Can someone now tell me, in what way is Kenya greater than Nigeria? At least Nigeria got her Presidential elections right since independence. |

Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on media and publicity, Garba Shehu has claimed that rodents invaded the President’s office, hence the need for renovation. Recall the President on Monday, August 21, notified the National Assembly on his resumption but would be working from home due to ongoing renovation. Garba Shehu told THISDAY that the renovation was as a result of various damages rodents had caused after invading Buhari’s office. While the nation’s number one citizen was away on medical vacation, rats entertained themselves with the furniture in his office. “Following the three months period of disuse, rodents have caused a lot of damage to the furniture and the air conditioning units,” he was quoted to have said. Shehu said the maintenance company has been asked to speed up its pace of work. While they are at it, Buhari would operate from a rodents-free office within his residence.

Too much dependence on oil has further dragged Nigeria to this abyss of economic misfortune. It's high time we stepped out of this craze and embrace new opportunities. |
In an article, the business mogul noted that if oil can’t save the economy of Venezuela known to have the largest reserve in the world, then it can’t save Nigeria. The article reads, “When I proposed electric cars for Nigeria and started driving one, many laughed. Today, France, U.K. and Norway have banned petrol cars from between 2025-2040. “It is not a matter of if, when it is a matter of when. When I read about Boko Haram killing the engineers searching for oil in Lake Chad I was sad, because oil is fading product. It is on its way to obsolescence. “How can we allow people die for oil, a commodity that the world is moving away from in favour of electric, alternative energy and other non fossil fuels? “Mr. President and my colleagues in the National Assembly, If Nigeria does not restructure today and move our economy away from dependence on oil, a very, very rude shock awaits us eight years from now. “Our mass transit system is almost 100% completely dependent on a road transportation policy that is dependent on petrol and diesel. Even the new trains that the Nigerian Railway Corporation has are diesel engine units. “Eight years from now when Europe, America and Southeast Asia start going electric, Nigeria will become a dumping ground for petrol and diesel cars and trains that have no future. “Already we are becoming a dumping ground. Motor Assembly plants that are now becoming obsolete in South Africa and Asia are being knocked down and transported to Nigeria to deceive us that cars are being assembled in Nigeria. “Mr. President, my colleagues and fellow Nigerians, please do not be deceived. They have seen the future and are preparing for it. What we are getting are their rejects. “We must redesign our automobile and mass transit policy. We have a unique advantage in that we do not have a strong industrial base so we do not have to demobilize it and retool it for the future which is going green. “We can start afresh and go green. “We should design an automobile policy that provides that only manufactures of electric vehicles can come and set up manufacturing plants in Nigeria. “We should design a mass transit policy that makes railway system shift from diesel or other fossil fuels to either electric or any type of non fossil fuels. “Mr. President, my colleagues, time is running out. The world is moving on. We must remember that we are the leaders of Nigeria at this very moment and that good leaders see the best in people but great leaders are the ones who help people see the best in themselves. That’s what Nigeria needs and that is why I am doing this. “Mr. President, I was way ahead on this issue. I predicted it. I prepared for it. And now I am telling you that I have an automobile policy that I have prepared for Nigeria which I will give to you as my patriotic contribution to the growth of Nigeria because I don’t just believe in identifying problems, I also identify solutions. “If Nigeria does not restructure today and move our economy away from dependence on oil, a very, very rude shock awaits us eight years from now when the 2025 deadline of some European nations to move to electric cars take effect. “And Mr. President, it looks