I SMH for many of these men as they go on to have sons who get violated by the same people that they defend. The cycle is karma. I have seen many big mouths of yesterday looking for help for their children today.
As for me, I have never been in a happier place. Now, I know why things happened to me and I have healed from it. I have done the works to move on. Funny how serial rapists of yesterday now pretend to be ignorant regarding how the earth orbits. Today, they are called mummies and are highly respected in their communities. My major problem now is no longer from the rape but the relationship of my past. I still find it hard to imagine how love could devolve from hot to cold in just an instant of time. I was prepared for forever and I sacrificed my all to ensure that it happened. You know the feeling of finding a home. Just that perfect realization of your dream relinquishing. I took insults, I took blows, I took saliva, I did the unthinkable, I took it all and fought to keep it. I used to be the light in someone’s life. Someone cried every night for the fear of losing me. To something that I just couldn’t explain. I really don’t know how to love a woman ever. I do not know what to give and how to do it. I was tortured. Slipped into vices and I said, enough. I just gotta live too. I moved on but it transformed me into a monster. A bully, a thug. Sadly, these are feelings that you go through alone. No one can experience it with you. I feel better now, though but hard to trust again. Single and singed haha. I have healed but not just ready for any romance. May take time to find that release. I am more committed to outreach now. I worked with your community in the past and now, I am more into helping few orphans find hope. From 14 and below. I am loving it so far. I have two kids from my previous relationship. So, I am not looking for a wonder kid.
You do not know how grateful I am today. I could have been dead and forgotten. When I look back, I go on my knees. Just giving thanks to Jehovah God for life. Just for life. Everything else is a bonus for me. To be honest, rehab didn’t cut it for me. I don’t know how people fix their lives there but I gotta applaud those sincere-hearted professionals who endeavor to help people. Two days after a 21-day session, I was back to my vices again. My mother cried once when she saw me. I could never forget that moment. I saw photos of my older cousin. Man is done.
So, my friend did fill in the gap for me. Regular visits, texting and swimming together. Something we both love to do. I introduced him to the gym. He introduced me to a whole new people. In fact, I am surrounded. I deactivated my Facebook account. Disconnected from old friends. I was determined to save my soul. I move to Saudi Arabia at the time. I read about the stringent rules. Funny thing is that, what’s in Toronto is also in Medina haha. Drug is a hell of a thing. I decided to move back to 9ja. I am doing well. I love me some new me. Not going back there. I have my Bible close to me. I read and pray every time. Gotta stay alive for my kids. I have a few more anger issues that I am still dealing with. No cuss words anymore.
hahaha thank you, bro. You gon make me cry haha. I try. I always think about the golden rule. Hard to be sane in Nigeria. People only understand violence. I try to be the difference though I have a lot more work to do on myself. I am still a work in progress. You are not bad yourself. You do well to hold your own calmly too. Articulate your point and have your opinion. I don’t know woundedlamb but I guess he gets his flowers now haha.
I did. It was weird. I followed them for a while. Checked their Facebook profiles using a fake account and got their numbers from some mutual friends. Fact is that they did not know that I was the one. I called them, fronted as someone else and asked them some questions. I visited and left with a closure. Just didn’t go a step to expose their pasts. They have new lives now. Haha life is weird, bro. Can I call you “bro”? Sorry that I am asking this but dunno if you’re one of the woke pronoun activists. Would be nice to know your philosophy on the nonbinary pronouns activism too.
Can you tell, what led to the breakup? Well, I have had many gay friends in the past and some ended up falling deeply in love with me. It is just not something that I am carved for. I have actually lived with a few back in the days. We shared a flat and some of my ex-colleagues were openly gays. Nonetheless, I usually advise them all to procreate. I know how lonely that space gets as one ages. I have been with em old gays and what I saw was not good at all. Regardless, as the years run by, just having a ring of ties to some other humans who regardless, will never abandon you and you can confide in.
I will also want you to put that into consideration. You cannot be you, yourself and yours for all time. You just gotta share what has been shared to you. I see you as a very good father from the time that you take to type and share your thoughts. Actually, the decision to be a father should be from you. However, you cannot let any monumental injunction control that aspect of your life.

