It would seem that way, ne? But with all fail safe props he installed in Sasuke (Amaterasu to stop Tobi) and Naruto (Rigged crow to neutralise Sasuke) both, nothing would have prepared him for this. I doubt he knows the truth about Tobi now that we've seen Madara. There's no doubt who Tobi really is.

Nah Itachi didn't use everything he had on sasuke, he only used the, genjutsu, fireball jutsu, Amaterasu and Susanoo and was only able to land one hit throughout the who fight. I watched it again last night .

You forgot Uzumaki Mito was mentoring Kushina. As fellow kinswoman she taught Kushina all what she knew about controlling the Kyuubi and its sealing techniques. It was from his wife that Minato learned to develop the Rasengan. Minato in turn taught Jiraiya. Naruto completed his father jutsu by applying a natural chakra affinity.
Jiraiya attributed his travels to searching for the 'Child of Prophecy' that would change the world of shinobi. He thought it would be Nagato, and he was inspired by him to write his book 'The Tales of the Gutsy Ninja'. Minato after reading his mentor book, asked him the honour of naming his unborn child after the book's hero, 'Naruto'. It was from this same book that Uzumaki Naruto quoted to the hearing of Nagato, who indeed was the same person who said those very words to Jiraiya at Amegakure. So it came full circle as Nagato acknowledged Naruto as fellow disciple of Jiraiya. Ironic no?
That's the sole purpose of Jiraiya's travels. He owed whatever sealing technique he had to the Uzumaki-- that's their legacy and he's fortunate to be a part of it.

Hinata has the Hyuuga to fall back on and believe it, could be one of the most powerful kunoichi in the clan/village if she does marry Naruto.
Sakura might as well be adopted as Senju because who else did Tsunade teach her ground breaking technique to? She didn't teach Shizune, so Sakura fits the bill- with a temper to match.