to me as if you are not even preparing for that. Nigeria seems to be digging its heels into oil rather than planning to get out before we become like the fly that follows the course into the grave. “When I read that Boko Haram killed engineers prospecting for oil in Lake Chad I was sad. Oil is fading. It is on its way to obsolescence. Should we be losing valuable human souls chasing after a commodity that is on its way to obsolescence? “How can we allow people die for oil, a commodity the world is moving from in favour of electric, alternative energy and non fossil fuels? “Look at Venezuela. The proven oil reserves in Venezuela are recognised as the largest in the world, totaling 297 billion barrels, yet Venezuela, with less than 20% of Nigeria’s population is facing economic ruin. If oil could save a country it would have saved Venezuela! “That oil has not saved Venezuela means that it cannot save Nigeria. They have it more than we do. We are more populated than they. Do the maths! “What is happening in Venezuela will be child’s play compared to what may happen to Nigeria if we do not restructure before oil becomes obsolete. “Mr. President, it is no longer a choice. It is a necessity. As leaders, we cannot operate by what we see. We must exist by what we visualise. “A country like the United Arab Emirates is far ahead of us. Knowing what is coining for oil, they have diversified their economy away from oil to aviation. “Thirty per cent of the Gross Domestic Product of Dubai comes from aviation. It did not just happen by itself. It was and is the result of visionary and purposeful leadership by their leadership. “Now, more than ever, Nigeria needs that type of leadership. “A world without oil is not scare mongering. It is a very real possibility that is upon us and will keep biting harder and harder. “Let us not think that the West will save us by giving us aid when that time comes. We must be prudent and be aware that when it gets dark, even a man’s own shadow will leave him! “But it is not all bad news. In the midst of all this gloom, there is Anambra, a state that has shown us what can be done to better an economy without oil. “Anambra has taken to agriculture and manufacturing and is exporting its produce to Europe and earning billions of naira along the way. “What is it that Anambra is doing that cannot be done by other states with an even larger landmass than Anambra? “If we get our acts right in Nigeria, we can produce enough food to feed the rest of Africa and the $35 billion Africa spends importing food can find its way to Nigeria instead of to Europe and Asia.”

By Anuoluwapo Adeseun After over 100 days in London, United Kingdom, President Muhammadu Buhari on Saturday, August 19 , finally arrived Nigeria. Recall he left Nigeria May 7 for London where he had been receiving medical attention for an undisclosed illness. There was near commotion at the commercial wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja on Saturday as air passengers and workers rushed out in excitement to see President Muhammadu Buhari immediately his aircraft touched down at the tarmac.

Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, disagreed with Acting President Yemi Osinbajo over his categorisation of hate speech as an act of terrorism. At a security summit in Abuja on Thursday, August 17, Yemi Osinbajo said the federal government would no longer tolerate inflammatory statements. But in a statement which Lere Olayinka, his spokesman, issued on his behalf, Fayose alleged that the development was a plot to silence the opposition. He said since Osinbajo’s pronouncement is not backed by any legislation, Nigerians would resist it. Fayose, who said he is not in support of hate speeches, added that there was the need to caution the federal government “on the danger inherent in the blanket categorisation of hate speech as treasonable.” “I wish to express concern over the pronouncement of the Acting President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo that hate speech will henceforth be treated as terrorism,” Fayose said. “While I am totally against hate speech and will support any effort to curb it, it is important to caution the federal government on the danger inherent in the blanket categorisation of hate speech as treasonable. “I make bold to say that saying the truth concerning the country and its rulers cannot be termed as hate speech.