You identify as an agnostic. That sounds fair. Then again, how long have you been an agnostic for?
Sorry if this is voluminous. I talk too much.
Why am I crying? Because it's obviously not from the onions I have here...lol. I can't tell you how many times I read this,I didn't really care if it were a lengthy anecdote because it wasn't just written beautifully,it is beautiful,I could feel the heavy heart you wrote this with and a million thanks for sharing this with me,hopefully in the nearest future,I will share mine too

Seriously,I'm so happy we had a heart to heart as the only ones I can pour out my feelings to and relate experiences with are my best friend (another straight guy),my therapist with my ex and please you can call me "bro" if and when you like,I'm not really into the whole "woke" movement but I tolerate and respect them and their preferred pronouns as I have friends and colleagues who identity as non binary and other gender identities.

The downfall of the romantic relationship with my ex stemmed from me as I was going through a sexual identity crisis at the time, I've never been one to really believe in transgenderism as I had my reservations on the subject but I found myself falling for one and him falling back as we connected on almost every level, once we cemented our stance on an intimate relationship, things got pretty weird especially sexually,he knew my past and knew the turmoil and trauma I had with women and it pains to say "vaginas" in general as I was tied up and forced to penetrate not just one but four and I was now gaping at a reality whether I was gay or straight or bisexual,it was super confusing as he's so masculine (infact more masculine than most cis hetero men,you would never know until he told you, more masculine than even me with the features included either sports or masculine mannerisms) but I was in love with him so why should I be confused or care what my gay friends say? they kept telling me I was straight and maybe heteroflexible as no real gay man would have anything to do with a trans man,I tried explaining to them that I fell in love with his outward appearance as a man and his personality without even knowing or caring what's between his legs, but that was all a lie as a percentage of that attraction really cared what's between his legs and if it were enough for me. It was mostly because of him and them that I decided to seek therapy as he was also dying in silence and even contemplated having bottom surgery just for me but I never wanted someone to change for me rather I will love you for you but it was too late. We had a huge talk where we both poured out our frustrations both sexually and emotionally to one another and down right there,he blurted out to me that he's received a job in Rome working for the ministry of interior where he was going to be working for the department of internal affairs and apart from the fact he knew I would never follow him and long term relationships don't normally work especially for same sex couples,he kept the job on hold thinking maybe we could save the relationship but I wanted out,I was really in love with him but up till now,I have no idea if it were my friends who really got to my head or it was him or me,I just nevef felt comfortable when I was with him. Anyway,he would go on to start his new job in Rome,in the first 3 months I was fine until I heard he was dead and his death is really mysterious till date,he just collasped and died with the autopsy revealing traces of fluoroquinolone in his system, many said it had to do with his job but I call bull to it as his transphobic mum all of a sudden decided to apologize to him and live with him in Rome because he never messed around with drugs apart from the doctor prescribed hormones he was on,his mum was the one who called the cops to tell them he collapsed,I still don't know what to believe though but what I know is how much of a mess I was when I heard that news,I haven't cried or starved myself in a long time but I did so for him and even till this date,it still haunts me as I always blame myself for his death,I think that's one if the reasons why I choose to remain single because I feel guilty when I meet someone new. He was the one who brought me to agnosticism as I was fully atheistic before

They face harassment? valid identity?

18 yr old cis kids lost their lives in this war while older and mature Trans men and women fled the country, disguising as cis women not to be involved but when the dust settles they will come bad claiming one stupid right when they can't defend the honor of their country.
Did you read what I wrote because from your comment,I don't think you did?

I wasn’t talking about the military. Whether transgender, gay or queer, a military person's duty is to fight for the honor of their country.

I'm talking about the law that stated that men aged 18 to 60 to be engaged in the war.

