CAPSLOCKED:So you too after all the capital letters what is your advice for him? |
daddymummy:They gave Mendy because of his five clean sheets in the tournament helping his team to win the trophy. Rarely will they give best goalkeeper of a tournament to a losing team. Forget all the long story. |

Please holla me, if you can work on this vehicle. |
I urgently need a specialist mechanic and/or injector engineer for MAN TGA. Engine is 480hp with Common Rail Injection System (Electric). Problems observed: 1. Vehicle is hard to start 2. Fuel returns back to the tank in very high quantity 3. Vehicle starts only when returning hose is coupled with double returning bolt. Vehicle stalled after moving few kilometers. 4. When it starts, it smokes like chimney, starting with white colour and then turns grey. Heavy smoke is permanent even when left idle for up to 40 minutes. A clapping sound aside the normal engine sound is observed. 5. Error codes 03378 & 03379-10 showed on the dashboard when it was driven. I replaced the fuel pressure switch and also serviced the nozzles already, no significant improvement. Assistance of a competent technician is required. Location is ABUJA, 080..34..04..00..87 |
Draslo:He was married to May Ellen Ezekiel, a popular and well-loved journalist then. She unfortunately died from post-surgery complications in 1996. Uncle Richard later married Jumobi Adegbesan in 2000. I'm not sure Oghenekome is a product of either marriage. I stand to be corrected. |
Even Zuckerberg did not know his seemingly great innovation will one day be a tool that will land a Nigerian in jail. |
Came across a very honest person called Lade007 in the Autos section. Didn't know people of such integrity still exists. |
fkj950ax:Don't mislead others please. After the oil change, you have to manually reset it in many cars, even on some so called modern cars. Your car has been programmed to trigger the light based on the interval set between the last time the light came on and the estimated miles driven. For instance, if your car was programmed by the manufacturer to alert you for scheduled maintenance at 4000 miles, then the light will come 4000 miles after you last reset it. In other cases, the light may also come on if for example you are supposed to change your transmission oil at exactly 50,000 miles. However, some vehicles are more intelligent to the extent of telling you the specific maintenance you are supposed to carry out. That said, we don't read or follow manuals in this country. Maintenance is not only oil change, there are other scheduled maintenance that should be carried out at specific mileage or sometimes specific months or years a vehicle has been driven. These include transmission oil change, radiator coolant flush, transfer case fluid change etc. These are all documented in your car manual up to the oil grade you should use. Sadly people wait till their oil becomes tin or black before they change them. Worse still, they react when something has already gone bad. |
2. Frozen Foods haulage: 3. Tippers: 4. General Haulage: I will write on the above later and also give tips on the types of vehicles and how to choose wisely. |
1. Petroleum products haulage: This is a regulated area and the entry barriers are high. Beyond having a truck that is in a good condition, you will need to register with different associations. You will need some permits as required in the oil sector. I am aware you can buy a truck and let it be managed by other companies particularly for the use of independent oil marketers. As time is money, be prepared to lose money due to downtime from tanker driver strike or other strikes within the oil sector. Tankers travel very long distance, so you may not see your truck for as long as two weeks. They will queue to load and sometimes queue to offload after travelling for 3 or 4 days. Other than tracking their movement, you can only track their location and winder what is happening to your guys on the road. Well this is for common for all long distance operations. Whenever they offload they must return back to base empty, so they make the money only in one way trip. Petroleum tankers require regular maintenance, you but new tires regularly as you don't want to be sorry for the loss if properties and lives due to accident caused by tire blowouts. Some are 14 tires while others are 16. Good Chinese tires cost upto 95k while japanese tires cost upwards for 150k per one. Be prepared to spend money sir. Depending on the distance, you may use upto 750 liters of diesel to move from Lagos to say, Abuja for a return trip. Diesel costs 290 per liter presently. I wil leave you with the calculations. You can also find out how much tankers charge to move products to different locations. Things are expensive now and the roads are bad, so you should factor this into your budget and pricing. There are many more things you need to research on such as insurance, parking, driver salaries, payments. Etc. There is what is called petroleum equalisation fund, subsidy payment, NUPENG, PENGASSAN, tank farms, storage locations etc. These are all technical terms you should understand how they affect you. |
The third thing I will let you know is that you need to learn how the business operate as transport is diversified. You want to do haulage business but which area? All areas have common and specific challenges. If you don't know what you want and how it operates how will you survive? I can boldly say that you don't need a truck now, but knowledge of area if interest and it's pros and cons. Knowing the type of truck to buy will be decided by the area of business. I will give some examples to guide you... |
The second thing you should know is that you must be highly involved in the business. Your workers have several ways they can cut corners from. Being a rookie will make it very challenging in the beginning; infact be prepared to learn the hard way. But after some time you will start picking up. You don't leave the business in the hands of people in the name of trust. You need to be able to monitor the vehicle and take appropriate decisions when required. |
Hello mobilemykel... I am into both transport business and auto sales. I specialize in commercial vehicles such as buses and trucks of different categories and capacities. I am not here to advertise though. The first thing to know about transport business in Nigeria is that it is not for the faint-hearted. If you are hypertensive or have a history of BP, please I will beg you not to go near it. You will smile at my contradiction because I sell commercial vehicles. However, if you are the type that don't bulge and break at the sight of challenges, or see difficulty as summountable then you are landing yourself a goldmine. |
chigodo:Sonata? |
Penguin2:Even you too should have done better sir... |
One of the few people with impeccable integrity I have ever known. I've had deals upon deals, upon deals, and upon deals with this man.... 4 years going now. No regrets, it keeps getting better. Thanks for adding value to my life sir. |
Very Clean SUV. Not 2012 though. |
Some people are quick to make very fallacious statements. "Who school help?", "School trains you to be a slave", "You will forever be an employee and never a boss of your own". The poster is also falling into the same error by saying many graduates are living from hand to mouth. This is a very shallow reason for dropping out of school Show me 1 unschooled person that is doing well and I will show you thousands that are doing much better. I strongly advise the poster to remain in school and combine programming with it. Education gives you better exposure to life and broadens your mind. Your software could be the breakthrough that is desperately needed in that field of study. If you are truly brilliant as claimed, then you can always work this out. Lastly, you don't even know where the certificate will be required in the future, not necessarily the school knowledge, by which time it would have been too late. |

You will hate to hear this... Most truck drivers in Nigeria learnt by attaching themselves to another truck driver as their motor boy. Yhere are not too many formal places where they teach this skill as they do for cars. What is now even prevalent on our roads are underage or very young drivers that have not really experienced life. They have only stayed with their masters for a few years and have been assigned trucks to be driving. If you really want to get information about the few truck driving schools available in Nigeria, you can approach FRSC or VIO in your location because they register them and regulate their operations. My advice. |
