I have particularly observed two recent cases in which the bereaved was interviewed.
First, a female student nurse was raped and murdered in cold blood in Imo State, the father was interviewed and he said the state CID asked him to bring money for autopsy and other investigations.
Secondly the young girl raped by a content creator in Asaba Delta state, the Delta police command asked her parents to bring money for exhuming her corpse for autopsy (they already buried her) and fueling police vehicle.
And I know this is the case in others.
I have tried to understand the reason behind this, like how can a victim of a crime be charged before a government paid security forces will do their work?
What happened to the government allocation to the security forces? I just don't understand what is going on in this country.

My boss travels to the UK every market day, he travels to US and Canada at least three times every year. He stays in Nigeria but can he walk around freely in the streets nope, he has atleast three police attachments.

The victims father has already approached the court to swear an affidavit that the family stands against any form of inquest. This is actually strange, to say the least. The authorities have a duty to carry out an inquest to ensure that her family gets closure and those who are linked to the unfortunate situation have their names cleared for posterity sake.