All transgendered feed disguising as women.
Ok,I'm just gonna school you right there because majority of us (I said US because I'm part of the problem) still wallow in our cis heteronormativity privilege

It's still not safe for trans men either in the military or otherwise especially in the military as they are in their DADT era, moreover, If recruited, trans people face a higher risk of harassment and violence. Access to food banks, shelters, and other essentials often require a valid identity card. Mismatching ID documents can lead to denial of service, besides suspicion of fraud, ridicule, harassment, and violence

To say they fled without knowing the actual cause really stems from privilege

They did not cover anything up. The whole world saw it.

Men that transitioned to women refused to fight because they are now women.
Women that transitioned to men refused to fight because they are not men. grin

But these same transgendered women are participating in women sport and beating the hell out of women and feminists alike. grin
Please show me a link to your "fact" that transmen in the military left and refused to fight for their home

As a victim of serial rape myself, I extend my heartfelt sympathy to you. Most people don't realise the psychological consequences of their acts on others. I have also discovered that rape of males is celebrated in Nigeria and you are expected to be smug about it as a victim or simply get over it and quit disorganising the peace of Nigerians with it. In fact, the chances of you being believed are as narrow as possible.

Sad that the man made to protect you did that to you. In his case, he may not know much or simply is reacting based on the societal disposition. Nevertheless, I am glad that you found some healing.

As for me, I knew that I had to move on after a failed suicide attempt. Something kept on troubling me and I always felt a sense of despair and solitude even with everyone around me, I still felt lonely. I was scared of the dark for a long time. I was angry and I felt filthy within me. Even worse when I became a victim of abuse in a relationship.

Ganged up with the bad sons in school. Tried various drugs for 17 years. I became very hard-core, more of a bully. Became a sex freak. I was troubled for years. I thank God I have been sober for years now. I have a great friend who saw gold in me. He has been patient and really never gave up on me. He gave me a new purpose in life. Helped me to find my path to God. Helping me clean up my bad habits. I have a few to work on but so far, I can clearly see the sky now haha. He provides great explanations to my questions from the Bible and it hae never been holier than this for me. I can feel liberation.

I have reached out to my abusers but not to revisit the past. I only wanted to hear how they sound like haha weird me. They are married with kids. But, I have reconciled with my past. I am doing better. I now understand why and what conditions allowed them access to me.

I call my sisters and I am particular about my nephews. I want them protected at all times.

With that covered, I am concerned for you. I hope that you are doing well.

Since you're out of the country, I know Nairaland keeps you connected to happenings in 9ja. Nevertheless, I had asked about your take of the future. I know many gays who still believe in traditional values regarding marriage and child-bearing. Do you? Would you want to have kids of your own? Would you eventually consider getting married?

Lastly, what is your disposition regarding God, the creator of all?
You are so right, not just in Nigeria, male rape generally is never taken seriously and most victims never report it due to the stigma it carries with it. Moreovermost men are their worst enemies,I remember eavesdropping to a convo at a bar where a guy was reporting this to his friends, you have to see the utter gaslighting of his ordeal by his peers, hope you are healing from yours, it's a really traumatic experience.

I'm glad you found a true friend to lift you out of that pit of despair, it's a really dark and scary place to be in. It's great that you put in the effort to be sober, it's never an easy feat to overcome, I know your religion has a lot to do with it but you also have to put in the work as it's not easy, how has the experience been so far and how do you discipline yourself not to go back to that lane? Asking for a friend who's been to rehab twice but never took it seriously and he's an hardcore Muslim

Yea,I've noticed how super caring you must be,not just on this comment but you deal with every comment with empathy and calmness and even if you are provoked, you still treat them with love, the "kill em with kindness" slogan should be your motor and I know that will resound in your personal life as well, it's something I admire from you and woundedlamb

It's perfectly normal to want to reach out to people who hurt you in the first place to find some sort of closure, it's valid and I hope you found some sort of peace after that

