uniosun site and labelled it as Admission list. But this year is different. Have received numerous calls n messages dis morning but i couldnt answer all. Am using this medium to tell all pre degree to relax and not fret as their names will be out soon. For law: I realise that dose with 58 above and are PD (priviledge of being an indigene) were admitted on the merit list. while dose that applied through jamb but not PD and score above 55 were admitted for law on the merit list. For Nursing: No exception. Same procedure with Law. Now Its likely some candidate with 55 and above and are PD might have a different course speciffically dose that applied for top competitive courses like Nursing, Law, Accounting and so on That is ma observation.. visit www.Guru9ja.com for latest educational gist/news 3 Likes 1 Share |
