aysnoopy:Since you noticed the fan isn’t blowing there’s need to check the fan to see if it has gone bad and the cause of overheating. So take the system to a hardware engineer for troubleshooting. You can turn the back of the laptop and blow air through the vent with your mouth while the laptop is ON to see if dust or debris stuck the fan. |
Falsecars:Did you check the boot options on your bios? Kindly confirm the following status on your bios 1. Is Secure boot enabled or disabled? 2. Is Legacy boot enabled or disabled? I replied on the other Thread but you did not respond. |
checkmatez:Backup the PC and reinstall windows. Then run windows update after the installation to update your drivers. It is possible the rar file was the culprit that compromised your OS infecting it with virus or malware. Before proceeding to format, remember to backup your files Another alternative is to remove the HDD, slave it in another PC and run chkdsk drive letter: /f /r You may require an IT specialist to carry out the above. In case you do require an IT expert services, kindly specify your location let’s see if any of them near your location on this Forum will assist. Thanks. |
Rilwayne001:I mean removing both the laptop battery and CMOS battery. Newer models laptop does not have cmos so ignore if your laptop is not having a cmos battery and only remove the laptop battery. It will make the cells in the motherboard to discharge completely and reset with time. |
Rilwayne001:Sorry about the issue that has affected your motherboard. I do not have an idea on the cost due to unavailability of most boards. You can drop the laptop model on this Forum to see if anyone has the motherboard or knows where you can get it. I don’t think it’s possible to replace or fix on-board processor. Another alternative is to remove the laptop and cmos battery, then keep the laptop for a month, two or more and then put back the batteries plugged to power and try switching it ON. It may come back to life after a long period of time. |
Starboytwo:Go to the Start Menu, type msconfig in the search box, and press Enter or use Window + R key to open command box and type msconfig. Then Press Enter or click on the program in the search results to launch it. When the msconfig dialogue box is open, Click on the Boot tab. Un-check the Safe boot check box under Boot options. The above will turn off HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI during startup |
Starboytwo:For the keys, you may need to change the keyboard. Open Ms word and test all the keys to examine the lines that are not working. If all the keys are working it maybe that the system is hanging. As per the diagnostics, you can snap and insert the screenshot but it’s possible your HDD is gradually failing and needs replacement. Run Cmd in administrator Type this command chkdsk c: /r /f If it prompt you to run on the next startup type y and enter Be sure the PC is plugged to light and allow the disk check to complete. If you interrupt the process or system goes off while it’s running, it may damage your disk entirely. |
Falsecars:Are you trying to upgrade or reload the OS? Either secure boot or legacy boot is disabled on bios. Kindly go back to bios and check which of the two boot options is disabled. If legacy is disabled, enable and if secure boot is disabled, enable it. The two cannot be active as same time. You can as well clarify us on what you did that resulted to the screenshot for further guidance. |
Openair:It seem you’re experiencing a black screen as a result of a compromised bios which usually affects the graphics. HP 14 and 15 laptops are always having this issue. Try the following 1. Connect it to your tv with HDMI cable or to a monitor to see if the external monitor comes up before the system 2. Disassemble the laptop and disconnect the LCD connector from the motherboard, then connect with HDMI to tv and see if it comes up as quick as possible The above is if you’re technical enough Another alternative is 1. Download the latest graphics driver from the manufacturer online entering your PC model on their website 2. Install and update the graphics driver through device manager 3. Download and install all the chipsets from the manufacturer website 4. Download the latest version of bios and update your laptop using the necessary steps to flash your bios In some cases, downgrading your OS will ease the laptop burden or rather upgrade your RAM. If the issue continues, you will get more expert view on this Forum. Thanks. |
BOFREJO:Choose another restore point date to see if it solves your problem. But if I may ask, why do you want to restore your PC? |

Lovelynife:Getting another OS online will take you up to 4GB data and require some IT skills to do the installation. You will loose all the files in your PC. I advice you look for an IT specialist that will retrieve your data and reinstall the OS accordingly. You can specify your location in order to get more help from people within your area that is on this Forum. |
Rilwayne001:Yes your IT guy is right. There’s need to take it to a trusted engineer for proper troubleshooting. Things that can cause system to ON and go off abruptly without booting as follows; 1. If a liquid substance has entered the laptop and penetrated through keyboard or back vent to the motherboard 2. If debris has blocked the processor cooling vent or heat sink 3. Faulty power 4. Defective motherboard 5. Damaged fan etc So try booting it with battery and if it goes off abruptly, check the cooling vent to see if it’s dusty and blow the dusts off to allow adequate air flow into the processor. I strongly advise you to take it for repair asap to avoid more damage on the motherboard in case its water that entered it. A drop of ice from chilled bottle or sachet water can drop in the keyboard and penetrate into the motherboard. Thanks. |
