I never actually thought I'd be making a post like this on nairaland or anywhere else but here I am cause I'm not sure if I can continue to keep this inside of me any longer because it's taking a huge toll on my mental health.
I'm 18 years old and after writing Jamb twice I recently got admission into unilag, I really thought life was only going to get better for me until quickly life took a downturn. I've never felt this bad in my life and I honestly don't know how things have gotten as bad as they are right now. For the past 2 weeks, my entire family has been living off my own money. My dad hasn't done anything tangible this year at all apart from using the rest of his money to help sponsor some bleeped up project in some god forsaken church. If my calculations are correct I've given my dad about 43,000 in about 2 weeks now and he's only been asking for more. Just yesterday I had to ask a friend for 5k just to be able to give my dad. So today, I took a bold step and checked his account balance and I realized that my dad has only about 1500 in his two accounts. I haven't paid for unilag's toxicology test yet or any of the other dues and the guy that helped with the online screening has started breathing on my neck for me to pay him his money. I have no idea whenever things would start looking up for me or my family financially , I can't even speak to any of my friends about this, I'm just going through this alone. I even toyed with the idea of selling my admission but I'm not going to do that cause I still have a little faith that things might get better for me sha. Maybe putting this out there and getting this off my chest would be help me feel better, hopefully though. Well in the words of one of my favourite nairalanders. "Damn, nasty I'm outta here."

I'm a girl... I like and date mostly boys (so I'm focusing on them)... I'm eighteen, so I like and boys between 18-25... I'm from a southern state... I rarely judge...

My observation::

I recently travelled back home, to my state... I'm living in my family home in a small quiet town... Correction, it was quiet then... Now, it's just one big nightclub!

Before, I've been residing in Abuja... The boys there are from all over the country... They are just okay... Some are wayward, others aren't... An average score of 5/10... I hardly liked any...

Where I am presently, every boy who's my age mate is a yahoo boy!!!

It's insane! The dreads, the ripped jeans... These would be normal to me because I'm liberal but I'm smart enough to know that this is the signature look of yahoo boys...

This afternoon I went out... There's a neighbour who's about 21-23... He's really cute (I find dreads attractive)... He's been looking at me a lot too... But he's a yahoo boy... He hangs out with a rough crowd... And he's UNDATABLE!!! Because yahoo boys are into rituals and therefore predators...

And nearly 80% of the boys here are like him... Young, poor, desperate and dangerous...

I also found out that the South South States are hot... In pidgin, "most of the boys don cast"...

Delta (Warri, Abraka, Sapele esp.), Bayelsa, Port-harcourt, Edo (Benin esp.), etc...

Not to mention the Western states and even those to the East...

Girls my generation, it would be very difficult to find someone to date... Especially the good girls...

Even the bad boys in Abuja and the other Northern states, most were Southerners...

Good boys are nearly extinct in Nigeria...

I never actually thought I'd find someone my age on this nairaland sha. most of these adults have this weird feeling of entitlement to this forum and always talk as if Seun made it for them only and let's not even talk about how they unnecessarily slander younger people.