dlondonbadboy:October 1 declarations of different seccessionist groups is not workable with this new development. |
Don’t make plans for October as according to the latest conspiracy theory, the world is going to end. Astronomer and conspiracy theorist, David Meade believes the end of human existence will come in just a few weeks, after two huge events in the cosmos collide. First will be the Great American Total Solar Eclipse on August 21 when the Moon will cover the sun causing temperatures to plummet and half the planet falling into sudden darkness. As if that wasn’t bad enough, he claims the eclipse will coincide with a huge planet – called Planet X or Nibiru – smashing into and destroying the earth. Will Earth be destroyed? Meade, who is the leading expert on the Planet X theory and even wrote a book about it called Planet X – The 2017 Arrival, claims the planet will first appear in September and then completely destroy it by crashing into it in October. He claimed the planet isn’t visible yet as it’s approaching from above the South Pole, which “This makes observations difficult – unless you’re flying at a high altitude over South America with an excellent camera.” Japan, Argentina, Indonesia and Peru have all experienced earthquakes in recent weeks and according to Meade it’s a sign the death planet is already having an effect on the earth. Planet X is coming for us. The prediction isn’t just based on scientific fact, Meade claims in the Bible, the Book of Revelation also points to a September date. This is what he had to say about it: “During this time frame, on September 23, 2017, the moon appears under the feet of the Constellation Virgo. “The Sun appears to precisely clothe Virgo…Jupiter is birthed on September 9, 2017. “The 12 stars at that date include the nine stars of Leo, and the three planetary alignments of Mercury, Venus and Mars – which combine to make a count of 12 stars on the head of Virgo. “Thus the constellations Virgo, Leo and Serpens-Ophiuchus represent a unique once-in-a-century sign exactly as depicted in the 12th chapter of Revelation. This is our time marker.” |
Fit2Rule:Do you have problem with any one of them? |
Right step in a right direction. But Mr Acting president try and ask Paul Kagame how issues surrounding Rwandan genocide could have been averted. We need to nip ours too in the bud before it blows out of proportion. May God grant our president the health and strength he needs to fulfil his promises for our nation. Long Live PYO Long Live FRN Long Live Nigerians |
The level of their greed knows no bounds. Nigeria will hardly make a head way if we still grapple with sit-tight syndrome popular with people who are old enough to be our forefathers lurking around corridors of power. David Mark hit the limelight when he was barely 22 years old. It surprises me to still see someone like him hold on tenaciously to power at 69 and even yearning for more. Going by this calculation, his grandchild should be holding that position if we are still in a saner society just like the one he benefitted from. Does it mean that there were no old people when he had that kind of opportunity? Got me thinking though.

Former Senate President David Mark has explained the reason behind his closed lips in the 8th National Assembly. The lawmaker representing Benue South at the Upper Chamber of the National Assembly, said he decided not to make any contribution following the defeat of his party, the Peoples Democratic Party in the last general election. Mark has been under verbal attacks from angry Nigerians over his ‘siddon look’ posture since his ouster as the Senate President. The former Niger State military administrator, while addressing members of his party at his Otukpo residence recently, said he was tired of hearing people calling him names over the sorry state of his constituency.

A dog that is bound to get lost will not listen to the hunter's whistle. Word for the wise and shrewd |
By Somuadila Ugwummadu
Following different versions of false news
peddled by the Nigerian media and most
regrettably, respected individuals, to narrate
the very unfortunate incident that happened
at St Philips Catholic Church, Amakwa
Ozubulu, We, in our culture has dug out the
details of this event and how it deteriorated
to the August 6 massacre.
Aloysius Ikegwuonu (Bishop), presently a
drug baron in South Africa, was born in
1981 to the family of Chief Ikegwuonu,
Amakwa Ozubulu. He grew up in a very poor
home and often helped his mother who
trades at Orie Akpu market, Off Ugwu Orie
Bus Stop, Amakwa Ozubulu. 'Aloyee' as
fondly called by his friends in his early youth
stage, first came to limelight in 1999 when
he became the senior prefect of
Comprehensive Secondary School, C.S.S.,
(formerly College of Basic Studies, C.B.S.)
Egbema Ozubulu; a school founded by
Reverend Father Nwabaju Izuchi, a United
States based Catholic priest.
Right after his secondary school studies
which he finished after his May/June WASSCE
examination in the year 2000, he traveled
out to South Africa on March 2001 where he
became a multi millionaire within his first
four (4) months of his stay there. He came
back nine (9) months later (December 2001)
and splashed his money around. This was
the first major drug deal advert in Ozubulu,
a land formerly known for the bravery of her
indigenes, tranquility and high moral
standards. (This seed Aloyee planted did not
take time to bear fruits.)
With this, Aloyee attracted many friends to
himself especially his school mates at C.S.S..
They indicated interest to serve him and do
whatever he wants them to do as long as
they will end up as 'successful' as he is and
as quick as he made it. There was an exodus
of Ozubulu youths to South Africa between
the years 2004-2007. With these many
people around him, Aloyee who had
adopted the name 'Bishop' in South Africa
needed someone he could trust better. He
went for his best friend in the
aforementioned secondary school, Ginika
Nwoke.