hotplate:It’s possible the laptop has already had the issue before purchase but you didn’t noticed it at that initial stage. Try to run windows update to see if the system will update recent drivers that may resolve the issue. As per the battery, it usually happens when the battery is near to the end of its life cycles. The only solution is to replace the battery when it no longer has power backup. You can as well try to uninstall the driver and reinstall same with recent one from internet. You can complain to the person you bought the laptop from if it has not been long you bought it or use it without the touchscreen provided all other things are working well. |
hotplate:You need to carry out either of the following; 1. Run windows update to update your drivers. 2. Uninstall the recent windows update that affected the driver. 3. Run system restore to a date that the laptop was working normal. Hope the above helps. Thanks. |
eXcluXive:Kindly explain the help you need for further guidance. |
Udehpaschal1:There’s need to do some hardware troubleshooting on the device to ascertain the cause and fix. It’s possible the battery connector pulled out or not contacting properly. |
sammieking2017:If the issue has not be resolved, kindly attach pics for further technical assistance. Thanks. |
jceesquare:Sorry, please ask again and make me understand. |
Oluwabusobomi:Do you mean the pipe that supply oil to power steering pump because gear oil enters directly to the gear box. If that is the case, kindly take the car to your mechanic let them check if the pipe is broken and be sure there’s enough oil for the power steering. Another alternative is to use fuel to clean the pipe well and check if there’s oil leakage afterwards. Probably the person that top the power steering oil allowed it to spill causing the dropping. If you have any other doubt you can reach out to me for further clarification. Thanks. |
Oluwabusobomi:Congratulations! Your mechanic needs to replace the oil seal. So let him know the position the oil is dropping from to enable him know the particular oil seal that needs replacement. There’s one beside the timing belt that if it’s leaking it will cause your timing to slake and prom to cutting. |
jceesquare:The rings will become weak with time, resulting to smoke and oil shortage. You can’t compare both oil treatment. Generally low quality oil harm the engine but using a good product will make the engine to last long. |
santakris:Mobil and Total remains the best oil. Don’t endanger your engine in this harsh economy. You can’t compare the both because Mobil is far better than the other oil so use Mobil without minding the cost. Engine is expensive now. |
kingreign:I wonder o. We are here to help each other and provide technical support for car issues. Giving such an advice on a car you have not seen or even know the condition is unfair. I hope the owner will provide the details you need for proper guidance. |
LudaChriz:The XLE version has leather on the seats and door mouth with moon roof for Canada or US spec. It also comes with an alloy rim which differentiates it from CE that is normal wheel without the above mentioned features. There’s no disadvantage among them. The major issue with the car is timing belt. If you buy the one that is still having follow come timing belt it will last longer. Anytime it cuts kindly go for tokunbo belt which is very expensive and reliable rather than the new ones that can slake and cut within 2 months of usage. Most user have spare timing belt on the boot. In case your money reach Corolla 2004, I advise you go for it than Camry 2001. |
Gombs:Get your mechanic to check your spark plugs firing one after the day and replace accordingly with small pin tokunbo plugs. Also, your fuel filter may need to be flushed. Afterwards buy injector cleaner next time you want to refuel to clear carbon. |
kingreign:Exactly, you are right. It shows the engine is in good condition with high compression. Thanks. |
akusucymon:There’s need to bring down your exhaust completely to check for leakages including the catalyst. If check engine light is showing on the dashboard it’s possible your catalyst has been tampered or having a leakage. Moreover, replacing plugs do not completely resolve issues because most new plugs are not even original that’s why it’s advisable to buy belgium small pin plugs. You can also try using injector cleaner the next time you buy fuel to clear carbon. |
oladele239:It is normal for the engine to run at a higher-than-normal idle RPM after initial startup, then to gradually reduce idle speed to a normal 700–800 RPM range as the engine warms up a bit. As per the case of taking longer time to drop the throttle body maybe dirty or obstructed by dirt or scale, it can disrupt the flow of air entering the engine and cause an increase in RPM. By thoroughly cleaning the throttle body assembly, will remove obstructions and ensure optimal airflow to the engine. |
XPaul:You need a good rewire to check your distributor coil. Also to ensure that the spark plugs are firing perfectly. Whenever the coil overheats or fail to distribute enough power to the engine it usually results to rough idle and vibrations. I do not buy the idea of increasing the RPM cable because the engine will be high when you are not using A/c. You can as well get your mechanic to change your fuel filter and also make sure your radiator and fans are in good condition in addition to the above. |
masam:It is possible the former owner sold the car for this reason. But there’s nothing to worry because buying a 2nd hand vehicle means you start from where the initial owner stops. I do not know the oil the initial owner was using before you bought it, it’s possible you changed a different oil which may result to your issue. Try to service the car using Mobil 1000 provided its Corolla 2003 upwards. Before oil change the mechanic should allow all the bad oil in the engine to drop completely. If the problem persists, you may need to change the rings or preferably replace the engine. You will enjoy the car as new when you change the engine provided is direct Belgium. Mobil and Total oils remain the best in Nigeria. Avoid using any oil that’s not Mobil or Total. |
