PMB had a dream. Finally he got the biro. Where he's engraving his name now sha I never know grin
These ladies took out time and posted poe , birthing stories and costs. Some posted even the day after delivery. So that people with similar dreams could benefit. I call that sacrifice.
Now you want them to come and post AGAIN because you have refused to garner the free information floating everywhere. Why? Why would they suffer to achieve their dreams and still achieve your owwn dreams for you? These are nursing mothers with husbands and jobs .

I had a still birth on 7th Jan. Its such a very sad experiece.
I used Dr Amanjoh of Methodist sugarland, I have no regret whatsoever! The baby has already passed by the time I got to the hospital for delivery. She stopped being just my doctor and is now my sister. D staff of methodist sugarland and dr Amanjoh are smply great, even as I grief for my baby, I reckon with them, I will simply choose dem again.

And Soulcare woman? God bless her for me, even thogh I'm alone in America with no friend and family, they filled d vacum well. She stayed with me all tru my CS, my 1st thought was to run out of the hospital and board d next plane back to Nigeria wt my pregnancy, but she stayed and held my hand tru the c section, her whole family stayed truout d day helping wt my grief, hers is more than a concierge, it's a calling.

To my roommate, you know yourself, I say Thank you.

To God, I bless ur name, cos you have already given me the fortitude to bear the loss, even though I waited 3 years for this journey. I thank you for defending my own life, and for all.

To my husband, God be praised, I appreciate you more.
I don't know.... But I'm teary
God bless ur husband, God bless the Dr's and everyone that helped you.

Sorry for ur loss... cry
It is well. God will bless you with more and more children

To be honest, i am there right now, my friend is about to deliver and there r rly understaffed. Until i read ur post i thought it was just a one time thing o. Though they explained that they r sorry, there was a baby in distress. But my friend is not happy with the services, i feel bad cos i introduced her to oakbend.
As a matter of fact, i had to ask her. R u favoured girl. U said her exact feelings right now.
Abeg no vex u confused me
U r there with ur friend who is about to give birth whom u recommended to oakbend and somehow still asked if she's favoredgal?

Sabi mamas, Abeg help me torchlight this issue oh!

I renewed my visa via Dropbox last September when I was already pregnant. I have used the visa twice since then, once in October and again in November. The second time I used the visa, I was already showing and sent for secondary inspection at Atlanta where I declared the pregnancy but insisted my current visit wasn't for birth cos It wasn't. I was thereafter stamped in. I'm planning to travel for birth this March and I have emailed the consulate in Lagos as well as the embassy in Abuja of my intention to birth. Both have responded. The clarification I seek is on two points:

1. Is there any other thing I need to do to be on track or am I good to go?

2. Any advice for me?

Thank you everyone. Big hugs to you for your labour of love...
Kikikikikikikikiki.... Oya lemme torchlight it... Kikikikikikikikiki
Ur letter to the embassy na notification of intent... Cos u used for the reason u got it.
1. U r good to go. Just hold the necessary documents
2. Advice is not free of charge ooo... Do u still want it?

In other states
Hospital + accommodation + trpt

It may be cheaper than this Alaska Waka o...
We heard stories of mamas that ended up spending more because they adamant on staying with their family.

U have to consider "in case of emergency" money too

So please just pity me this one time and let those who can answer me- answer. I'm so sorry for the inconvenience I'm causing but please help me.

Ok so who will read and post on ur behalf?

U don't wanna know how many Dr's are here... But that's not an excuse...
It's like mbbs
U r on call, u have postings, u have tutorials and u must b awake and alert for lectures, clerk and present ur patients... There's no excuse why ur patients aren't clerk's no matter how tight ur day was.

IF ANYTHING DOCTORS ARE THE BEST AT MULTITASKING... COS OF THE TRAINING.
It's same thing here.
We can help with some answers... But there some questions only you can read up and get answers to. Somethings are really over flogged.
At least search the specific topic u want answers to. (The search option is very helpful)

1. For poe it's different for everyone.. But lax isn't as bad as Iah. Search for lax poe and read people's experiences.... Its gonna b hard for someone to type her experience again.
2. Nope
I was more than 32 weeks when I flew

3. With ur work schedule I believe u can make out time to get hustle for pta (stanbic) or buy from black market.

Pls make out d same time to read. These cbp officials are not smiling. Gather all the required ish

I have 3 questions
1) please how is LAX ( Los Angeles ) as a point of entry
2) is it true that lagos airport won't let you fly past 32weeks? Is it true that they have an ultra sound scan to check the number of weeks to see if you are lying?
2) please with all these Buhari wahala, where can I get dollars at the cheapest exchange rate.

they got a pretty good logic that their argument.

its becoming too much of a coincidence, begining to sound more like a well thought out and pre-meditated crime.

at least, we should try and USE the VISA for a FAMILY VACATION before sending the hot change of intent.
that makes it a change of intent na abi?

buh then again, we trying to CUT COST and causing trouble for ourselves and others coming behind.

Good luck to us all!
I totally agree with you...
Deporting a pregnant woman isn't funny at all... She doesn't need that stress but these people do not care.

A friend in Houston at present, told me about her friend being turned back at the POE; It may or may not be the person.