I don't really know about my future if you ask me as I've never been one to think or want to get married since I knew what that was,I thought it was just a kid's mentality but turns out it wasn't,I just want kids and you are right about what you said in our previous banters about gay men, "it's truly a lonely life for gay men" but that's due to not just the stigma but we don't have a template to guide this generation of queer people unlike you straight people ,I was in relationship with a trans man(he still had his vagina as he hadn't done the bottom surgery) for almost a year, that's my longest relationship so far,if an homonormative relationship with kids is in the future for me, good,if it's not,I'm ok.....I will use that time to focus on myself,I've been single and celibate for almost 2 years now and my sex life is mostly me myself and I..... it's not that I can't find someone,I just want someone I connect with, as for God,I'm more agnostic than atheistic

Well, I used to be a wild freak and I have come across so many people who cannot understand what has happened to me. One told me that I sound brainwashed and need some help. Those were the ones who knew me before 2017.

To that point, Denrele can be something else that I'm unaware of. His orientation may have evolved. He wasn't a friend of mine but each time we locked heads somehow we had some moments away from the crowd. He is a star and I am not. I am privileged to have known and spent time with him. He seemed likeable to hang around with. I would want to stay with the truth that I know of him. If that is how he wants to be known and identified, I believe that he has a right to.

If someone else knows something deeper than I know of him, I still believe that he does a poor job representing gays. He has scarcely fed into that movement.

We have surely had bants in the past. As usual, we end up agreeing to disagree. I remember you from that homosexual topic now. Few questions: Still closeted to your family? Have they reconciled with your new life? What is the future for you as a queer?
You may have me confused for someone else as I'm out to my family but let me take you down memory lane, you may not remember but I told you my dad orchestrated my rape at 14,he drugged me then and invited four hookers to have their way with me thinking corrective rape would curb homosexuality,I'm grown now and I don't want to continuously harbor a that hate and pain in my heart so I forgave him (although my actions in the second paragraph might tell you otherwise),it didn't just mess me up physically but also mentally as for a long time,I had a problem just being close to women, thanks to therapy now

Well,I've forgiven my dad for everything he did to me but I will never forget and karma is dealing with him now as he's going through dementia, sometimes he doesn't even remember his own name. I'm not in Nigeria so I assigned a caretaker to attend to his needs,I don't even think he remembers the suffering he put me through as I haven't seen him face to face since the pandemic and that's on purpose

I am not defending him here and I am not his partner nor his father. I have met Denrele a few times and right from the height of his lunacy. We met in South Africa 2 years after meeting in Nigeria. We met roughly 10 to 15 other times in different places. I do not have his personal number but I can reach him if I truly intend to. My conversation with him was more about why he chose that lifestyle and he clearly told me that he is werey guy. He has been living that lifestyle since he was a child. He is wild and vivacious and I truly like his work ethic. Because, as tough as I am I wonder where he gets the energy to keep up his engagements back to back. I can speak more of his work ethics than his sexcapades but I allow him to define himself. Denrele goes from Manchester on Friday to Brooklyn on Saturday on his heels, entangling jewelry, and fluffy jeans or jacket.

I knew him from way back when he was still hot and spicy on the air and I haven't kept up with him since then. I like his swag and I like his spirit to gather his coins.

I am a Christian but I am not a judge. You might know him in the downlow clubs, and that I cannot defend as I consider that as your truth. I cannot trust an anonymous guy behind a laptop when I also have history with the said person in question. I have personally asked him if he is into men and he told me that he loves the Vagina. I asked him if he in into the gay movement, he is very open and revealing. He told me that he is not against or for any of those.

Again, people change and people can hide stuff. But, I speak passionately for him because I have asked him and I am speaking from my own angle of knowledge as he himself as told me. Moreover, you may be right and I am not discrediting you. I am just saying that, the man keeps on repeating the same thing for decades and until I catch him with a man, or read an open statement of him confirming his sexual identity, I can publicly attest that he is gay.

On a side note, I have met so many men who cross-dress but are happily married to their women and handsomely fathering their children. I do not encourage such lifestyle but I am not a judge either. Many men today are androgynous and that does not unbridged my love for them. I love everyone and reach out to all. I am not hunting down gay men. I show them the word of God and leave it at that. Their choice to accept or not. God is their creator and they can change if they let God guide them.

