I have an issue with my Honda Accord 2010.

Recently a rewire worked on my AC and even since then my engine shakes aggressively whenever I put on the AC and the car is in traffic. If I am driving, it drives smoothly but once I enter traffic and the AC is on, it shakes very aggressively that I have to put it off. The RPM drops to almost zero

It appears that the AC is drawing too much power from the engine.

Now they are saying I should bring 41k to change the AC panel and the fuse box to rectify the issue.

Please has anyone experienced something similar before and how was it resolved.

You need a good rewire to check your distributor coil. Also to ensure that the spark plugs are firing perfectly. Whenever the coil overheats or fail to distribute enough power to the engine it usually results to rough idle and vibrations. I do not buy the idea of increasing the RPM cable because the engine will be high when you are not using A/c. You can as well get your mechanic to change your fuel filter and also make sure your radiator and fans are in good condition in addition to the above.

Also if I step very hard on the pedal i will notice burst of smokes from the exhaust, attimes acceleration is clumsy when AC is working.

Just bought the car Nigerian used last month.

It is possible the former owner sold the car for this reason. But there’s nothing to worry because buying a 2nd hand vehicle means you start from where the initial owner stops.

I do not know the oil the initial owner was using before you bought it, it’s possible you changed a different oil which may result to your issue.

Try to service the car using Mobil 1000 provided its Corolla 2003 upwards. Before oil change the mechanic should allow all the bad oil in the engine to drop completely.

If the problem persists, you may need to change the rings or preferably replace the engine.

You will enjoy the car as new when you change the engine provided is direct Belgium.

Mobil and Total oils remain the best in Nigeria. Avoid using any oil that’s not Mobil or Total.

Hello House, am using a Camry 2.2l of year 2000 droplight.
When ever i accelerate the rpm always get to 4 before it engages into the second gear.

while moving from 2 to 3rd and 4th gear are smooth.

while moving if i remove my feed from the accelerator pedal, the speed meter will just drop to zero making the car to downshift while the RPM remains on a stable point of 2.

What could be the problem? Thank you.

The problem is as a result of faulty speed sensor or speedometer. It is gradually failing and if not serviced or replaced on time will affect your ride especially in gear selection. I advice you take it to an experienced gear box rewire or electrician because it is not a mechanical fault. Do not take the car to mechanics that repair or replace gearbox but rather an electrician that is into gearbox electrical issues. If you need me to refer you to someone kindly let me know. Furthermore, you will notice that while moving the speed meter stops while rpm moves. Once the speed meter stops moving you will notice a malfunction in gear selection most especially when you want to enter gear two from one. I hope this info helps.