Ginika, alias Giniyee, hailed from Mbaise in
Imo State; he is an orphan and the only child
of his parents. He grew up with his uncle, Ite
Ego (a butcher at Orie Akpu market, Ugwu
Orie Ozubulu) all through his childhood and
adolescent age. He gained admission to
study Psychology at Nnamdi Azikiwe
University, Awka in the year 2001 and was
living at an unpainted two storey building, a
lodge for students, about 100 meters from
Unizik temporary site junction. Due to
pressure from Bishop, he abandoned his
university education just after his 200 level.
Giniyee's room mate at the University was
Nonso Ewulu, alias Ajagara Igwe, who
studied Political Science in the same
university 2001-2005. Ajagara Igwe was
also Giniyee and Bishop's classmate at C.S.S.
Ozubulu.
Bishop's notorious act began with his own
mother. He allegedly sacrificed his mother
(who had rejected his ill wealth) to occult
group. This allegation seemed more truthful
when he refused to raised a stone at his
mother's grave. Bishop leveled his father's
home with an interlocking tiles months after
his mother's death and till today, you cannot
identify his mother's grave in his father's
compound.
To douse this rumor, Bishop engaged in an
aggressive philanthropic aid. He renovated
most churches at Ozubulu (particularly St
Michael's Catholic Church, Amakwa Ozubulu)
the Igwe's palace and instituted a charity
foundation. He also penetrated the state
government, donates to the state police and
the local vigilante groups.
These events were happening so fast,
Bishop was audacious, intimidating and
energetic. His friends that traveled to South
Africa had started complaining about him:
his intimidation and oppression; killings had
started; it has become the survival of the
fittest, the jungle of beasts. More than six (6)
people had died, all from Anambra State in
some misunderstanding between Bishop's
group of drug cartel and many more groups
of drug cartel in South Africa. Even at this
stage, no one took any information about
Bishop so seriously. Life went on and on
and on.
The peak of this crisis was in a clash
between Bishop and his best friend, Giniyee.
Bishop claimed he handed Giniyee a
package (hard drug) to deliver to a buyer
but ended up with some cooked up stories
with the intention of duping him. Giniyee
denied this, but stated that Bishop's enemy
ambushed him at the point of delivery (in
what seemed more like a set up) and made
away with the package -a package worth
hundred of millions of naira.
It got so heated that it was reported to the
Igwe of Ozubulu who summoned the two
with their families and pleaded for all to
exercise patience till the truth be revealed.
Bishop rejected Igwe's verdict and swore
that "isi ga ada" (meaning that 'head must
fall') within some months if his money is not
remitted back to him.
Few months later, the stunning news broke
out, September 2015, Ginika Nwoke was
shot died in the city of South Africa, the only
child, an orphan with a wife and a little girl
was killed. An Igbo adage says that "ihe mee
onye ara, i mara na onwere
mmadu" (meaning that when something
happens to a mad man, you will know he
has people). Mbaise indigenes made it clear
that the only thing that will suffice them is a
revenge, Bishop must be killed or a total war
against Bishop and his kindred.
Situation started to deteriorate; between
October 2015 and March 2017, Ozubulu
youths were gunned down on monthly
basis in South Africa. The owner of
Vacarmata (located around Michael Junction,
Egbema Ozubulu) Mr Obinna Ebuzeme, Mrs
Nchedo (Nkwado's wife) and many others,
especially the alumni of C.S.S. have been
killed.
Since then, Bishop attends occasions with
over 50 security personnels, very
intimidating entourage, but Mbaise
indigenes had not given up. In this latest
event, he came back July 2017, he is still
being tracked. Investigations revealed that
he was to be gunned down on Sunday,
August 6, 2017 at St Philips Catholic Church,
Amakwa Ozubulu, a church he built himself,
from the foundation to the roof.
Mysteriously, he got the news and escaped
from Amakwa at mid night (Saturday,
August 5, 2017).
