I'm using this medium to call on all relevant authorities to expeditiously wade into the Ongoing ethnic war between the IGEDE and IDOMA speaking tribe in Benue State. Lives have already been lost, properties worth millions of Naira have also perished as a result of this clash. We are one people and we must not continue like this. Let's sheath our sword and embrace peace.
The problem started when some Igede youths of OBI local govt area who share boundary with Otukpo local govt area noticed that some electric cables were disconnected resulting in power outage in OBI local govt. The disconnection was said to have been done by some IDoma youths, the IGEDE youths got infuriated and a serious argument ensued which degenerated into a heavy War. The most painful part is that, our political Leaders have not been pragmatic enough to call the warring communities to order and restore a long lasting Peace.
