spyder880: The floor, as seen from the top................ I must say the work done on this so far is quite impressive. I haven't seen this type of design before. I like how you are always ready for whatever the client brings. Kudos. |

spyder880: We use ranging tools and level to get the right lines then manually cut with trowel, it takes highly skilled masons to do this. There might be other mechanical ways of doing this but this is the method we use now. Thanks. Thank you. Must be a time consuming process. Looking good. |

topsy23: Sorry for the late response,
We were fully involved from the foundation level till the project is fully completed. We didn't cut the wall for our pathways we used the hollow side side of the block. The only thing we cut wall for is the boxes because we need to recess them Didn't even cross my mind to use the hollow section. I'm sure it would be a tricky process due to the small size of the bricks. Thank you. |

I have to say the quality of your work is really really good. I have seen many plumbing/electrical installation works here on nairaland and I did not even know this level of precision and neatness was possible. Have you worked on a brick building before? I was wondering how one can run wires and pipes in a brick building without ruining the look of the brick (like the pictures below). Excluding the kitchen and bathroom areas which obviously will be tiled, how can you hide wires/pipes everywhere else? I can't think of anything other than the usual chiseling&plastering or just leaving them exposed on the surface. I'm assuming the plan/design of house matters but I don't know to what extent. Will be glad if you can shed light on this. Thanks. The pictures are from this thread: https://www.nairaland.com/3677261/ongoing-massive-red-brick-construction

n3xt: My eyes on you. You got game
Lightweight steel construction is bae. I also found something I’m considering in my new builds on the project - zigzag staircase.
Thanks for sharing. I got value!
Thanks for the pent tank tower idea. My client is pitching tent in that direction.
_____ Pic 1 - From the video Pic 2 - Something I’m working on Pic 3 - Something we’ve done Thank you. I've followed this thread on and off for quite some time now and I have learnt a lot from you and many of the other contributors here. My interest was in architecture and I knew nothing about construction until I got here. Since you mention the staircase, something interesting I saw about the stairs. Floating effect due to ends not touching the wall and how the rails are placed.

n3xt: I have some crazy ideas though. I just need some money to encourage me
There’s a plan for a contemporary 2 bed BQ. I’m thinking we can integrate a tank tower into it.
@egunmogaji2 is Pic 2 cool? My client said he hasn’t seen a beautiful steel tower before Probably not applicable but in this house the tank is hidden at the highest point of the building. The elevation even adds to the aesthetics of the building.

Please help with creative suggestions. What about this one? Tank tower with Eucalyptus wood covering the plastic tank. I think it was constructed with steel rebars.

spyder880: It's easy, first, the carpenters will have to create a vaulted wood noggin, then the POP guys can follow the pattern. Ok, thanks. I had assumed it would be something complicated to do. |

spyder880: I want you to look at the way they are hung on the roofing wood, or other supports, very solid and tied. Don't be deceived about the simplicity of the hanging threads, they contain binding wires inside them....... Very informative, thanks for sharing. I have a question though. How would you hang a vaulted/sloped ceiling? Say for example, for the space in the 1st picture below, I wanted a ceiling that follows the slope of the roof, how exactly will this be done? Would the process be the same as the one you've described here?
