Power ON the laptop, then wait for 2 mins and press the Caps Lock On/Off. if the light shows it means there problem with your display/screen

But if it does not show light then there need to confirm if what you mean is blinking keyboard light.

Plug external keyboard and use it to login. Then find System Properties or Click start menu and type dxdiag then click open to see your Laptop model.

Good morning. Pls I have an issue with my Lenovo system. I observed that after shutting down at night with battery at 100%, by the next morning, it would have dropped to below 70%. A small portion of the back region will be warm, as though I had just finished working with the system.
What can I do?

It suggests an outdated BIOS, device drivers, firmware or corrupted Windows files that prevents the PC from shutting down completely.

However, kindly schedule the necessary updates and also see if that resolves the issue.

Also, when you shutdown; wait for 2 - 4 mins before closing the Laptop as it maybe having a delayed/slow shutdown process.

The installation may not be completed successfully. Try to reinstall and see if the system will prompt you that you already have it installed.

Also, I want to know the setup file you used; is it the online or offline installer?

My pc fan is not rotating. I took the fan to another pc and it working fine. Also I changed fan in my pc the new one is still not rotating.

Go to BIOS and check if there is an option to turn ON the fan for continuous rotation not thermostat mode.

It suggests also a defective fan IC/Capacitor/Diodes in general the components that control the fan.

Getting it checked by a technician is advisable and replacing the PC is highly recommended.

MY DELL XPS 15 9570 WITH DEDICATED GRAPHY LAPTOP IS WORKING BUT NOT AS IT IS SUPPOSED TO WORK.

HERE ARE THE ISSUES I HAVE, WHICH ARE DIVIDED INTO TWO SECTIONS:

p = PROBLEM

S = SOLUTION

SECTION ONE

P1: WHEN I CONNECT MY CHARGER TO MY LAPTOP, THE CHARGING LED WON'T SHOW, AND THE LAPTOP WON'T TURN ON

S1: EXCEPT I DISCONNECT THE CHARGER, THE LAPTOP WILL THEN TURN ON AFTER PRESSING THE POWER BUTTON MULTIPLE TIMES. WHEN THE LAPTOP FINALLY TURNS IS ON THE CHARGER WILL POWER AND CHARGE IT

NOTE: ONCE THE LAPTOP IS ON, IT STARTS OPERATING AS IT SHOULD BE. EXAMPLE: I CAN TURN IT ON AND OFF, AND IT WOULD RESPOND.

SECTION TWO:

P2: MY LAPTOP ALSO OCCASIONALLY PUTS UP A WHITE SCREEN WHILE I AM USING IT TO WORK.

S2: ONCE I PRESS THE POWER BUTTON TO PUT THE PC to sleep and press it on again, the PC COME ON AND WORKS PREFECTLY

WHO HAS EXPERIENCED THIS, AND WHAT MIGHT BE THE ISSUE, AND WHAT IS THE PERMANENT SOLUTION?

From your explanations, it suggests a faulty component on the motherboard or outdated BIOS.

Solution:

There is need for physical examination of the motherboard to check if there’s corrosion or blown up component.

Also:

Update your BIOS to the latest version and make sure you also update all the necessary drivers and firmware.

Then:

Run Dell Diagnostics app to know if it will show any component failure.

ọmọ I tried again when I got home still stopped at 81% showing 2hours plus to full charge.. I restarted it shows 100%, then i tried my old 130w in a direct wall socket not on extension anymore.. my old charger sef dey charge fine now.. I'll return the one I bought tomorrow

For further troubleshooting:

1. Download the latest BIOS version of your laptop from Dell website
2. Download and install all the latest chipsets
3. Do same for Intel Management System and Dell Power Management etc

After exploring the above options and the issue persists you may need to replace the battery.

Also check the charging port PIN to be sure it did not push inside slightly transferring inadequate watts to the motherboard.

Pls is there anyone with this similar issue, my dell latitude 5401 just started taking forever to charge full, I've change it to express charge & standard in bios it's same thing .

Even at 63% it's showing 3hours to get full, however at battery low, it'll take like 6-7hours to get full and am using the required 130W charger to charge it

Good to know the issue was resolved by replacing another charger

NB: The laptop is new, not loosed before

It is suggesting either BIOS failure or need for hardware reset.

Lenovo ThinkPad laptops usually have a reset hole and if your is having same, use pin to reset the laptop and check if that will correct the issue.

If it does not solve your issue, there’s need to open the laptop, disconnect the battery terminal and unseat the memory module for proper cleaning. Then hold power button for 40 secs to discharge residual power. Before powering the laptop.

In event that the above options does not solve the issue then the BIOS will need to be reprogrammed.

BIOS failure is becoming rampant due to users failure to run necessary firmware updates.

1. Kindly use combination Fn + Function key for your WiFi to turn it ON
2. Disable flight mode; it is possible your PC is in flight mode
3. Check if there’s any pending update that requires restart and restart your PC to complete the update
4. Go to device manage under network to check if there’s any pending driver is disabled
5. Go to networks and check how many network adapters that is showing and enable any disabled adapter