The killers invaded his church still assuming
he was there, opened fire and killed more
than a dozen people. To prove it was
targeted and purposed to get at Bishop,
Bishop's father ran away the church
building with a bullet shot but the killers
chased after him and shot him severally to
ensure he dies.
OUR STAND
We should all take responsibility. Rather than
caution Bishop and reject his wealth, he was
celebrated and most regrettably, by
churches and others. We also believe that
Igwe Ozubulu should have done better. This
matter tarried for too long. It does not take
a lot to set up a peace committee between
Ozubulu and Mbaise. With this recent
massacre, the death toll on Bishop's case
has risen to over 40 people from 2015 till
date.
ADVICE
From report, this notorious Bishop has
stepped on many toes. This particular attack
might not necessarily had come from Mbaise
people. Many groups are chasing after
Bishop. Hence, we advice Ozubulu elders to
ostracize Bishop indefinitely till this matter is
resolved.
Churches, the state government and
individuals should dissociate themselves
from Bishop to discourage our younger
generation from desperation for wealth. Any
bill board with his image at Ozubulu and
environs should be taken down
immediately.
We also entreat Ozubulu and Mbaise elders
to set up a reconciliation committee. Ginika
Nwoke's family must be approached with all
humility, sincerity and respect; not because
we believed Ginika's testimony but because
we want peace to return to Amakwa
Ozubulu for the sake of the innocent ones
and Igbo tribe at large. |
This goes to show you that most Yorubas are level headed. They place the blame where it rightly belongs. They know their real detractors and they are clear about that. Despite that they trust in God to deliver them and follow due process to fight their cause rather than allow a single radical person activate one stupid botton to control the rest of the people like zombies and incite them to join the fray in names calling and such puerile and outlandish things. Anything or action perceived to create a chaos and put people in trouble is outrightly rejected because they are peace-loving people. |
Lightening:I understand your drift and feelings. Taking a closer look at the policies of successive governments we've had since independence, it's an evil wind that blows no region no good as no one can claim to have had it better. My posit still remains election boycott is going to the extreme and has a tendency of creating developmental and economic disjoint in the region. The consequence has far reaching and devastating effect which cannot be imagined. Agitation is acceptable under law but becomes an aberration if not properly harnessed to suit the motive |
How will a sensible person take up a debate challenge called by Nnamdi Kanu? Professors and Intellectuals should see this challenge as contempteous and denigrating. Tell Mr. Bean he has the permission of Joe Igbokwe to answer Kanu's challenge to a debate.
|
simplyhonest:Hmm..nevertheless, can two wrongs make a right? Election boycott can have far reaching and devastating consequences on the region |
simplyhonest:You are right. But did you see the duo calling for election boycott in their region? |
They should not only review the minimum wage, price control of commodities in the market is equally important. Otherwise we continue to move in circles like a tabby cat that wants to catch its tail.
|
proeast:All I can see is a lamentation of a rag-tag NFA that you are. What is your grief? Is he the one that caused your misfortune? He never mentioned any name yet you mounted the thread like a palm-wine-tapper bicycle to vomit this gibberish. Your hate speech is pushing the Nigerian state to the wall and you think you are having a field day. The gentle walking style of a cat shouldn't be seen as a sign of cowardice. |
The British professional boxer and heavyweight champion, Daniel Dubois is ready to help Wladimir Klitschko defeat the Nigerian-British professional boxer and WBA heavyweight champion, Anthony Joshua in a potential rematch. This is coming three months after the Ukrainian professional boxer, Wladimir Klitschko was knocked out at the eleventh round of the bout. Anthony Joshua who has since been expecting Klitschko's activation of a rematch in Las Vegas on the 11th November has suddenly been challenged by Dubois who vowed to assist him in regaining the WBA titles. Daniel Dubois whose boxing statistics shows some threat as all his four explosive bouts ended in Knock Out, can hardly give Joshua a run for his money come September 16 at the Copper Box Arena, London with 200,000 seats.

