Even my papa burial was more classic.
It's called a befitting funeral as a sign of respect to the departed
If they bury him in a gold casket that costs millions of dollars, and invite French Montana to perform during the cremeony, you will still complain.

I sha admire the guts that you have, comparing your father's burial with that of Gen. Buhari.

You are wrong. I took a 36 month loan last year as a public servant. Interest rate per month was 5% and I took over 650k loan, my total repayment was put at a little above 2m....and I was paying more than 63k monthly.
Thankfully, I got a little breakthrough and was able to liquidate the loan in March this year.

It's not easy been a public servant in Nigeria o
Definitely not a commercial bank.

You probably patronised a non-bank microfinance institution who are well known for very notorious interest rates.

You are wrong. Companies like CreditDirect Limited, a foremost finance company in Nigeria even recognised by the Federal Government's CreditCorp offers loan to civil servants at 4.5% monthly. Calculate this per annum. You don't need to take my word, just go and verify.
Fews weeks ago, I engaged a Marina bank staff about their car loan facility

Car TalkRe: Why A Nigerian Professor Would Not Be Able To Afford A Car by flexyrule(m): 12:01pm On Jul 16, 2025
People shouldn't speak of things they have zero idea about.

The current approved lending rate by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) is 27.50%, as of the most recent Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting in May 2025. This rate has been maintained since then and is expected to be reviewed at the next MPC meeting in July.

The above statement has rendered the entire tweet useless!

TheBillyonaire:
The current trajectory of Nigerian content creation in the digital marketplace presents significant challenges. Originally, monetization models for user-generated content were designed to reward educational, instructional, and high-signal media particularly in the DIY and knowledge economy segments. Unfortunately, what we are now witnessing is an oversaturation of low-value, entropy-driven content that amplifies noise over signal at scale.

Rather than fostering meaningful discourse or productive engagement, many creators have turned chaos into currency—monetizing sensationalism, misinformation, and distraction. This trend, if left unchecked, poses a long-term risk to the intellectual capital and digital credibility of the nation. For this reason, I personally restrict content originating from non-curated Nigerian sources, with the exception of government-regulated news outlets.

In contrast, figures like Aliko Dangote offer a compelling counter-narrative: prioritizing productivity over consumption, nation-building over personal luxury, and domestic investment over foreign asset accumulation. His industrial leadership demonstrates that private sector actors can serve as de facto architects of national development in a vacuum of visionary political leadership.

During my exploration of strategic opportunities in Akwa Ibom, particularly in the context of diaspora-aligned capital deployment, I conducted extensive research on various political aspirants. One such figure, Akan Udofia, stood out for his technocratic credentials and global-facing posture. Unfortunately, he lacked the political machinery typically required to compete in an environment still heavily influenced by electoral manipulation and entrenched interests.

By contrast, figures like Onofiok Luke, while experienced, appear aligned with the more traditional mold of political actors characterized by conventional thinking and reactive governance. What the region, and indeed the country, needs are cerebrally evolved, systems-oriented leaders those capable of stewarding complex capital, attracting venture ecosystems, and building platforms for industrial and technological leapfrogging.

Regrettably, the current administration lacks the strategic capacity to manage the scale of resources available. Investment flows in Akwa Ibom remain concentrated in low-barrier, low-yield sectors; fuel stations, roadside hospitality, and informal transport. The absence of venture capital, public-private partnerships, and scalable innovation hubs is glaring.

For Nigeria to unlock its true potential, particularly in frontier regions, it must move beyond surface-level consumption and deploy systems thinking, capital discipline, and strategic governance that welcomes both diaspora and institutional investment into productive sectors.
My brother, I'll be goddamned to be discussing real-life issues with Artificial Intelligence.

Little wonder you mentioned Akan Udofia...

Abobi, Enjoy the rest of your day.

TheBillyonaire:
Dangote is spearheading a transformative revolution in macro-level investment model from which we must draw inspiration and embrace as a positive challenge. Ibom State undoubtedly possesses immense potential; however, the administration under Udom Emmanuel was hindered by political short-sightedness, depriving the state of visionary leadership. Akan Udofia, with his proven expertise, would have been better positioned to drive progress compared to the current administration, which lacks the strategic clarity needed to steer Ibom toward its 2030 Millennium Development Goals. This stands in stark contrast to the demonstrated competence of governors like those of Enugu and Abia States, who have exhibited a far deeper grasp of developmental governance.

That said, May Dangote have long life and prosper because he deserves it. For him, young Nigerians may defocus from being crazy content creators to product creators /manufacturing and R&Ds.
Alan Udofia.... Never heard of him.. Onofiok Luke was my preferred candidate though.

I agree that there's an urgent need for a campaign that would help youths focus more on STEM. The whole Social media thing doesn't look sustainable, it solves very limited societal issues and has plenty of loopholes that can encourage other vices, since it is not regulated in anyway.

The Coastal Super Highway along the Lagos axis should be expanded to a minimum of 10 lanes to accommodate projected vehicular, logistics, and trade volumes. In tandem, a dedicated rail line must be integrated within this corridor to support sustainable, multimodal transport, especially given the increasing concentration of global-standard infrastructure projects anchoring this economic zone.

As Lagos serves as Nigeria’s prime international gateway, it is imperative that its transport backbone evolves to match global throughput expectations and urban density challenges. Such foresight will not only decongest traffic but will also future-proof the region for regional integration under frameworks like AfCFTA.

Looking ahead, the Ibom Maritime Axis stands to benefit from the maturation curve of development currently unfolding in Lagos. The lessons learned, particularly around planning missteps and implementation bottlenecks, will serve as a strategic blueprint ensuring that Phase II of Nigeria’s coastal economic evolution is governed by efficiency, resilience, and innovation.
Why should the Ibom Maritime Axis stand to benefit from the maturation curve of development currently unfolding in Lagos?

Anyway, it's a private investment, he has the right to decide where he wants it located.

But when the oil and gas from the Niger Delta region is cut and supplies out of the region are impeded, I hope that he won't complain.

Chelsea did me proud yesterday.

I kept telling my colleague that Chelsea would beat PSG, but he was following TikTok sport analysts to yab me.

First things first, in football, you can't just write off a team based on the performance of the other. Especially, when both teams are not playing in the same league and haven't played each other plenty of times.

The style of play alone can change the dynamics of the game and eventually the outcome. Another game that had similar dynamics was yesterday's final game between Oxford Utd (England) Vs Port FC (Thailand) - the Indonesian President's final Cup.

Home was the favourite to win (at 1.12 odds), but away (at 15 odds) won 2-1.

The aircraft’s last flight! This like turning off your fuel switch on generators. But it will start in the next time you put it ON. But will go off after some some seconds because the fuel switch wasn’t turned ON for flow of fuel.

The maintenance crew of that aircraft should be investigated, to get to know the truth. There might be an important person or two in that aircraft who people of interests to other people, there is a conspiracy!

Just my personal opinion.
Planes that fly internationally usually have their engines on idle for almost an hour before takeoff.

Even the generator won't go past 10 minutes.

Why should anyone be afraid of EFCC in the first place?

Anyway, my top 3 rules when house hunting are -

No 1. - Never live in the same compound with your your landlord/Landlady or a family compound.

No 2. - Never live in the boys quarters.

No 3. - House must be fenced, the street must have at least 3 different entry/exits.
