Looking back to yesterday's game, I can confidently say Alves is fine wine. How he managed to stay fit for a 38-year old is worth investigating. I don't want to get hopes up right now but I think he'd prove to be a very good defensive cover while Dest covers the left side for injured Alba since his beat plays this season have come that wing.

Coutinho wasn't that bad but for someone with such calibre, more is expected from him. With time, he should improve abeg. Riqui is a gem and a strict competition might ensue amongst our youngsters, Gavi ( the very best right now), Nico and Puig. Pedri is ahead of them right now so I wouldn't want to ridicule his position.

Now Oscar... Gosh, I don't know what this guy is becoming. This was supposedly to be a means to justify his shaky self but he blew it again. How can you always fidget whilst in defense? He wasn't always like this cos I can remember how some Madrid fans were hyping into the high heavens at some point. I hope he gets better, please.

Eric is succumbing to pressure too much. Most of the time, he's usually off position and always wants to charge forward than what a regular CB should do. Got to a time he was giving the Fullback kinda vibe but the same improper positioning keeps haunting his play and only leverage he has is that he kinda speedy( not much anyways) and always want to make up with his recovery which he usually ends up committing a foul. It's been like that since Man City, to Spain and now, Barcelona.

Pique has got to be one of the most lackadaisic and unserious players amongst Barca's ranks. The way he always junkets across the world, attending Tennis matches, skiing and other pleasure activities. Only him. Goes for interviews regularly and the likes.

Come and replicate this energy on the field, no, na problem. When the team is going down or concedes needless goals he's the first person to put his head down. When a person players look up to, and a Captain lowers his head in defeat, how other players and young boys wan take ginger.
Yet season in season out, he'll still continuously play back to back if he's fit and doesn't see anything wrong that he's taking up the space that would have been used for grooming his successor, yet weyrey is quick to claim retirement.

That's why this him stupid talk dey vex me. Retire if you wan retire, make we hear word.

Another problem with him is that he has lost the ball-playing capacity we use to hail him for.... Baba now relies on Busquets and Araujo coming to bail him out. Even the aerial ball that we could bet he'd win at least, 60-70% of it is now completely in shambles.

Yesterday I was watching Real vs ATM, Militao and Alaba aren’t that spectacular, but the midfielders and high-pressing attack covered for their lapses...Barca isn’t a team that relies on being exceptional at the back, we made up for that with our midfielders and attackers.

Reason I don’t blame the defense too much, tell my why they won’t crack when they’re having attackers running at them everytime, or balls being hoofed over their heads always? Alba is still an asset, same as Dest. They may not be great defensively so is Alphonso Davies and Arnold.

The problem has always been the midfield and attack, yes we’re plagued by injuries but does that mean our attack and midfield can’t press together? I can count people who’re actually pressing in that Barca team and I can confidently tell you Busquets isn’t one...

Midfielders can’t hold the ball the same as the attackers, what will the defense do?

Of all our midfielders, Gavi presses the most but I can tell you, he doesn't help the defense as much as Busquets does. From time immemorial, Busquests has been slow but this flaw was covered by Dani Alves and Xavi, and later on, Rakitic and Vidal. These ones I mentioned were pressing beasts from the back to the opposition's box. Gavin presses, but it's mostly on the offense cos he's most likely scared to commit a foul. Jong should be doing this since he ought to have more experience but he isn't and Pedri is just another Busquets ( maybe faster) waiting to pounce.

The crazier part of it is that the same Busquets is the most creative of them all. Jong is more focused on playing box to box but he's too prone to committing fouls in our box and is too safe with upfront passes.

Take it from me, Pep, Enrique, Klopp or even Tuchel will gladly bench any of the DM they have now to play Sergio... Why? Because they know he's a wonderful asset. Casemiro isn't even close but his high level of tackles and pressing (combined) is what makes us see him as a top dog.

The main problem of the team is not even in attack but midfield (DM) and defense...Only Araujo looks steady, the rest are pants in that defense...

Take it or leave it, Busquets is our best midfielder right now. Left to me, I'd ask for one more hand to assist him ( Pjanic would be fine but I doubt we want to see him play) and Jong in the midfield. That way, Pedri ( might walk back in after injury) Gavi, Nico, and Puig can play as substitutes.

The problem here is the backline and forward. As much as I know Dembele cannot be relied on, I see him as one of the top threats upfronts behind only Fati and Depay, so I think we better renew with him and manage his injury ( whatever that means) and get a proper 9. I am exempting Abde and Demir for now.

As for defense, Umtiti played okay yesterday, although rusty and if he can grow well, we should be looking at getting maybe 2 CBs, or maybe 3 ( in case we sell him later)...

We really can't handle intensity.