ZombieTAMER:Hmm...truth has no boundary? I laugh in greek The person on whose head a coconut fruit is broken does not live to jointly eat thereof. Remember it's not "Welcome to Lagos" but "This is Lagos"!!! |
Honestly, I don't get it. Why are you guys dissipating your youthful energy on failure-prone mission? The last time I checked, protest is a non-violent public demonstration of a group to show disaffection to the action or policy of another group or government in their domain. Now, Lagos state is a wrong place for this. It will make more meaning if you can stick your neck out and take this to Kaduna or Abuja where we have a group handing over a quit notice in declaration on one hand and/or National Assembly foot dragging on conduction of the much awaited referendum or restructuring on the other hand. If any of these cannot be done, then all I can see is mere dissipation of youthful energy and massive loss of useful man hours. |
moninuola65:Are you not a Nigerian and have you not been reading Igbo literatures? Mazi is an Igbo word used as title and sign of respect for an elderly Igbo man. Nazi has not and can never be an Igbo word as it comes from the German word for National Socialist (Nationalsozialistische). A Nazi is a person who believes in the ideologies and practices of the National Socialist German Workers' Party Hope that settles your endless curiosity and let us have peace |
moninuola65:Will you stop displaying your stupidity on this thread? Of what usefulness is the question you are asking time and again? You have been given candid answer yet you keep on asking provoking question. Be intelligent! |
CAPTAIND5235:You're highly welcome on board But this quick one: On this platform, you will get to read and see printable and unprintable news items and images. Don't get worked up by emotion, don't get funky. Avoid making demeaning suggestions or contributions. Better still, go through the dos and donts manual of Nairaland to guide you. If you do this, it promises to be fun and lively. Once again, you are welcome. |
Warship:You think everyone here is an ignoramus that will fall for your whims and caprices at the slightest behest? Your write-up is deficient in logic and soundness of mind. I'm not the type that dignifies illogical and tribalism-inclined stance like this with a response. |
Warship:OP, your hypocrisy stinks to the high heavens! How could you start a debate on the threshold of tribalism and want to avoid tribal discussion at the same time? Your hidden motive has been laid bare. As much as I respect intelligent discourse, this is to say the least, dull and seems idiotic.

BREAKFAST IN LONDON WITH CITIZEN BUHARI The picture of a handful of APC Governors and President Muhammadu Buhari, which was purportedly taken in London yesterday, is old and fake. I have been reliably informed that they were taken during Ramadan in Abuja some time back and not yesterday in London. Quite apart from that even though the picture was meant to have been taken in London curiously all the drinks on the table are Nigerian products and Nigerian-made. Did the Governors take all those drinks along with them to London when they went to see the President? Is Buhari not coming home again anytime soon? Acting President Yemi Osinbajo and some government officials recently told us that he would be back on the 28th of July which is just a few days away. Why the need for the APC Governors to "visit" him in far away London if he will be back in Nigeria in a few days? What was the purpose and point of this fake photo-shoot and this strange breakfast meeting? What was the purpose and objective of this monumental fraud and deceit? Whatever the answers may be to these questions the curtain must be brought down on what can only be described as a puerile and nauseating conspiracy. This crazy and noxious charade just has to stop. We do not wish the President dead but we have a right to know the truth. As a matter of fact we demand to know that truth because, as he once said himself, he "belongs to us all". For those who still believe that the meeting actually took place there are some nagging questions that need to be answered. For example why were the Nigerian and foreign media not allowed to cover the proceedings and participate in this celebrated photo-soot and merry London feast? Why did the Villa press corps not take one of their own camera men to London and make a short video of this "historic" event? Why was were the whole proceedings shrouded in so much secrecy? Why is it that only one picture was taken? Why were more pictures not shot? Why was Buhari not put on audio tape and interviewed whilst he was with his celebrated and important guests? Why did he not offer a few words of hope and encouragement to the Nigerian people to ease the tension that has been generated in the land by his prolonged absence? How can they expect us to take Governor Rochas Okorocha's word for anything without any solid proof or evidence to back those words up or give them a measure of veracity or credibility? I for one would not believe a word that a man like Rochas tells me. If he told me that it was day outside I would have to assume that it was night. It is that bad. Again why did Buhari not shake anyone's hands during the