Be that as it may, this was definitely bound to happen. We should be aware that those guys are looking for the minutest reason to deny us entry, we shouldn't make it easy for them by travelling ill-prepared or telling needless lies or even putting ourselves in a situation where we come across as dishonest thereby making the Americans generalize Nigerians as crooks

I'll just summarize it.

Visa interview of my friend

She went with her husband... Not pregnant

She told vo she's travelling for vacation to new York, and talked about a few places she would like to see.
She's spending 10days because that's what they can get from work.

As for ties
They both manage a company aside their job.

VO asked what kind of company and dey explained.

Poe jfk
The other room after waiting for hours...
I see you got pregnant as usual after getting the visa. and changed your mind bout the vacation. This seem to b a pattern
She was quiet.

The dude calls his colleague and they keep talking about it.

(Luckily shetravelled to dubai for business purpose around the time she was meant to travel for vacation)

somehow it dawned on her that she might b deported... Hmmm she summoned courage and told d guy she travelled for the vacation but to dubai. She couldn't get cheap tickets to the US but she got a deal to dubai and bla bla... He bought d lie... then he said Givin birth in d US isn't a crime but they want honesty and shii

She said there was a lady that said she cldnt get dollars. But said she had money in her cards... And showed them her statement, he called his colleague to check the statement out. So she was asked to log into her Internet banking she said she doesn't do Internet banking. She said they are sorry but don't think she can pay for the medical expenses.

She aNd her colleague both planned the birthing tingy together. And planned leasing an accommodation together sef.

A friend of mine is in Houston right now.
I didn't even know she was on nairaland... She got all her information here. But she saw hell at the poe. I had to forcefully get her interview and poe transcript... Will post later.

Anyway

Her colleague was asked to log into her phone.
She was sent back

The cbp guys said alot of us are coming here with this letter... We get the visa first for vacation then get pregnant and we now send an email to the embassy. It's too much of a coincidence that most people get that visa for vacation on a planned date and suddenly change their mind.. But later come pregnant with a change of intent letter.. And bla bla bla. Lemme quote her quote of his statement " U don't suddenly cancel a family vacation and we all can't suddenly b cancelling family vacation, that's too much of a coincidence"
They delayed her for about 10 hours or more and sent her back.

she said they were all just pissed off about the same story of "I got d visa before I got pregnant for vacation but I changed my mind when I got pregnant "

These ghost members are seriously putting sand in our garri...

I AM GETTING WORRIED.
If Dr F is asking for referrals now then we shld b worried.

When u hear someone ask who is Dr F u just know the person hasn't even read any part of the thread at all.
Or someone asking for Dr Fs email... My eyes pop out cos that email is like water on this thread.

And our constantly posting his email here is what is causing this referral tingy. Cos ghosts members who do not contribute are seriously abusing this good thing we r doing here.

Any email or number that has been dropped before let's reduce dropping it again. If anyone needs it, the person has to read through to get it.

This birthing thing is an expensive and important venture... Sacrificing a weekend and/or time in d toilet to read through isn't bad at all.

Let's stop encouraging laziness...

Thanks @favouredgal for your help, may the Lord bless your knowledge.

@All, was at Lufthansa office yesterday and asked repeated questions about their pregnancy policy. The lady (feeling and looking tired sef) said their policy is to fly pregnant women even till their 36th week. So asked why preggy mamas are being embarrassed (@firsttymum), she siad it depends on thier "instinct". That if they suspect the Mama might be untruthful about their week(as in bigger Tommy) or might be carrying multiple and declared single and they suspect, then they'll send the person back or ask to see their own doctors report (Julius begger Hosp or so). Also, if the individual is looking sick or swollen feet even before boarding, they won't want to take chance.

So I think they use their "instinct" rather than policy. So she said in case am not convinced, I can go with my Doctor's report, still fill their own medical form and print also get fit to fly from port health. If they ask for any, I can always have them handy. Also adviced I have photocopy of all.

I paid ,$1543.96 (#308,789) or so at the rate of #200/$1 I think. return ticket to dallas. I feel this info might help someone. ......goodmorning and have a waddling-filled day
The people at the counter lack information.
I intentionally didn't back date my pregnancy or lie about it... Had my Dr's report
Even downloaded lufthansa fit to fly which was signed and stamped by my Dr.

The lady in charge lacked information... She said I was too far gone BullShit. I was 34 weeks.... Abi 33 weeks
That's not all... She didn't even know their website stated 36 weeks... I opened it on my phone, she took it upstairs after wasting time waiting for check in counter to close, she now came down and said it's not lufthansa but it's naija aviation rule not to carry after 28 weeks. Main while I went to Naija aviation tingy... Guess what? there's no rule like that...

So my dear even if u met whoever, if that's person isn't at the check in counter to cough out all the information she just gave u, U r on ur own.

Go on time and pray u have an enlightened person in charge
If any issues ask to speak to their superior.... So get to the airport on time.

Their superior had all this information u typed... But he wasn't at the check in counter.

If you know one could you just drop the name (not cost or quote or number) so I can google d rest and contact them? we know how the thread is I have looked through alot of the convo...all the parts, but hospital names come up very randomly and I can't just know if ts cheaper or not. But u don't av a specific Dr.. It's kinda like a teaching Hospital.
the ward isn't a room to urself. It's divided...
