The Nigerian Army on Friday raised alarm over plans by “some highly-placed individuals” in the North East, particularly Borno State, to sabotage military operations in the region.
A statement by the army spokesman, Sani Usman, said the elite were bent on having the activities of the Boko Haram terrorists prolonged for their selfish interests.
Mr. Usman, a colonel, did not however state in clear terms the means through which the notable individuals were undermining the war against terrorism or how they would benefit from the insurgency when prolonged.
“The Nigerian Army wishes to inform the public and send a very strong and serious final warning to some prominent individuals and political groups who hailed from Borno State in particular and North East generally, that there is information of plans by some highly placed individuals and political groups to undermine and scuttle the fight against terrorism and insurgency in this country.

“It has been revealed that they are employing the services of marabouts and other unethical means in order to frustrate our efforts and the operations in addition to campaign of calumny.

You have a point ,honestly but I still maintain that politics of witch-hunting is bad for any democracy especially when Govt resources is being used to achieve it.This is likely to set up some negative precedent that would haunt the politicking of that country for a very long time, even as I have this belief in me too that sometimes leaders should be decisive and proactive in ensuring that some persons do not undermine their position thereby destroying their visions but there is a thin red line that shouldn't be crossed - You'll create more problems on the long run if you run with that mentality of using any means necessary to achieve it.

Bukola Saraki: Just like his Father

When the elder Saraki went to the Senate in 1979, his shares with Societte Générale Bank were held in trust for him by his friend and confidant, Chief Kotoye a Lawyer and a Minister in the first Republic under Tafawa Balewa's administration.

To compete for Senate majority leadership, Dr. Saraki borrowed lots of money against the shares he placed in trust and used Chief Kotoye to stand as a guarantor for the loan.

However, when Buhari took over in 1984, and second Republic was dismantled, Saraki came back for his shares.

Chief Kotoye asked for the refund of the loan before the shares could be released to him, Dr. Olusola Saraki went to town, that Chief Kotoye a
Lawyer wanted to steal his bank from him.

It became a court case between 1985/86, Saraki was very powerful with the press, somehow, Chief Kotoye was viewed negatively, to clear his name, Kotoye brought witnesses from France to testify in court.

Somehow, a day to the appearance of the witnesses in court one of the white French guys was killed, by suspected hired killers in front of the hotel in Lagos, the other one Mr. Burdillion escaped back to France, he never returned to clear Kotoye of the deal between the two former original owners of the bank.

I believe Kotoye lost the bank and all his own shares to Saraki and ended in deep debt and financial crises after.

The children of Saraki inherited everything, but like everything in life it must end. Société Generalle Bank was destroyed, it went under in the same way Elder Saraki did to his friend and confidant Chief Kotoye, but in the case of the younger Saraki the law will take care of everything.

And the sin of the elder Saraki may be revisited.

Chief Kotoye in Lagos at his Ikoyi office in 2011 shared his views on the case.

1) Give one example, just one oh, of that UK you stay and brag about of a politician who was hounded on asset declaration ALLEGED errors of over 12 years because he exercised his constitutional right to contest for an office.

2) Show where you advocated similar hounding of Tambuwal by PDP after your idol, the JagbaJantis of Bourdillon used Gbajabiamila to make him Speaker despite his PDP party expecting Tinubu's fellow Yoruba woman, Hon. Akande to be voted in.

They knew the level of poverty that is persistent in the land.

They used the grinding poverty to manipulate the people and this is one reason you'll never see the elites and the policy makers make policies that would eradicate poverty in this country , but they will keep the system the way it is to enable them have a firm grip on what happens and control the people the way they want.


Poverty is man-made and it is unfortunate that the APC have used effect that poverty has on poverty stricken society to win an election and instead of improving the people's lot they are busy churning out more propaganda and lies for people like Gbawe to spread after collecting his peanuts while waiting to grow in the business and get his own lion share.