photo-shoot? Why did he not get up from his chair, say "cheese" and give us a big Daura smile? Why was he just sitting there like a stuffed mannequin who really did not know where he was and who he was interacting with? Is it not obvious that he can no longer function properly? Why all the tall tales that he is getting much better? Is it not clear that he is simply being stuffed with and pumped up by a dangerous cocktail of steriods? Is it not obvious that he is suffering from an extreme form of dementia? Is it not clear that even if he were to be brought back to Nigeria tomorrow he could no longer function properly and lead the nation? Is it not obvious that he is barely lucid and that he is little better than a zombie? Where is the shame in admitting these truths and prevailing on him to resign in order for him to be able to go home to Daura and take care of his health? Better still he could resign and be taken to Prophet T.B. Joshua's Synagogue Church Of All Nations (SCOAN) in Lagos for prayer, deliverance and healing. I assure you that it works. Those who truly love Mr. President and care for him ought to advise him to take one of these two options. Yet sadly few will do so. The bitter truth is that we have become the laughing stock of the entire civilised world since this shameless charade began. A nation of 180 million people whose President has gone missing and who have no idea where he is, what is wrong with him or what the prognosis for his condition is. The situation is shameful and bizarre. Worse still we have a media that is so fawning in its attitude when it comes to the Federal Government and that is so easily intimidated that they simply refuse to ask the right questions about this matter or undertake to carry out the necessary investigations with a view to establishing the truth. This is the greatest tragedy of all and it results in total impunity on the part of the government because the media is not prepared to keep them on their toes. Yet it doesn't stop there. We have a Senate with 109 distiguished and able Senators and a House of Representatives with over 300 honorable legislators and yet not one of them has the fortitude or guts to call for the resignation of this ailing man who is clearly no longer well enough to lead our nation. The following questions must be answered: are the Nigerian people under a blinding and binding spell? Is this the unholy work of vodoo-merchants, witch-doctors and necromancers? Have our people been bound up and charmed by these broom-loving APC wizards and witches? The truth is that God is watching this charade and He is not mocked. No matter what anyone says or does His will shall be done, His counsel shall stand, His purpose shall be established and His name shall be glorified in this situation and in our nation. Nigeria is too important, too big and too good to be subjected to such malevolent indignities and infantile rubbish. She is too blessed and advanced a nation to be manipulated by a faceless little cabal of power-hungry, godless, self-seeking, evil, callous and bloodthirsty men. We as a people deserve far better than that and we ought to demand much more. Buhari is not a King with divine rights and neither is he God. He is a human being like you and I and, just like us, blood runs through his veins. He is not immortal and he is not infallible. He is mortal and he is fallible. He is not indispensible. Like all human beings, he is dispensible. With or without him Nigeria shall go on and our nation shall survive. In any case whether he comes back alive or not is not the point and neither is it the relevant question. The relevant point and question is whether he can continue to function as President if and when he does come back and, based on the information at my disposal, it is very clear to me that he will not be able to do so. The truth is that if and when he does come back, he will come back as a shell of his former self. This is sad, pitiful and tragic but the sooner we come to terms with it the better it is for us all. This is a man that I have been reliably informed has lost his memory, his powers of speech, his recollection of events and his ability to perform even the most basic mental and physical functions. A man in such a condition can hardly be described as being fit to rule this great nation. The morbid obsession with retaining power at all costs which has afflicted those in the Presidency that Mrs. Aisha Buhari has graphically described as the "hyenas and jackals" coupled with their insidious attempt to institutionalise what I have described elsewhere as "corspsocracy" (the rulership of the living by the dead) in the body politic of our nation must cease forthwith. Nigerians are gracious, kind, long-suffering, resilient, loving, patient and compassionate people who wish the best for their President but that does not mean that they should be taken for granted, taken for a ride or treated like fools. They are not children and they are not stupid. It is time for this horrendous madness and hideous nightmare to stop! It is time for Buhari's seat to be declared vacant and it is time for Acting President Yemi Osinbajo to fully take over and be sworn in as the new and substantive President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
