Obiagelli: Wow, 4 pages and still counting, Well we can see where lagos funds are going. Good job fashola. My sister, to whom much is given much, is required. Fashola as a governor of Lagos state in his first term has performed beyond expectation. Unfortunately his second term is a mirage of his first term. Overall I score Babatunde Raaji Fashola 59.5% in fairness to his performance. “Omi Fashola pọ ju oka e lọ” – Fashola have enough to contend with including the generalissimo Tinubu over demanding. ihe niile adirọ mma in APC However, we need a change of government in Lagos from 2015. Let APC try harder to unseat PDP at the central. APC Lagos should give us the results of their stewardship for the past 15 Years in Lagos vs. the resources at their disposal. {AD => AC=> ACN => APC} The Time for Change is here… |

The former Lagos NMA chairman, also warned parents not to force sick children to go to school as this could expose them to infections. Temiye said, “Governments must ensure that clean water flows on schools’ premises so that children can wash their hands regularly. Water is important for sanitation and it is the duty of government to ensure that citizens have access to it. “Also, parents should take sick children to hospital. Don’t give them drugs and force them to go to school. Ebola can only be caught from a sick person. School authorities should watch out for and isolate sick children from others. “Again school owners should give hand sanitisers to their pupils before allowing them into their premises. They should also have thermal thermometers to check the temperatures of their pupils before allowing them into their school premises.” The Minister of Health had before the doctors spoke with one of our correspondents in Lagos, said that there was nothing to fear over the directive to schools to resume on September 22. Chukwu, who gave an update of EVD in Nigeria, said, “We have contained the situation. Ebola is no longer in the streets anywhere in Nigeria. “We are working with the Federal Ministry of Education and we made it clear that in institutions having students returning from outside Nigeria, they should let us know. |
The Nigerian Medical Association on Monday faulted the Federal Government’s directive to schools to resume on September 22 as against October 12. It said through its National Secretary-General, Dr. Olawunmi Alayaki, that all schools ought to remain shut till all those under surveillance for the Ebola Virus Disease in the country had been certified free. “We are not happy with this decision on the resumption of schools. Schools should be shut till the last suspected case or patient is certified free of the virus,” the NMA said The NMA suggested that the resumption of schools could be shifted till December or early part of next year because if Ebola should spread to any school, it would “assume another dimension.” It said, “ We can shift the resumption date till next year or in the next three months if that is the time it will take. Government should have enough time to follow the standard procedure for containing the virus. “Parents have no reason to be in a hurry because if Ebola should enter any school, it will assume another dimension. Children cannot survive isolation like adults. “Nigeria is peculiar because of her large population and we should be pragmatic and proactive. It will not augur well for the country if we have another outbreak due to carelessness.” Also, the Lagos State chapter of NMA said that the Federal Government should have postponed the resumption date till the completion of surveillance and monitoring of contacts in the affected states. http://www.punchng.com/news/ebola-doctors-reject-sept-22-schools-resumption-date/ |

In his goodwill message, a member of House of Representatives, Honourable Faleke described Ambode as a good politician and a team player, as well as a humble person, who he said God had lifted up to become a governorship aspirant on the APC platform. Faleke, who insisted that he had the right to support any candidate of his choice, promised to deliver Ikeja and Ojodu votes for Ambode in the forthcoming election, adding: “My own is to support him to win Ojodu and Ikeja, his own is to develop Lagos, that is what he owes us.” The lawmaker, however, tasked those who he said were engaged in campaign of calumny within the party to stop it, saying that the progress and victory of Lagos APC in 2015 was essential. Also speaking, a former member of Lagos State House of Assembly, Honourable Abdul- Lateef, who is also the Chief Imam of Lagos Assembly, promised to mobilse all Lagos Muslims and clerics to vote Ambode in 2015 poll. The former lawmaker, who debunked the allegation that APC is a Muslim party, said that the support currently being enjoyed by Ambode as an aspirant, was a testimony of a peaceful coexistence among religious adherents in the state. http://www.tribune.com.ng/news/news-headlines/item/15558-lagos-2015-ambode-opens-campaign-office-says-apc-ll-provide-quality-leadership |
A governorship aspirant in Lagos State, on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr Akinwumi Ambode, on Monday declared that the party is poised to provide the country with leadership that challenges the status quo and bring about rapid development to everybody irrespective of ethnic background. Ambode made the declaration at the inauguration of his campaign office in Gbagbada and the 57 committees tagged: “Akinwumi Ambode Campaign Organisation (AAMCO)” that would run his campaign in all the 20 local governments and 37 local council development areas (LCDA) making up the state. The APC governorship aspirant, who addressed a large crowd of party supporters and chieftains, including a member of House of Representatives, Honourable James Faleke, Honourable Abdul-Lateef Abdul-Hakeem, Chief Tayo Oyemade, Honourable Bola Lawal Olumegbon, among others, said the message the party faithful should take round now was that salvation of the country lied with the APC and should, therefore, be voted in office at the states and the federal levels come 2015. Ambode, who expressed appreciation for the support he had enjoyed since January when he first expressed his intention, particularly charged the campaign committees to go to towns, villages and hamlets in all the 377 wards in the state to sell his governorship aspiration on the party platform and equally convince Lagosians to buy into it. The former accountant-general insisted that he was not going to engage anybody in a fight or quarrel to win the 2015, saying that his major concern was to focus and achieve continuity in development of the state, from where Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola would stop. This is as he paid great tribute to the national leader of APC, Senator Bola Tinubu, who he described as a pathfinder and navigator. He assured that the party’s concern still remained the care of the citizenry, including the market women, children, the elderly, workers, traders, among others. |