Please, do not use my religion stand to hush me. If you have a point, it will be nice if you articulate it without referencing my religious faith because this man is a public personality. He is not a member of my church or an apostle of Christ. I last met him in 2013 and I have moved on from who I used to be. Off that WILDerness plantation and more religious and spiritual now. All that I revealed belong to my past. I pray that he finds a way to reconcile with age as it comes for him and tame his eccentricities.
First and foremost, your truth is valid and I respect it but you also don't expect him to come out to you when you asked him that question knowing the times we lived in. Also,he said he loved vagina not women, there are gay men who love vagina and hates joysticks ,genital preference is different from physical attraction, casepoint, phallophillia and vaginophillia is different from homo and heterosexuality, context is key in that statement and the experiences we've had with him are different sides of a coin,is yours valid? hell yeah so is mine as I last connected with him late 2019

Furthermore, you are right, sexuality and gender mannerisms are not the same thing and please re-read what I wrote, I never said you were attacking gay people using your religion as a moral template as we've had a banter on that subject multiple times and we finally agreed to disagree,I just wanted to proove a point about his eccentric lifestyle that goes in conflict with your religion.

The youngster also cannot be hugged by family members as he "doesn't want to be touched". The statement added: "It has ruined him mentally and turned his life upside down.

"I don't know if he will ever recover. My son has been given a life sentence."

A statement by the boy's grandma said: "How dare you subject our grandson to such pain and hurt for your perverted needs?

"You took his innocence and childhood. You have shown no remorse for your actions and seem to think you have done nothing wrong."

David Watson, defending, told the court: "What can be advanced on his behalf is very limited. The defendant has no previous convictions to factor in, nor any behaviour outside of these offences.

"I draw the court's attention to the age of the defendant and his maturity, or lack thereof. It is inevitable there will be a very significant custodial sentence."

Roughley appeared to be shaking his head at points during his sentencing but hung his head, closed his eyes and cried as he learned his fate.

Sentencing, Judge David Swinnerton said: "You were sexually attracted to him and had a sexual interest in young boys, as is clear from the images of other children you had on your computer. You both groomed and coerced him and bought him things so he didn't tell.

"You have not only damaged him badly, but his whole family. You have shown no remorse and continue to deny any wrongdoing whatsoever.

"You deny any sexual interest in children. That is plainly a lie."

Roughley was handed an extended licence period of five years and a sexual harm prevention order and notification requirement to run indefinitely. He will serve at least two-thirds of his sentence before being eligible for release.

He's so right about that part though, not all gay men are feminine, infact masculine gay men are much more than feminine ones, the feminine ones just knows how to garner attention like women

He defined himself as what he is. He is a red carpet VJ. He spoke the truth. Give him some credit. He was one of those who brought the spotlight from SA to 9ja. I have met him a few times and I don't see anything gay in him. He talks and reasons like a man, business anf money.

Denrele might have an eccentric lifestyle but he has never represented the gays to me or to anyone around me.

Not everyone on make up is gay. His Shenanigans and eccentric lifestyle is his gimmick to fame and fortune. Would anyone have cared for a slim young man with his kinda nose on suit?

Let him live. Y'all are screaming gay gay gay. He has not flaunted that lifestyle. You are the ones dragging him to it. He is a hard-working man and has done well in the entertainment circle.

Call him anytime for work, he never fails to show up. Even when the cash isn't reasonable, he will do it.

Stop tagging everyone gay. Most times the gays are the straight gays on suits.
I thought you were a Christian, even if he's eccentric and not gay,it goes against your christian values and take it from a queer man, before I left Nigeria,I attended discreet queer club parties where he was the host, apart from that,he also acted in a TIERS (The initiative for equal rights, a non profit organization for queer people in Nigeria) movie that was produced by ASURF,where he play Ayoola Ayoola's boyfriend in the series so man so trust me when I say he's gay gay,him and singer Ric Hassaini had a thing for some months during the pandemic
