lawani:
The Phoenicians are the ancestors of Arabs. They referred to Europe as I Europa meaning westerners. When Arabs became Muslims and Europe prospered without accepting Islam, the name Europa came to mean those who prospered without submitting to Allah. The Songhai were Muslims and they corrupted Europa to Yoruba giving the name to the oyo empire because oyo prospered without submitting to Allah. The name is proto Arabic being originally of Phoenician origin.
That’s quite informative.
Thank you for sharing.

Do You Know...

Do you know,
There’s a curse flying...
Eager to run its course
It’s seen with the unjust dying
As iron turns to rust

Do you know,
It is a form of script
On both sides inked...?
The size of a stadium
And more names ticked?

Do you know,
It’ll stay,
Upon a house,
Till desolation~
Have its way?

Rehash and Return

Ocean eyes kept her sane...
Strong arms kept her steady
Even at recess,
It won’t be the same...
A pocket in time
Where one can hide
Safely within another being
Healings intense and sublime...
Till one gets home
Home is safe
Safe, cozy and snug
Safe to brittle completely
And heal whole...

How Much Longer?

A quarter to midnight
Tpp! Tpp! Tpp!
I type...

What should be inked tonight?
Tpp! Tap! Tap!
I type...

The birds of prey
Tap! Tap! Tpp! Tpp!
Space...

Busy aren’t they?
Tpp... tpp... Tap!
Paragraph...

Flaming up cities
Tssp... tssp... Tap!
Space...

Implicating communities...
Tap... tap... tap...
Space...

Ties are torn
Tap! Tap!
Trust is shorn
Tsppp! Tap! Tap!
A monster is born
Tap.

Unhinged

My style knows no rules
I’ll rhyme when I choose
Or not...
It’s unhinged
It’s raw
Be careful Love,
I’m a rebel poet outlaw

Not a perfectionist
But flawed...

Haïku or Sudoku
Rhythm and Poetry
Classical themes
All I’ve explored through
It’s just being me
Balancing on the beams

So before you get singed
I’m unhinged

Termite Grub

Nibble,
the organic dead:

...bamboo
...sycamore
...cashew

Pulvérisé
the zombie lead:

...glass
...ore
...quartz

Flee oh garden bed!
Full wiry vines
Bloated fruit
Needled spikes!

Flee oh gourd
For termites nibble
On pots
Made of lead...

Your grammar composition on stanza 2 isn't up to standard .

The first two lines are bland
Uncut version
I am not in the right state of mind.

But thanks Bruh.

Poems For Review › ...no Air by firestar(op):
Breathe

Good versus evil
Evil versus good
Should Good cheat
Good seems evil
Should Evil lax
Evil seems weak

No air in lungs
And it’s no virus
Kneed to submission
Airways are blocked

Right in plain sight
And held down by four
Cuffed and beaten
By those who are Law

Release
I can feel
The return of air
I won’t bend
To your spell
I am free

Breathe easy
Breathe well

Face to the Most High
Your Time Tells

Breathe!

But people are hungry oo, and may soon start eating house rats. May God send healing to this world.
I have a viscous dog too.
She kills everything:

Chickens.
Snakes.
Guinea fowls.
Crabs.
Rodents....

And litter everywhere with carcasses...

I’d rather go with a clear conscience giving someone else what I can consume rather than giving out something strangled and dead on arrival.

That’s it.

Canines and poultry don’t mix.
It’s either one or the other.

I should know from experience...

Take heart, Love.

If it has flippers for feet, it is a turtle.
But I see it has toenails/claws... It’s a tortoise.
Please don’t eat it, it’s endangered as it is.
We have them too in the creeks, but we leave them.

But if it’s a Monitor Lizard, that’s a different story: Kill ‘em and make a meal.
( Those reptiles are an invasive species)

Actually he was 16 , darling.

Yes I do. A 2 year old Rott who is trying to become house landlord grin

How are you dear? It's been ages
16!!!

(Which of my dogs reach 10 sef, not to talk of 16?!!!)

(Laughs!) A landlord you say? Don’t let him. I have a short-hard GSD and it wasn’t easy breaking her... She’s destructive. Kills poultry, wildlife, plays rough especially when she try to take your hand in her mouth to try to “lead” you on... angry Or growls when you feed her...( I smack her when she errs IMMEDIATELY so that she’ll know what she did wrong.

Stare your Rott straight in the eyes until he first looks away...
If he wants attention, ignore him.
Only give when he NEEDS it.

The bottom line is, you are Alpha and Omega, and he isn’t going to be part of the alphabet until you say so...

That’s all.

About me:

Multi tasking offline.
I am more active on other social media though. Mentoring and stuff.

Then this lockdown is turning me into a botanist. undecided

He was indeed aptly named.

My condolences Love, even it was 2 years ago.
Some dogs are so attuned to the families that raised them, that they pick up their personalities...
